    How about Keesan? Messes with the points a little bit meaning your opponent might think somethings up. But might bait out a random hacking attack to try and clear her out to get at Neema?

    I've seen a few people throw this idea about but few people have thrown out the idea of dropping the 'brawler sniper' to deter people advancing. Not a bad idea, as long as you're ready for it to be challenged.

    I'll be running this tonight I think ended up getting a box and building over the weekend.

    All Taagma Tri-Core eh? Would certainly be one scary sniper. Now I get from the name you're going with just the new box, but I feel like the FO or Minelayer Clipsos is always the better option. Then change the third reex to a baggage auxilar or something like that...

    Sure why not its cheap and looks effective. The original plan was to Holo it up as a Taagma WHD with 2 Chaksa buddies but I left one of my Auxiliars at home.

    Yeah I would have done that but I specifically wanted to use the whole box and didn't want to fuss too much to try and grab the last 2 pts.

    So I played last night my opponent wanted to practice Biotechvore for an upcoming Tournament. So I rejigged the groupings in the list to make it more competitive for that mission then gave it a go.

    Game: 300pts, Biotechvore
    Lists:
    Yuan Yuan, Druze Duo, Kaplan Haris, Janissary Core
    Note: I likely rebuilt the list a little wrong
    Vs.
    Starter Box+
    Note: I failed every single PH roll to deploy outside my zone. And I rolled super jump on the Keilsann.

    Game Review: The game as a whole was wierd but fun. Terrain was quite dense with a small open courtyard to my left of center and a big objective room to my right of center.

    I deployed my Keilsann Triad, and 2nd Group Reex to my left. Kriggel Triad, Clipsos and Kiuutan in middle. Taagma took up the right flank.

    He deployed Kaplans on my right. Druze on my left. Jannissarys in the middle. So far so good.

    I took my first turn and pushed up aggressively. I took the risk and left the clipsos back in favor of pushing the reex out of the zone so I would roll less saves. On my right the Taagma sniper peaked a long corridor to try and suppress movement while the Draal and Keilsann moved up left. I made 2 major mistakes. The first was dropping the Dazer over the squad's end point in the hopes of deterring Yuan Yuan airborne deployment with the terrain zone. The second was leaving the Krigel in cover to watch the objective room door instead of a Reex.

    He deployed two Yuan yuan in on my left and failed a jump on the other which ended up far right. His troops pushed up quickly beat my Viral sniper, took out the Reex from group 2 and knocked one Draal down.

    My second turn started with 6 orders and not a whole lot to push into safely. He grouped up heavily in the objective room and to the right of it. My keilsann ate up most of the orders jumping down and pushing in since the stratuscloud on my dazer had already burned off. My LT ended up knocking a Kaplan down and then everyone involved got coordinated into a suppressive state.

    I ended up killing his LT in turn 2 and this helped break water against the swing back. He had trouble pushing back into all the suppressive troops. By the end of the game we were both pretty heavily crippled both having had a Loss of LT turn.

    Final Score: 3 to 3.

    General Thoughts:

    The game was a wierd one. It opened with me being unable to really pass a roll. And ended with my opponent in the same situation. In all I think there 2 crits. Major mistakes included:
    • Not utilizing Eraser to its full effect to mess with the Jannisary link.
    • Deploying a Dazer in a spot that caused problems for my own Stratuscloud guy.
    • Rolls also really heavily tweaked the way the game played out in a somewhat negative way.
    Highlights included:
    • Apart from the Alguacil, 1 Kaplan, 1 druze and the 3 Yuan yuan every single model my opponent lost was killed by the Keilsann. (~140pts)
    • For a game that started pretty catastrophically poorly and with a list not optimized to the mission it still went ok.
    • During turn three the Keilsann ended up shooting down a Janissary. Punching a Druze in the throat. Punching a hafza in the throat. Punching a second Jannisary in the throat. Then pistol fighting a pair of Kaplans that pushed into the objective room on him. In all he wasted about 3/4 of my opponents final orders before finally falling and stopped my opponent from being able to move far enough to store a secondary and pull ahead. At the same time if he had lived I would have come out ahead majorly in the primary objectives. Very pleasantly surprised by the damage output.

