I do remember distinctly that CB said somewhere that they plan at some point give the mix n' match fireteam treatment to older sectorials too. Sounds a lil bit like most if not all sectorials are gonna get at least some mixed options and I for one welcome that.

Especially since the Corregidor fluff heavily supports the idea of mixed fireteams since Sarmiento ecourages cross-unit training and the workforce nature of CJC would explain remotes in fireteams. *cough* also heavy combat remotes *cough*

Regarding the Bakunin profiles I'd like to see something like shock immunity on the Moiras. Apart from the Haris you already mentioned a mixed Custodier, Moira and Healer link would be saucy but probably too stronk. Riot Grrls need just a tinitiny nerf to get them in line. Something like dropping WIP or PH by one maybe? I'm of the opinion that the Nomads HI lineup overall is slightly too good (apart from the Brigada) anyways, especially since HI should be one of our weaker points.
The Prowler is on the opposite side of the Riot Grrls coin, They feel just ever so slightly underwhelming. In Bakunin the Prowler might even find it's way in some lists but in vanilla they're overshadowed by all the other amazing Nomad skirmisher options. Not completely sure how to tackle the problem apart from another dull attribute raise. Maybe more specialist options or something like climbing+?

Generally speaking, if the Prowler works in Bakkunin, its fine. Trying to make everything have a home in Vanilla is madness. The whole point of Sectorials is to create limitations where redundant models can find their niche.

I think Tunguska added a lot of interesting units, but I have little interest in playing the sectorial. I would be more inclined to branch out of Corregidor and start playing Vanilla instead.

I heard that too. From recollection the response was (paraphrasing): "yeah we'll probably do that, but it is not our current priority and not happening any time soon."

I doubt there will be a mix of Custodier, Moiras and the Healer. Mainly because of the fact that this would make the Assault Hacker Moira obsolete. And despite shock immunity is the secret wish of all MI players I'd like to see it only on Kusanagi (actually Bioimmunity) otherwise the Nuns would get even more expensive.
In regard of the too good HI you might scan the other factions' HIs the Grrls pofile values are actually totally average, maybe even less than that. Only the skills let them stand out a bit. Then there is the frenzy discount. But the main reason why they are seen as so strong is that they have many cheap and still useful units in Bakunin which make a Pelvic Pain Train so successful (so far they got only interesting after the addition of the specialist, tinbot and ML profiles) due to their support. Thus reducin any of their profile values will harm them in a disproportionate manner. And with the MBs Nomads already have their HI weak spot :P
Now to the Prowler. In my experience the Prowlers are worth their points regardless which profile you choose. I only hat a fistful of games where my Prowler(s) couldn't do what I've planned and that was mostly blamed to crits and my own stupidity. Well, I like them that much that they're even one of my favourite choices in vanilla (Spitfire+Moran+Interventor) and often kick the Intruder out of the list.

There's honestly no issue with obsoleting the AHD Moira. It's an anachronism as it is.

It's not an awful profile; it's more that losing it isn't a massive consequence. All you'd really need to do to 'retain' it is to create a Custodier Multi Rifle profile.

That's not even needed, the BSG and Combi Rifle profiles are already good enough.
But in general I don't see a reason why you should give a hard to hit link an option to surpass that strength through hacking. With the Rev. Healer or Kusanagi we're already sufficently equipped with fine specialists.

It's mainly because to get a Moira core and White Noise you need six 30+ point MI. That seems needless in current environment. It's certainly one of the reasons Moiras are seen as relatively weak.

The AHD is a fine Specialist (I quite like it in the core), it just doesn't give White Noise and we're talking about a link that is overpriced junk when facing MSV2.

Well, no. The Nuns are still solid MI troops with good enough stats to defend themselves - they're just easier to hit. And in the active turn a full core HMG Moira still shoots 5 shots on 15s against one on (mostly) a 13. In the reactive turn WN only helps if you either have enough repeaters out there or let the Rev. Custodier get LOS, which is a bad idea.
Some insight from my several games with the Nuns for training and at the Interplanetario: despite bringing Uhahu for White Noise support I used White Noise maybe once against a MSV troop. Ok, that might be owed to the Limited Insertion...

I've always thought of templates to be the link breaker.

I think the problem with Moira is that they cost way too much to be a long ranged link. My Wildcats don't feel too expensive compared to Alguacilles because I'm using every profile I took, I'm not hiding them for link bonuses. The balancing act of keeping Moira safe to maintain bonuses and making full use of them so you're not paying 35 points per for nothing but fireteam bonuses is too much.

Djanbazan have a similar problem but MSV2 helps counter templates by avoiding smoke and Hafza keep the costs down even if you don't want to get close.

Give brigada a haris option and more DTW sidearms on some of the profiles and they should be workable.

RE: Gecko fireteams that would end up with burst 6 assault pistols which is most likely where the "too broken" comment came from.

