Which is the better troop? Intruder HMG McMurrough, Bandit KHD, Moran, Tomcat, Etc.

Of course none of them, but some cost SWC and other cost little or none. You use more guys that cost less SWC; it's restrictive not weak. Imagine there was a rule that Wildcats used up all the helmets so you could only take a few more helmeted guys in addition to them, that would be mechanically similar.

McMurrough combos well with the Wildcats with his 0SWC whereas Massacre does not as much as you need to pay for the Haris.

I usually take the 2 KHD bandits as their specialist status is often the most useful part of the model! I really wish the (deployable repeater) profiles of Bandits and Zeros were specialists - it would allow me to experiment so much more!

My question was actually more serious: I'd seriously struggle to build a Wildcat list with 3.5SWC dedicated to the link.

But I also don't think that the HRL actually really justifies the SWC cost. If anything I'd prefer to see 2 SWC for an Alg ML and 1.5 for the MI.

I gave a serious answer. You fill the rest out with troops that are effective without SWC.

I've updated the Bandit guide for the missing profile by quoting members' comments here. If people don't mind taking a look (2.4.2), let me know if you like this format and I can use it to update several of the profiles as I find useful comments on them.

Also, if anybody would like to write a guide on the link teams, please do. It doesn't need to be elaborate, just a sort of overview. Of course, if you can write up something in-depth that would be even better.

Why do you think the avatar is corregidor's worst enemy? Of all the game's factions, corregidor has good tools to deal with one, we've got flamers on tomcats to burn its odd, hackers with lots of REMs and repeaters to hack through, msv2 with multi ammo to punch through it and cc specialists with smoke/eclipse/marker states to engage it.

I don't, I have never played Corregidor. I just volunteered to port this old guide here because I know players find them useful, and now I'm maintaining it. I don't know if I can make this more explicit. Maybe the old author found the opposite to be true based on old information?

In any case, I'll edit it as it's clearly not an issue anymore.

I think the Spitfire/HRL Wildcat team works pretty well, myself. I even take an Assault Hacker in the same team! That's 4 SWC, which leaves me open to take an Intruder MSR and Moran, and I don't really need anything beyond that.

    I'd maybe add a bit of an expansion on Lupe as its worth the emphasis that she really adds an awful lot to the alguacile link;
Template weapons are golden on a full link thanks to sixth sense l2 in aro as well as for performing intuitive attacks or piece trading vs clumped up foes. Mimetism and link bonuses make her a very cost efficient gunfighter and the panzerfaust can punch through heavy opponents.
Aside from that, she's a specialist in her own right for pushing buttons, dogged so can keep trucking after a stray crit and the icing on the cake is the smoke grenades, allowing her to quickly and reliably (thanks to link bonuses) lay down a smoke screen for supporting intruders or for crossing a firelane. On sparse terrain boards she's a godsend and is an auto include where you're wanting your alguacile link to get up the board and do some work.

Also wanted to weigh in on bandits with khd loadout. They're a good pick and a good reserve drop where you've got opposing hackers and upfield repeaters. Thanks to their infiltration ability they start well up the board and can efficiently assasinate backfield hackers through their own repeater net. There are a variety of programs on the khd, some of which impose negatives to the enemy which accounts for his poorer than average WIP somewhat, especially as he'll often get the surprise shot bonus from his camo state in addition! He's also good for achieving data scan and hvt:espionage efficiently thanks to his infiltration skill

Also, the Harris for wildcats is golden for ITS missions favouring high order efficiency (biotechvore for example) or those where you need multiple specialists moving up the board and lends itself nicely to order efficiency in limited insertion lists. Given the specialist and big gun options, they can be very flexible if a little slow (though mov-fire orders as just as quick as any other link!)
Whilst jags are cool, they're hurting for high burst ranged weaponry and are devoid of specialists. Wildcat Harris fills both requirements nicely

I made some big updates to this thread today and have added a lot of comment-quotes. Thanks to everyone for sharing your insights.

I have also started the Fireteam section (3.0). Currently, the only team with any substantial coverage is the Wildcats. If anybody with experience would like to write some comments and sample teams for the others, it would be appreciated. It doesn't need to be much, just some explaination of why you'd bother taking a certain configuration and a display of a sample link. If you're ambitious, showing the list using the link would be golden, especially in the case of something like Brigada which will clearly anchor the whole list.

Interested to see if the new Star Co means changes for Corregidor in the near future.

Edit: it's hilarious that they finally make Brigada a really attractive link and put them with Riot Grrls so there's no reason to use them.

We were just discussing this. AVA 5 MB, AVA3 Grrls and mixed Grrls/MB links would have been interesting.

It would have made more sense than the mess we got as well.

If they make the premier Brigada faction StarCo I think that would be a mistake. The parent faction should have the superior or equal version.

If they had it link with non-Corregidor troops that might be different, like with Brigada/Anaconda. But as is Brigada will feel like a lendlease to Corregidor not the other way around.

Anyways if there are Corregidor changes soon that would be pretty cool.

I hope we see some changes too. As it is now, there is almost no reason to play brigada--

Want a link of Brigada? StarCo is better, but they have Grrls which are even better with a wip 18 doctor. They also have Jags and Massacre and all the fun stuff you can do with CJC. Better Haris options too.

What does CJC bring to the table anymore at all?

Brigada link: better in StarCo, and Brigada are mediocre HI.
Wildcat link: This isn't worth going sectorial for in any way, especially with the extra SWC tax
Balboa/Alguaciles: Generic line infantry defensive link. Nope.
Jaguars: Ok, this is very good, but this means your are just Jag+Intruder every game.

If CJC got the Brigada/Massacre/Daktari link, then things would be interesting. 150 points for our link team, 150 for cheap specialists and the ability to bring a second group of CJC drop troops to swap in once you lose an order or two. 15 order HI link lists? You can put together some scary stuff. Pop a TAG in for LI. Would make some pretty decent all arounders-- but right now I have non reason to play CJC outside of force of habit. These days I'll play vanilla or StarCo.

Throw CJC a bone or two or the faction is as irrelevant as Exrah.

Anyone else cautiously optimistic about the color of Uhahu's icon? I, for one, would trade away Valerya for a HD+ in a heartbeat. She's more appriciated in Druze anyway.

Is there any precedence of a sectorial getting tuned without a complete overhaul? The Brigada Boarding Shotgun Lt was a good surprise, but would they consider adding new mercs or fireteam compositions without a major update?
