That may be doing something weird, too.

I use VMC vermilion (and sometimes scarlet) for highlighting reds.

Finally an update. This 1st ed. Hsien is now my Dahshat Hulang. Known as Black Lion. Got a few details to do yet but he's table ready I think.

Now for my Dahshat Zhencha. 1st ed Daofei with cut off HMG to now be a Boarding Shotgun! I'm really happy to get new life out of old figures.

I had a bit of a holiday painting day. Two figs in one day! Here's my Brawler MSR (Taagma Schemer, hey he counts as a brawler in Spiral lol) I wanted to do something different with him for colors but ended up going with colors i've been doing a lot with my Yu Jing. I did it because he's going to serve a few roles. Brawler in Dahshat, Armand in Yu Jing and Ikari, maybe even bounty hunter if I roll up a sniper booty. This paint scheme allows him to go with all of my armies fairly well.

I accomplished a lot on the holiday (Thanksgiving in tthe US). I had already primed, zhenithal highlighted and did a coat of glazed jade green. Then on the weekend i did all of the rest. I’m really liking using glaze medium. I was almost ruining all of the pre-highlights I did before. So here’s my Liu Xing and Krit Kokram.

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: no chicken emoji! Yes and no. They were on him previously. but then i was like, "ef-if!" after I stripped him. so more lazy than anything. I never thought they looked good anyway. I'd say this looks more "Hulang-ish". lol

Update! Sort of. I've been working on terrain lately. See that here.

So being poor can have it's advantages. Especially with being creative.

First, I've been wanting a new way to attach my minis to something for painting. I don't want to buy one of those expensive holders though they do look useful. right now I just use pieces of wood with blue tack but i need to lay it down for drying or not in use. So I've found the below at Hobby Lobby. My figs are all magnetized and this jar has a metal lid/cap/whatever, it also cost all of $2 (change in the car). I had to add a few more magnets around because i found with only one at the bottom, the fig would "spin".

Next is this kitty. I found him in my FLGS in the discount bin, the fig is from this. It's a lot bigger than I thought and I was thinking of using him as a YJ statue, However, I realized it's about as big as a Maggy!! So now I'm thinking he's may Dahshat TAG!! However, I need to find some weapons to put on him. Anyone have ideas?

@Space Ranger Seems like it is worth a try. Do you have any Infinity weapons that would suffice? Would another 3rd party bit/piece work for the HMG & Missiles?

A tail with missiles would make that lion into an amazing manticore.

I'll be keeping my eye out for something. I don't have anything myself right now. There's two perfect spots on his back for mounting weapons.

Finally an Update! You'd think being stuck at home for months I'd get a bit more done but It's been hard to get motivated.

Here's my old Shang Ji. She's a bit small but she still kicks ass!

Looks cool even though I'll probably never use him.

Re-painted Yan Huo. He was White and Grey with some Green. Now he matches the rest of the force.

@Space Ranger Procrastination & lack of motivation. The two biggest roadblocks to the hobby and nearly everything else in life. At least you pumped out good looking miniatures with nice unique color scheme.

I tried to see covid as a positive for getting figs done lol. But working at home (which I'm grateful I can do), hurts my back. The thought of sitting in my chair painting more hasn't appealed to me until recently.

Finally! after years of the minimal colors for a tournament, literally years, I've finished my remotes! I went with same colors but different schemes to make them easier to identify on the table. I can still ad some detail to the bases but I'd like to do all of my figures at once with that.
