I want to get one of these Hulang models and make it fit into my converted PanO or Foreign/White Company Merc force. Yu Jing has some great armor designs & I like to mix them with PanO's designs when possible.
Yep I've got a Kanren waiting to go. It was giong to be Tian Gou but I'm not that big on them anymore. I know what you mean. I don't like most other HI but there's some others like then new Haqq Hacker that looks fantstic.
I'll have to look up that new Haqqislam hacker and see it for myself. But ya I agree that there are nice designs across different factions. Makes building Merc sectorials have more variety in their looks. Though, as I mentioned before, the possibility exists for intermingling the designs into the major factions.
Mercs are perfect for this. I also do Ikari, Dahshat, White Company (all of the ones that have some YJ). My Ikari I'm making every single figure different because I think of them as pirates that individualize themselves.
Looking for some help from you guys. I'm trying to come up with a color scheme for my Morats. I'm finally getting to them because I'm tired of Yu Jing. Painting anyway. I want all of my Combined to have a unifying theme though. I've already done my Shas in Red-Browns with greys and greens. I was going with at "IT came from the Swamp!" kind of theme. I want to be different with Morats but not so jarring they look like they are from a completely different army. The bases are going to be the same swamp/marsh bases. I'm still thinking natural colors. I'm sick of green however since most of my YJ force is green. Maybe Tan-Ivory armor? Note: My CA are bronze with the same jade green I use for my Yu Jing for the "organic" parts. Also, i'm thinking Grey and dark red for my CA Tohaa. Yes these are 1st edition painting lol. I still love them.
First the Shang Ji I finished a while ago but haven't gotten an image done. They look great for figures I'll hardly use. Next here's my first Morat! I think he came out great. I'm now working on my Rodoks and will have some images soon.
I didn't think tan ivory would work. but After seeing your Morat painted up I think it is a good fit for the Murder Monkeys.
Im really happy with it and the Rodoks I'm working on now. I'm looking forward to getting more now. I want the Rasyat and Zerat next.
Next up Bai Hu! (McMurough) for my Dahshat Tigers of the West. His sword unfortunately broke off and I can't find it, but I wanted to finally paint him and I can do the sword separately. I wish I could find a Tiger Hook sword for him!
This is an amazing paint job & the conversion concept sounds fun. Good work on changing the Dogface model to fit your force's theme. Is there a way to make your own Hook Sword or another model that has one on it?
Thanks man. I don't have the means right now. I know a few that have 3d printers but no idea what goes into doing that. I have this guy but I don't want to destroy him. I want to try to copy his sword.
