I know you have never played one.
I suggest trying this profile. I played Haris of Briscards (HRL + Doc & Haris with Marksman Rifle) in Merovingia and I can assure you: twin-linked HRL is no joke. (I admit, the MSV1 on the Briscards proved to be pretty useful, though not a game-changer.)
Brawlers have issues, no-one doubt this (for the draw-backs, I kindly refer you to my previous post), but they do have advantages, access to HRL being one of them.
    Time to play-test, I presume!

I was playing around with this as a possible list. I kind of like it. Not perfect/impossible to top but it seems like a very different take then most of what I've seen on the army.

That's... really interesting, @TheRedZealot . I see you've built the brawlers to have the option to run either in one team of five with a replacement or two teams of three. Thoughts on which you'd use more often?

For me I think that the board will dictate that more than anything. Do I have a lot of long fire corridors to fight over? Or Do I need to try and dominate a singular area?

I realized I ended up ditching smoke to save SWC after the fact and ended up with a krigel team that didn't offer much to me. I think either of the below might be slightly better.

Kriigel in that fire-team lays down smoke much more reliably than the Kerail. Kerail rolls only one die on 14, Kriigel rolls two on 15. (30% failure rate vs 6% failure rate...) That is a world of a difference. Kriigel's good range is 16' whilst Kerail's 8. When needed Kriigel can extend the range significantly: two dice rolling on 6 still gives you a chance of a coin flip up to a whopping range of 48' - pretty crazy. Kerail just can't go above 16'.
Kriigel gives you access to Mirrorball. Now you can blind everybody and anybody. Safe passage for everyone.
I firmly believe this is .5 SWC very, very well spent.
    Edit: typo corrected.

@Káosz Brigodéros +1, agree with you

is a very solid unit to put in a triad, also the crowd control with Erase pherotactics gives him an extra plus of utility

The Kriigel is definitely good. That was why I started off with it. But trying to fit it in just felt a little excessive ultimately. The Kerail provides me with smoke for the MSV which is most of what I want it for since I'm not looking to get too aggressive. It also provides more close range defense units for anything pushing aggressively on my long range pieces. I also get some valuable utility in the form of the Biovisor (our local group has a fair few Impersonators floating around) as well as E/M Grenades. If you definitely want the Kriigel more I'd say probably this:

No tri core is interesting. Also I am would put the msv sniper in the core fire team group so you atleast have the option of putting them there.

I think they are too fragile not to have that core bonus :(

    Cool lists though!

Hey guys. I have an upcoming tournament soon and one of the missions is Highly Classified. I struggle finding a list that I like. Any suggestions?

I would rearrange the combat groups a bit. I've personally found that the Reex Triad in group 2 with a couple irregulars (1-2 helots, warcor, madonna) and maybe 1 extra regular order if you have it) is really good since on turn one you're really spending your Kriigel's orders to either put down Mirrorball or smoke. That leaves group 1 for your Taagmas, Draals, Kiuutans, Chaksas, etc. The alternative is to put your Clipsos with two Chaksas and a pile of irregular orders in group 2, which leaves command tokens for reforming links, potentially moving the clipso to group 1, and not needing to command token any irregular orders to regular ones. I've generally found that I need at least 9 regular orders on the table in group 1 at the beginning of the game.

List 2 I would just consider moving the SMG Draal to group 1 and having him join Neema and the Tricore Taagma. Neema has a beefy B4 weapon and decent BS to start with so shooting through Stratuscloud isn't something she'll care about and she'll love the extra Burst advantage against some pieces. I would really love to have the points for a Kaeltar/Mates in this list but I just don't see them anywhere, though I definitely would try to find room for at least 1 Kauuri.

    Play a different army lmao

I'm only half-joking, I think Spiral Corps is incredibly weak at classifieds due to the lack of decent specialists besides Specialist Op (Draal) and FO (Clipso). You need to take a lot of weird or unusual units to make some of the missions happen. Aelis is actually really good at a lot of the classified deck since she has a Sensor and an HD. Neema Lt is probably likely, Kaeltar CoC is useful, Draal is your main D-Charge carrier, etc. It's just really hard as spiral corps to cover all those bases compared to a lot of other armies.

