One of the great joys of playing Nomads is harassing the shit out the opponent's most valuable units. I love love love KHDing through a Pitcher when they think their linked hacker is safe behind a wall on the other side of the board. Only tagjacking gives me greater malicious glee. It's also fun to see how unprepared a lot of players are for Guided missiles these days. Those who have played since N2 were generally traumatized enough by them (and HGLs) back then to be wary of the possibility still. I love facing opponents who scoff at the order investment required to get the target locks, then get annoyed when you kill two high-worth units minimum a turn with the missiles for zero risk. Gotta admit I never do GML in Corregidor though, it's more of a Vanilla/Bakunin thing for me (Meteors with Sat-Lock, meeee-ow). Your list looks great for doing that with Corregidor... I'm going to give that one a try soon. Thanks @inane.imp !
I love it when that stupid smug look people have when they drop an unhackable army against me in transmission matrix turns to "Oh Shit" when the vertigo goes down on the table and I start lighting up everything they care about.
The addition of Jazz has been enough to convince me to try out Corregidor again. Here's what I've been playing for something heavy on defense and specialists like supplies or transmission matrix, and it does pretty good on zone control missions like frontline as well. The mixed link of Brigada + Jazz + Dak + alguaciles gives a ton of options for defense or turn 3 button pushing. Here's what I'm thinking to tackle both show of force and firefight. To get both scenarios with one list, there's a few sacrifices. However, I have... - Hidden (albeit expensive) lieutenant who at least comes with WIP14 to help with going first on firefight - Cheap TAG that I can easily hide to score last turn - Disposable panzerfaust ARO's that are deadly to TAGs that come close - 2x drop troopers that will wreck havok on firefight and also have anti-TAG tools Rumble 2 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 JAGUAR Adhesive Launcher, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CCW. Talking about Jaguar core, i wonder what wildcards work best with it, and what are general pros and cons of it. Daktari seems great for healing massacre and jags, also enabling reforming o fireteam when he dies. She is a specialist as well. Jazz gives you another specialist, ssl2 hacker and SMG/pither. Spotlighting enemies for EM grenading is also interesting She is however vulnerable to killer hackers lurking the midfield. Lupe is ok but i think she is quite expensive compared to jags and brings tools that they already have. What do You guys think?
Camospam Ariadna pisses me off enough that I usually build one of my two tourney lists to deal with it. Sometimes that's through GML and Sat-Lock, which is oh so fun with a Meteor in vanilla but still doable with Corregidor (because it synergizes with AD lists well too), and now a lot easier with linkable pitchers. If only there were a way to shoot Sensors across the board, oh well.
It really depends what you're using it for. For instance: Daktaris 14pts ADHL Jag 13pts/0.5 SWC ADHL Jag 13pts/0.5 SWC Chain Rifle Jag 10pts Chain Rifle Jag 10pts (Alternative attack piece) That's a dirt cheap second order group that you can happily put on short-midrange defensive duties turn one expecting it mostly to be lost. You can add in an Intruder MSR for top tier anti-warband defence. You can then flip to whatever you have in your primary group as a core. * Assault team, I'm probably using Massacre and a Daktari fleshed out with Jags. But I prefer Haris as assault teams: less orders pushed towards the enemy to die. * More robust core that I plan to push a little into the midfield and sit on an objective but not really shove down someone's throat, then subbing Massacre out for Lupe gives you an 11pt discount on the Massacre + Daktari + Jags build. * The Haris + Core build is probably my favourite though: Daktari + Jags Core Massacre BSG Haris + Lupe + CR Jag Jazz I would only include if I needed a regular Hacker for some reason. Personally I think she pairs better with a Tsyklon/Alg Core than the Jags. In any Jazz + Jag Fireteam that I wanted to push up the board though, I'd make certain it had either Breaker Massacre or Lupe: 16" guns are too useful when moving a core around. So I'd most likely use her in a Lupe/Massacre + Jazz + 3 x Jag Fireteam. Aside: these days if I'm planning to advance the core then I'm probably putting Massacre in for sweet sweet Eclipse.