Pretty sure that was from before they had a second assault pistol.

Brigada's main issue is that they don't do enough to be included as a solo piece and they take up your core to link them. CJC doesn't need to make core linkable Brigada an 'optimal' link: let that be Starco's schtick. Focussing on trying to make the Core viable in non-LI 300pts is a boondoggle: Nomads aren't supposed to be about HI, so it's fine if our poster-child HI core underperforms.

I'd be ok with Haris. But I think most of the problems are holistic: you need too many MB to fill the link you want, this just gets worse at a Haris. Hollowmen are an instructive comparison:

Haris is on a desirable profile.
Discount Specialist option other than AHD.
    Hacker has a Tinbot.
    ML has reasonable secondary weapons.

My 'fix' to all of the underperforming 'generic' HI:
    Duo on all profiles.
Hacker, BSG or SWC option gets a Tinbot profile.
Add SO to a desirable profile.
    Secondary weapons for the ML.
Add Grenades or Stun Grenades to one or more desirable profiles.

Doing that doesn't change the feel of the HI Core, but it does increase its options significantly.

    Basically this for MB:

    [IMG]9
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA (Special Operative) MULTI Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 40)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 42)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Boarding Shotgun + Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 34)
    [IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Boarding Shotgun + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 37)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Missile Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (2 | 42)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 43)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 46)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Lieutenant Boarding Shotgun + Grenades/ Pistol, Knife. (0 | 34)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA (Special Operative) Lieutenant MULTI Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 40)

This would make a HMG + Hacker Tinbot duo viable (at 88pts / 2.5 SWC). This provides a mailed fist that CJC sometimes lacks and is a decent alternative to a Gecko + Jaguar (63 pts / 0 SWC).

It would also make this a thing, which while not 'optimal' would be viable (particularly at 400pts or in LI):
    MR+LFT SO Lt
    BSG+Grenades
    Hacker+Tinbot B
    HMG
    ML+AssP

Adding Haris to the MR+LFT or BSG profile and maybe swapping the Hacker's gun to an SMG or BSG (al la Brawlers) would just be gravy.

Re:Moiras. The Combi+EMitter is your link filler profile at 28pts. SMG+Emitter would fill that role a lot better. BUT in reality you don't have much need for a link filler.

    [IMG] Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]5
[IMG] REVEREND HEALER Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, EXP CCW. (0 | 32)
[IMG] REVEREND MOIRA HMG / Pistol, Shock CCW. (1.5 | 34)
[IMG] REVEREND MOIRA MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW. (1.5 | 34)
[IMG] REVEREND MOIRA MULTI Rifle + E/M Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, Shock CCW. (1 | 34)
[IMG] REVEREND MOIRA Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0.5 | 36)

    4.5 SWC | 170 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

Honestly, my preference is to add this to all Moiras, Healers, Custodiers and Kusanagi:

"Counts as Observance for the purposes of Fireteam composition"

Then make an 'Observance Core' and an 'Observance Haris'.

And then nerf the defensive Grrls link by making them BS12 PH14.

Yeah I would take those Brigada. I still think adding a Tomcat to be linkable would be good but that's largely to make the 300 point box better.

This is what i meant by adding a DTW side arm, HI can make great use of them as they can tank an aro from what ever they are torching. It allows for other ways to engage things beyond just throwing dice at the problem, if the rest of them picked up a LFT or maybe E/M grenades would be interesting. For a meaningful side arm on the ML give it a LSG or SMG.

as for mixed link I wouldn't mind seeing them mix with wildcats to some degree.

    Mixed links are the devil.

But seriously, "let's link this good but suboptimal troop with 2 cheaper troops so we can give it link bonuses on the cheap" is lazy design at this point.

I think it works for the Observance, because they're all fundamentally similar (you could build Healers, Custodiers and Moiras as the same profile if you really wanted to cut down profile / unit bloat). This means you don't get the HI + cheerleaders dynamic.

The real challenge is going "how do we get a traditional HI link to work without Frenzy". I think it's possible to build something viable if not optimised for non-LI 300pts.

And that's fine: we're not the HI faction our HI should be supporting our MI and REMs.

What I don't want to see is the Tunguskan solution: there's effectively only 2 cores, Hollowmen and Securitate/Grenzer. Mixed Wildcat/MB Cores would see the same change.

I'd prefer to see Tsyklons and/or Lunokhods mixed with Wildcats than mixed Wildcat/MB links. Or Mech Deployment Hellcat profiles and a Mech Dep Hellcat Core replacing the MB Core option entirely.

Brigada are described as assault leaders I could see one getting linked with Wildcats. Unfortunately it would usually end up being an HMG brigada and that wouldn't look right imo. Maybe limit it to a special Haris requiring the Brigada Haris profile choice of Multi rifle.

I don't like the idea of a Mech deploy Core I would probably limit it to duo or max Haris.