I think the best specialist in Spiral outside Clipsos and Draal are the one you can put in a Triad. We don't have cheap solution so it's probably better to use our point to make our specialist effective at survive.
Taagma Hacker is good, Kosuil Engineer is costly at 29 point, but he come with 2 Wound and a K1 Combi. Jager for 18 point is a good Paramedic.

I think the main point of Classified is to give up some FirePower to have more specialist and chance to do classified. In this regard Triad help giving our specialist a nice edge. Rememeber that a Vanilla Taagma is a nice Triad filler for 16 point.

Something like this is not cheap, but if cosider that you have your specialist in a Link Team with 2 wound and that Kriigel with Smoke GL is a must have for every list thing don't sound so bad. Just put in some cheap Chaksa for orders.

Piggy backing on the Highly Classified discussion, I'm playing in a spec ops tourney this weekend that is using countermeasures and after testing last night I'm pretty sure ill be playing Tohaa instead of Spiral. My list could've been more tailored to that mission but without veteran (Didn't run a kiel saan), elite, HI, MI troopers there was two whole turns where I had nothing that could complete objectives. My opponent was able to nab sabotage before my Draal could essentially winning the game on that move.

For countermeasures or Highly Classified I feel like using both Neema and Aelis is your best bet, I would have felt a little better with this list.

Probably should replace the Kiiutan for an FO Clipsos but I really like the Kiiutan. All the triads are interchangeable based on what is across the board from you but most likely start with Neema in the Tri-Core with the Kriigel.

Weird Tangent but spec ops really throws me off in Spiral, I made mine a super specialists and put him in the Tri-Core last night to try and drag him up the board last night but that was 100% the wrong move. The kriigel is so useful in the Tri-core and I really felt not having him..

I think the Kumotail in Classified is a nice piece. Having the chance to have both a Doctor and and Enginer that can go in a Triad goes a long way in Spiral to help us bringing more specialist.

I understand the love for Kiutan, even if I have to admit I prefer the Grief OP by a large margin thanks to MSV1.
Testing around with List building I came out with this :

I have 2 main Triad and the formation depend if I go first or not. If I go first Neema + Tri-Core + Kriigel try to rock the house and bringing down more enemy they can to open the road to the specialist. Otherwise the Tri-Core goes in a link with the Sniper Taagma and Kaeltar while Neema get the Kriigel and a specialist at choice between Kumotail or Taagma Hacker. Preceptors is a nice option to have to threat enemy that come to close and the 2 Chaksa in the secondary group can be trasnfered in the first when you need start to lose model.

My opinion 2 Helot are enough if you have a defensive Link.

More I try new list more I understand that with Spiral if you want to have a chance at Classified you have to leave home all the cool piece and play with the basic letting the Triad rule carry us.

Spiral has not many FOs or Hackers,
    but it has PheroBoosters!
But can you accomplish 'Mapping' with a PheroBooster as well,
or just 'Telemetry' and 'HVT: Designation'?

White hacking Taagma and Pherobooster Kriigel are not models I had considered. I'm going to take a look at those and see what I can come up with.

I wish I had time to test it before this weekend but I think the Kiel Saan might answer a lot of our countermeasure issues. Instead of forcing in Neema and Aelis the Kiel Saan can complete all the veteran and HI classifieds as well as the CC classifieds.

After mulling over what others have said I might take this list blind into my Spec-ops tourney this weekend.

You are giving up Test run and Identity check but if you make a Kiel Saan your datatracker then your big meaty Kiel Saan Triad can complete 9 of the objectives and obviously fight to anywhere on the board that it wants. If its your turn and telemetry is on the board just Tri-core the fart cannon and blast someone.

The list lacks AROs outside the Helots and any tricks like Impersonators or hidden deployment but in my two test games I've found that you need to aggressively take classifieds and put the pressure on your opponent to start going after classified he might not want.

The Kaauri can make Identity Check,
and it has STR for Test Run.