    Why did the Dazer cause problems for the Draal?

    The overlapping saturation zones reduced a lot of my outgoing ARO's unnecessarily. I had been careful to position in such a way that one Stratuscloud covered only the active draal and the Keilsann who was holding a longer corridor but the dazer extended out to lap all three fire team members and a Reex. While it didn't directly ruin anything if I had been more directly pressured on that side of the board or there were more of my models in the area it would have been a major problem.

    Hahaha that is a hilarious idea

    You could also pretend to be Le Muet (maybe more plausible to be on his own?).

    Woo, go Kiel-san! Wasn't able to play him this week (mission was Comm Centre, so had to focus on cramming specialists in) but looking forward to getting him on the table :)

    So, in the end it was a tie, 4-4, but I was in control of the game from turn 1 (I started) until the end of his turn 3, where he had the perfect moment and was able to change a 6-2 to a 4-4.

    Resume:
    I started, on my right flank I had the Tricore triad, the warcor and 1 Draal who had the Xenotech. Also had two Chaksa and the Kaeltar hiding.
    On my left flank I had my Brawler's core on a mountain with the Taagma MSV2 and the Brawler HRL prone and ready to shoot everything. The second Draal (with one of the symbiomates was there ready to get one of the consoles).

    He had the alguacil core, a moran, the total reaction, a jaguar with xenotech and a flash pulse bot on my Tricore side and McMurrough, Moran, Intruder, two bots and one jaguar on the other side.

    I took the total reaction out with the Brawler HRL one the first order (lovely Fire :D) what allowed me to push forward with the Tricore triad. Neema took out two Koalas, the Moran and I placed Neema ready to fire back whatever he showed and the other two on cover.
    On my left side I was able to activate two consoles and use my xenotech placing the multiscanner. 5-0 for me at that moment.

    On his first turn McMurrough ran forward and was able to chain rifle my brawler HRL, my Taagma MSV and the Draal, taking the first two and fucking my symbiomate and dealing 1 wound to my Draal.
    After that he tried to push with his core but Neema took down the Brigada HMG and the Warcor flashed two alguaciles, although by the end he made Neema go unconscious.
    ON the other flank the Intruder went savage killing the Warcor, one Draal, putting the other one unconscious, killing one Chaksa and putting the Tricore Taagma unconscious. Still 5-0 for me, although my left flank is severely damaged and my right flank was also quite fucked.

    Second turn, I started by moving 2 chaksas left into group 1 and healing Taagma Tricore and Neema. One of the chaksa was able to use Sensor and discover the Intruder allowing one of the Brawlers with light shotgun to shoot him from the back and kill him. With the rest of the orders I moved the Brawler core, moving them into cover so I could protect the console as well as healed the Draal. On the right flank the Tricore was able to take down almost the rest of the Alguacil core except Valerya and two Alguaciles, and also was able to get my secondary. 6-0.

    On his second turn he pushed with the rest of the Core but Neema took down one of the Alguaciles before dying and the Taagma Tricore took down the other Alguacil, leaving only Valerya left. On the left side he tried to push with the Jaguar who died to my AROs, however, he was able to place the multiscanner. 6-1.

    On my final turn I just moved the Kumotail and the Taagma Tricore trying to protect the right console while I did the same with my Brawlers on the left console. 6-1.

    His final turn was where everything was turned around. The right side couldn't do shit and Valerya died by an ARO, so it was on the hands of the Moran. He had 5 orders and needed 4 orders to move around a mountain and activate the right console which was controled by me. On the first two I could ARO with the Brawler with the Light Shotgun, hitting him but he saved both shots. He arrived to the right flank where my Taagma Tricore shot him once and he again saved the BTS shot. He moved and risked it all on the last order doing a move-activate console allowing me to shoot him twice for free. He made the roll and activated the console (therefore I lost it) and at the same time he again saved two wounds (one ARM and one BTS). Final result, 4-4. (1 console each, both did secondary and both placed multiscanner).