That is main selling point of this core opposed to mixed alg/brigada/tsyklon core. Eclipse is so usefull these days against all those msv2 fireteams, especially with fireteam bonuses. Throwing them twice on 19s up to 8 and on 13s up to 16 is golden. You can screen center objectives for morans/bandits to grab without any risk. Also works well with big bad dog reducing aros he will take while advancing. I have trouble getting massacre haris to enemy lines intact. Even if I manage to, they get killed quickly without ssl2 and +3 bs.
In a massacre + 4 jags core, can I replace massacre with a wildcard?! I suppose I can't in a harris because none of the wildcards have the harris skill, but it would be interesting if that option opened up for core.
Another issues I have with this core is LT choice and SWC weapons. Intruder synergize well with all that smoke but is expensive, alguacil is ok but takes swc and requires decoys or protection. Wildcat is ok but obvious. As support weapons go i tend to lean towards intruder HMG and hellcat spit/hmg cos they are hard to asassinate by alpha strike (and without them you will loose all long range firepower). What else combo well with this core in Your oppinion?
Mcmurrough makes every core better. They power him through his first turn Rambo, and he kills all the things they have trouble dealing with.
Yeah he is autoinclude for me since update. But my question is rather about heavy weapons . Rest of the list is quite standard - morans/bandit/tomcat
I tend to Intruder HMG/MSR Hellcat Spitfire / HMG Alg Lt + Alg decoy This synergises well with the high order count and lots of smoke. It also leaves 1.5 SWC for 2 x ADHL Jags and a Moran. This does mean that against some problems (*cough* Kamau *cough*) you need to be creative about how you deal with it as you don't have a clear 'go to' option built in. But you have enough tools to make it work. Something like this: 8 Jags ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 JAGUAR Adhesive Launcher, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 13) JAGUAR Adhesive Launcher, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 13) JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10) JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10) DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10) LUPE BALBOA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Panzerfaust, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 23) SEÑOR MASSACRE (Fireteam: Haris) Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, E/M CCW. I'm a big fan of Tsyklons. 1SWC, climbing plus for extra maneuverability which is important important in a core link. I like the concept, but there's a couple of details that aren't to my taste. Why the EVO? It doesn't seem to be doing much in that list. I'd immediate swap it out for a Moran.
With one order and one command token, all your REM (4 here) get MM2 and +1B (not super useful on the Tsyklons) But MM2 and core link is really deadly, the face of your opponent learning you are hitting his unit in cover with 5 dices on 18 is priceless
Unfortunately, that's not how it works. The Coord order will get you 2 Supportware programs up. So you either can give both Tsyklons MM2 or one Tysklon MM2 and Overclock all the REMs. Also you can't use both Supportware on the same REM at the same time so it's either MM2 or +1B, not both. I like Jazz + Tsyklon/Algs + EVO. I just don't think that one is doing enough to justify its cost. Two reasons for this. First, you don't usually need MM2 up on both Tsyklons at once. You have the orders to put it up on the Spitfire when you need it and swap to the Feurbach for ARO duty-free. Second you're command token heavy as it is: between link management and rerolls for repairing the Tsyklons that'll take most of your command tokens. I think you get more out of Jazz in a link where she'll benefit from SSL2. That being said, coord Supportware is a cool tactic. I'd just use it in a list that exploits the EVO more (I've previously posted a Tsyklon/Alg + Jazz + EVO + Satlock + Vertigo list that really leverages the EVO's synergies).
About that evo - its good for linked Jazz when you go second. Put Kaleidoscope with command token and you have additional -3 on top of maestro against killer hackers, with ssl2 ignoring stealth when aro hacking. Mix in hellcats, transductors for overclocking and you will get some value from that investment. If you go overboard - add tinbot brigada to the link, but it is way too expensive. But getting -12 with maestro is tempting against some armies ;)
