The only thing that really fits this is the Ratnik vs BJ.

Scouts, tankhunters, spetzs, Vet Kazaks are all strong long range options. DD depserdors, hardcases, mavericks, marauders all favor closein game play. Both sectorials have lots of options that work in short and long range.

I agree with this post. I think there is a design shift in swing now on how things are made. I think sectorials are getting more focus instead of just being parts of vanilla armies. The gaps that exist in TAK are being closed out.

I am betting they will all get an eventual update along these lines. CB is just slow in evening things out.

Even if the Frontovik(which either Bostria misspoke when he said during BoW week it's their "linkable MI" or the dossier's wrong) is more Rosie +...that's still pretty darn silly. I get that characters aren't supposed to be the end all be all but she's nowhere even in the same ballpark as the Frontovik.

    Short range force?

You have HMG Spetnaz, one of the best ariadna long range troops. Then you have tankhunters who also excell at longer range, then you have vassily with t2 sniper/markshmen rifle, then plenty of t2 markshmen rifles, Then there is vet kazak with ap hmg, scout with ojotnik etc. Most of this stuff wants to be outside of that 16" range and murder other player with AP/T2 from a far. On the other hand, USA has flamers everywhere and wants be more up close than TAK does. You have B3 flamer in a link for a reason, inferior infiltration flamers, forward deployment flamers, chainrifles on bikes...

HMGs are not really long range though they are mid range weapons, yes, TAK has firefight capabilities longer than a rifle, but I think the overall feel will be short range engagement.

Tak have good swarm mode with antipode packs, dog warriors and irmandinhos (if they make the sect). The ad spetz are brutal too up close

Short range is the Caledonian thing. Just wait there. Smoke, close range, full attack.

USAriadna always seemed to me like a lot more defensive than the rest of Ariadna. Fire, snipers, high armour.

TAK looks like a lot of élite troops (for the Ariadna standard). With mines, antipodes, veteran troops.

Of course, all Ariadna has things in common. We are Arianda, but we didn't see all TAK to make a full statement about they being an USARF with better things.
Maybe YOU wanted USAriadna to be like TAK sems to be, but that is just a personal thing. I didn't wanted a defensive position Ariadna, so skiped USARF, now i'm excited from what TAK looks like. But i still love more Caledonia, at least at this moment, we will see.

One of the items mentioned at the seminar was a g:sync dog and bike for TAK.

I am not sure how I feel about that one. The dog with girl seems solid, but we will have to see the bike stats.

So did we get any indication on timing for TAK from the seminar? Is Varuna coming before TAK?

HMGs cross from the front of your drop zone to the back of the adversary. If that is not long range then I guess you have been playing on *very* open tables...

Considering that the starter set for TAK is dropping around the start of September for the non-Gencon crowd I'd say its safe to say its dropping before Varuna.

Could be Varuna, TAK, and OperationS/OSS/SSS/Vedic/The One That's Not As Full Of Greek Dudes And Dudettes might all drop same time in Army. Who knows?

    Other than CB, obviously.

The naming is French, but Bostria said definitely TAK and maybe others that he couldn't remember.

Well TAK still has to receive the teased Cavalry Regiment, so maybe she´s just the Everyone Merc Version of what we will get anyways and thats why he was confused?
At least thats what I hope.
Because besides the Antipode with a Hammer, nothing really looks TAK about her, and having a (probably irregular/impetous) Biker Merc kinda feels like it undermines the "professionell Elite Force" Theme TAk has going.
n the Other side, maybe she´s friends with the Imardinhos ...

Desperadoes were originally meant to be TAK, and they've got a fair few "unprofessional" units.

Teased Cav Regiment... they already did that in the Ariadna supplement for the RPG. They're called the Dynamos.

Yeah I know, wrote it myself on page 22, but that doesn´t stop this one from being an ex-Dynamo who kept her Antipode and went Merc, if all, the hammer shows that this is an TAK Antipode, and since Streloks get a special TAK exclusive Sync Loadout, It´s more than possible that the dynamos will have the same

Not really, our tables are usually between Spanish and American meta so they are quite build up, that been said, our local meta has changed and the skill level has went up, this gives a good appreciation of HMG been a mid range weapon and not a long range weapon.

Wouldn't that also affect Snipers and Missile as the sight lines aren't there?
