As the title says, I'm struggling to make meaningful 15 order lists, without resorting to throwing in Traktor Muls (which have terrible stats) or more Line Kazaks/Irmandinhos (which doesn't particularly excite me). Furthermore, I find that 15 order lists mean I don't max out my SWC (as per my list 3 below), and I'm not sure what is more important, special weapons or orders. I guess my question is - will I be at a decisive disadvantage with a 12-14 order list? I have provided my 'top' three lists below and would really welcome some insight into whether they look balanced and effective.

    List 1 SWC: 6 PTS: 300

    Group 1

    Line Kazak Core:
    Line Kazak (Lt) 9
    Line Kazak (Para) 11
    Line Kazak (FO) 10
    Line Kazak 9
    Frontovik AP Sniper 30

    Veteran Kazak AP HMG 46

    Strelok (Minelayer) 21

    Group 2

    Frontovik Haris:
    Veteran Kazak (X-Visor) 39
    Frontovik AP Spitfire 31
    Frontovik (Engineer w/LRL) 29

    Spetsnaz HMG 38

    Dynamo (Para) 19

    Irmandinho Chain Rifle 8

    List 2 SWC: 6 PTS: 300

    Group 1

    Line Kazak Core:
    Line Kazak (Lt) 9
    Line Kazak (Para) 11
    Line Kazak (FO) 10
    Line Kazak 9
    Frontovik AP Sniper 30

    Veteran Kazak AP HMG 46

    Strelok (Minelayer) 21

    Group 2

    Frontovik Haris:
    Veteran Kazak (X-Visor) 39
    Frontovik AP Spitfire 31
    Frontovik (Engineer) 26

    Spetsnaz HMG 38

    Dozer 13

    Traktor Mul Katyusha MRL 9

    Irmandinho Chain Rifle 8

    List 3 SWC: 5 PTS 300

    Group 1

    Line Kazak Core:
    Line Kazak (Lt) 9
    Line Kazak (Para) 11
    Line Kazak 9
    Line Kazak 9
    Frontovik AP Sniper 30

    Veteran Kazak AP HMG 46

    Strelok (FO) 20

    Irmandinho Chain Rifle 8

    Group 2

    Frontovik Haris:
    Frontovik (Engineer w/LRL) 29
    Frontovik T2 23
    Frontovik T2 23

    Spetsnaz HMG 38

I find frontoviks are a bit pricey for what they do. I would not bring in a core at all. I would rather have the vet kazak there. Below is one I have been thinking about.

aro pieces aren’t as good anymore, but lots of camo is good.

Why is your Vet Kazak AP HMG not in the core fireteam? Irmandinhos are one of the best units in the faction. Use them! Also, TAK doesn't really need a haris team and generally works better with strong solo models. Don't feel bad about only spending 3 SWC on HMGs. SMGs and T2 MMRs cost no SWC and are great weapons.

If you must spend SWC try something like this.

I dont do Haris in TAK anymore after CB removed the Vet Kazak MK12. Its to squishy, cost to many points for what you get and susceptible to crits with only Frontoviks and the lack of +3BS. Putting the HMG Vet kazak in there isn't an option since it isn't a pushing piece.

Used this list in a Turny back in October. It went 3 - 0 major victory vs Haqqislam, Starmada and Combined Avatar/Speculo/Ko Dali list.

In hindsight i should have had Carmen in group one since she was always and order or two from being able to take out one of my opponents most important pieces. Got a monofilament CC weapon on her in one game.

In TAK i use group two as the expendable group. I dont care if they get killed since their funktion is to slow my opponent down, making it harder for them to push into me and maby even kill something in the process. I usualy have one specialist and/or smoke thrower in there to for button pushing or utility to use the orders on.

If you decide to use a Dynamo Duo i would advise to have one of them armed with a AP Spitfire. One "Alpha" strike taktik with them is to have an Irmandinho nearby to throw impetuous smoke then use the Dynamos impetuous to move and form the duo link after that. Use their speed to move up fast and then jump of the bikes to be able to gain cover and then start shooting things untill they die.

Thank you - and an interesting list too. Are Frontoviks generally regarded as bad choices? I just love the models so that would be a shame...

Thanks for the feedback. I was under the impression that since the Vet Kazak was a key attack piece, he would be better running solo rather than taking a core with him. I was going to use the linked Frontovik sniper as an ARO piece. Is this bad logic?

Thank you for the advice, and good job on the win streak! I’m going to have a proper look at your list later and tweak it to taste.

Yes that is bad logic. The range of the HMG is long enough that the Vet Kazak does not need to move around a lot to shoot, and can keep the rest of the core team safe. In general it is best to take your strongest linkable attack piece and put them in a core to make them better, instead of buffing a weaker piece.

If you go second you can put both the Frontovik and Vet Kazak in the core team, then add another Line Kazak to the team when the Frontovik gets killed.

Also, Frontoviks are good but work best in a core fireteam of 4 Frontovik + Kazak Doctor. The buy in cost of a Frontovik Haris is too much for not a lot of gain. I have also used the team of Vet APHMG, Frontovik Heavy Rocket Launcher + 3 Line Kazaks with good results.

One of the draws of TAK to me was the dogs, so I’d be going for something like this :

A little smoke, a lot of big dogs to grab attention, a couple of dangerous guns and (hopefully) a lot of fun.
