@RattlerNxt : Thanks a lot for the lists! I have to say I didn't like them too much before the tournament, but after having had some reality checks my own lists, I like them a lot more.

So as promised a quick summary of the tournament:

I finished 12th / 30, which I would consider a pretty bad result for myself. I lost the last game with my data tracker being only 1 centimeter too far away to reach the console, otherwise I'd have made 4th place. But I got lucky in so many other games that I wouldn't want to claim that I'd have "deserved" a better placement. Overall I just wasn't very concentrated and made quite some avoidable mistakes. I am stressing this to point out that StarCo really has a lot of potential in tournaments.

    Game 1: Supremacy vs. PanO

I won this game 9:2 mainly by being able to deploy the Alguaciles link on a rooftop, which allowed me to move them into a sector. Emily then killed loads of support troops and two ODD spitfire REMs and a Nisse MSR. Rest was just somehow getting rid of a Father Knight, Hexa KHD, Akal FO.

    Game 2: Rescue vs. Bakunin

We played on a very open table with two very suboptimal deployment zones. My opponent made pretty much all his arm rolls in the first half of the game and I ended up without sufficient orders to remove e.g. a Moderator Sniper on a roof, who could see pretty much 60% of the table. My opponent was one of the good players so I am not too bummed about finishing this game 0:0.

Game 3: Highly Classified vs. Corregidor

We played on a very open table and my opponents list didn't really have redundant specialists. The game ended 9:1 for me. The main take away message here was that my opponent was REALLY unhappy about me using spec fire out of a building (after opening one door..). For him this broke the immersion of the game play. Its easy to argue that indirect fire is a part of the game and the rules are abstract so deal with it, but I don't think I want to long term play a list that ruins peoples mood in that way. Maybe this deserves a thread on its own..

Game 4: Transmission Matrix vs. CA (played by the current German champion)

In this game I faced the current German champion, who holds this title after defeating my Steel Phalanx with his Tohaa in the last round of the German championship. That game was a quite devastating loss, so it feels quite good that this game ended 4:4.

    Game 5: Acquisition against Tohaa

This is the only game I didn't use the Emily list in and I lost 1:2. If my Riot Grrl Datatracker wouldn't have been 1 cm away from the objective, it would have been a 6:2 win. Still it was a very enjoyable game against a very cool opponent.

    My good list:

The list with the MB core consisting of MB HMG, Massacre BSG, Daktari and a Harris of Riot Grrls and Avicenna was a bad concept. I should probably have used the second list to build a slight variant of the first, which is more tailored to Rescue.

The list admittedly was also chosen because I finished painting some models and really wanted to use them (Hellcat, Uhahu). Next time I'd probably try to run something like this:

    [IMG] Emily is my girl!

Probably also not optimal, but I think this list should play a bit more freely with more infiltrators and less units bunched up in links.

Getting the data tracker to the console would have me win the game by 6:2 instead of loosing 1:2. That would have bumped up my tournament points to 10, which would have gotten my 4th place looking at how many tournament points most people had. I remember only 3 people being above 9 tournament points.

You said you didn't do well enough. Either you've been tournament stomping until now or that's ridiculous.

Well, my goal was to get people excited to play StarCo by finishing very well in this tournament.
Looking at me finishing 3rd / 40 on the last GWT, 5th / 40 at the last German Championship and 17th / 100 on the last Interplanetario, I’d say that 12th / 30 is a subpar result. I dont mean to sound cranky about this, I had a great time at a very well organized event, I just didn’t play as effectively as I think I usually do.

@ZlaKhon there's always some skill drop when you switch to units you aren't familiar with and/or lose units you relied on. You're still doing well.

Yeah I'd say that's respectable, even if it's below your usual average!

If I recall correctly I told you the evening before that you should go with the Emily list, @ZlaKhon

Yeah, that list would have probably done better. I‘ll play a couple of casual games and then revisit list building for StarCo more extensively.