    Overall the game was awesome and I'm liking Spiral Corps more and more.
    The Brawler core was working wonderfully, shame that my rolls on that Chain Rifle were complete shit and I didn't save neither of them. I could've healed them with the Doctor but I had to use 3 orders as they were on top of the mountain and we decided it was very difficult terrain, so I could only move once and using the second mov value (4'' anyway).
    The Neem Tricore triad is still super strong, although I have to try to let the Kumotail go free and have two servants and include a Draal with AP Marksman Rifle on the Triad.

    Definitely gotta try the double Kiel-Saan special triad and the suplantation guys as I haven't been able to use them yet (wanted to try other stuff).

    I already tried the Kiel-Saan, but only one and without a triad. It did well making a Ko Dali need 7 orders to kill him.

    Once I try them again, specially using the double Kiel-Saan triad I'll leave a review on that topic :D

    I'm waiting for the box set too, damn...at least for now I have stuff to build, those awesome Brawlers...

    Love them to be honest. I've heard that quite a lot of people consider them expensive at 16pts the cheapest profile, but for a LI with ARM 2, BTS 3, BS 12, PH 11, WIP 12 that can form haris, core and duos I feel they are more than ok.
    Basic profile has a Rifle + Light shotgun so he can hit at 15s or 18s at medium or short distances, and in cover (which you should always be) it's ARM 5, like a HI.

    Yes, it's an expensive core team, but well placed, between the MSV 2 Taagma, the HRL and if you include it, the MSV 2 Brawler...that's a strong defensive link, and you still have space for other stuff.

    In fact, I have a list with the super defensive core (MSV Taagma, MSV Brawler, HRL Brawler, Doctor and one normal guy), as well as the special double Kiel-Saan triad, a Kaeltar and more stuff, a....13-14 order list. And two Kiel-Saan, both with Symbiomates and the Kaauri with First Aid...they can push A LOT (it's ARM 7 on cover...).

    Well wip12 is pretty low for and they would have several interesting specialist profil if they had just 13...
    For 20 pts brawler engineer
    For 22 pts you have triad kumotail.
    Not the same use but ....

    brawler in spiral are a joke:
    16 pts guy -> taagma
    sniper-> taagma
    engineer-> kosuil (4pts you get +1W +2WIL and a fucking panzerfaust !!!)
    medic-> kumotail

    only usefull profile is the AHD but who play AHD anymore without camo or TO ?? KHD are in ALL games
    and maybe the rocket launcher: I don't know I have never played one

    Taagma are only AVA3, mate, and are in sharp demand elsewhere in the sectorial. I'll admit I probably won't play brawlers a huge amount but for those that do there's some solid synergy in a fireteam of three plebs, a Taagma MSV2 sniper and a brawler doctor hanging out next to it to pick it back up when it goes down (taking advantage of shock immunity on the Taagma nicely there to boot).

    The AHD is really solid, actually. SSL2 AHDs are really uncommon, and an AHD in your DZ is usually pretty safe until you need it.

    Being able to have any guy in the link pop out with an MSV2 Sniper is pretty solid too. The HRL isn't great, but you can laugh at people who try to smoke past you as you pop out and shoot them.

    I agree most of the profiles are kind of average compared to what the Chaksa Baggage special triad gives you.

    Except that Taagma are AVA3 and you are always gonna use at least the Tri-Core, so that's AVA2 for you.

    Sniper Brawler has same BS than Taagma with +1ARM and +3BTS.

    And yes, Kosuil or Kumotail are better engineer or doctors, but if you have a Kumotail in a triad for example, is not that bad having a WIP 12 doctor in your 5-man core.

    Sorry, Brawlers are not a joke in Spiral.
