Now to show off some fun things I just got from my friend and his laser cutter! I created some billboards and signs that can go on my buildings to give them a bit more character. I'm not sure how to paint them without loosing the burnt etching. I'm thinking I need to get wood stain instead of the usual paint. It's hard to see but the third image as an acrylic sign hanging off the building.
I've got a bit of dilemma. I just got some Kaplans. They are going to be used for White company as well as proxies for Brawlers. My colors for much of my Yu Jing is the Jade and Greys, My Dashat, which I see as a Yu Jing sub sectoral in a way, is light greys and Dark Greys. I'm also going to be doing White company because I like some of their stuff more than White Banner. Should I do shades of Grey with Jade or Maybe something totally different? ISS IA and WB Dahshat
Maybe jade and white with an emphasis on the white. Enough contrast from the light grey but with jade for consistancy.
I like that, or light grey and jade. It's something I might incorporate into Dashsat as well. Just add a bit of Jade to tie them into the rest of my Yu Jing. Iss: Dark Grey with Jade IA: Jade with Dark Grey WB/WC/Dashat: Light Grey with Jade.
Finally got motivated. Even with a broken airbrush, still trying to get some painting done. But slower though.
@Space Ranger Despite your broken airbrush I see no difference in the quality of your work. Nice freehand on the camo-cloak.
Thanks man! I'm glad I at least got it to the same but it did seem to take a little more time and technique.
Normal brush work does take more time & technique compared to Airbrushing. I suppose that is one of the main advantages of the spray machine that attracts people. Glad you still were able to continue your work despite your airbrush loss. Are you going to get a replacement soon?
That's up in the air. A friend that owes me is supposed to order it for me. I've had to remind him several times now.
In other words you are semi held hostage unless this friend delivers by christmas so to speak or you become impatient and buy one yourself.
Finally an update. My Kaplan/Ye Mao/Brawlers. For my White Banner/Company. My figures for the the WB/C are going to be mostly light grey with some dark and small parts with the jade green.
I'm not familiar with the old sculpts, but that zhanshi hacker looks very nice and characterful. Other than the really fat guns that I don't like, the old sculpts seem to have something that the CAD sculpts lack.
They were designed 1:1, in hand, physically, so the sculptor knew how they would look and was experiencing the limits while creating them. IOW, never "texture because I can, even if such detail will be lost while removing flash", others say they have "soul". A good number of oldies would be OK now with small changes like the weapons.
Finally after years of waiting to get one, I have it and got it painted. It wad delayed because of breaking my airbrush
