Then those Nomads lead you into collecting StarCo and ForCo, and between ForCo and MO you may as well round out the PanO collection. Then you find the White Company which quickly snowballs into a White Banner force as well! Goddamn this game is insidious!
I can't confirm O-12's unpopularity. The next tournament I will go to is for 22 Players and ther are already 4 players registered with 0-12. (Including me)
O-12 unpopularity is a meta myth, it vastly depends on local players, but overall it's not absent amongst the scene.
My friend was happy to get collection pack. O-12 makes him start playing infinity. That said something. But earlier I thought, that O-12 isn’t popular... May be because of their unitary style. And it fits them well. So, this is a question of taste. Not connected with popularity. (But I am seeing lots unsold Starmada boxes in our local shops. May be this made me think about unpopularity of faction.)
It might be a local thing, Ariadna popularity for example wax and wane locally depending on the amount of players who prefer a more modern and not sci fi look on their miniatures.
I don't want to start an new topic only for a short question, so I'll ask here. Since the Army App does not work as intended for troops with the holomask skill, how do you handle this? My problem is, that I'll go to my first tournament with O-12 next saturday and my lists include Cho, of course. So since I must have a list for my opponent without all secret infomations, but the app still shows Cho as she is, her holomask is not very usefull. Do you got any work arounds here? How do you handle holomasked troops on tournaments or in generell when you have to show your opponent a list??
Can't you show a fake list from your phone? You make your fake list after you deploy your Corsair Bashi Bazouk to maximize the enemy play mistake probability.
You would need multiple printed lists for maximum bait value against certain lists/scenarios/deployments.
My workaround in my last Satelite tournament: Reach out to the TO, explaining to them the problem with holomask. Send to them my two 'real list' for the tournament with Cho being Cho, which could not be printed as courtesy list because of the problem. And send to them two additional 'not real list to be printed as courtesy' that where identical to the two real ones... except that in them Cho is not included and the 'unit-to-be-holomasked-as-by-Cho' was included. They were kind enough to print the courtesy lists of those two 'not real list to be printed as courtesy', and not from the 'real lists', and that was the way I could show a courtesy list to my opponents during the tournament without revealing the holomasked Cho due to the error in the InfinityArmy.
Because the list has to be validated. The pretended model is more expensive than Cho, so the list would be over 300 points and this is shown on the list.
Ah, that's unfortunate. I usually holomask Cho as less expensive units than her, and that's why the workaround works in that case. If you want to holomask Cho as a lonely Bronze or Betatrooper, which I assume that's your intention, I am afraid that while the InfinityArmy error is not fixed it you would not be able to print a courtesy list, nor one that 'seems to be the courtesy list'.
I did it! I've found a workaround in the app. I noticed that if you chose a unit that is alread in your list, it works. So I made a list with Cho AND the pretended Model and suddenly the model was two times on the list. Then I deleted the real model from my list and now Cho was shown as the masked model.
Interesting... so the holomask problem is dependant on not the actual state of your list at the time you want to print it, but it is dependant on the previous calls made to the database of the app for a given profile. I suggest you report all of this in the thread and bugs, and it will help whoever it is in charge in CB of the App to fix it.
According to the internet, from the latest WIP12 podcast, CB may release a Sectorial based on the O-12 and the Defiance crew (possible name Revenant Mobile Intervention Force / Company Revenant). I haven't listened to that podcast, that's all I know. In the absolute, this info would evoke more of an NA2. Or be just a joke. E97: New Sectorial Announcement! https://anchor.fm/wip12podcast/episodes/E97-New-Sectorial-Announcement-e1ut1ch
I'm like 80% sure that's a joke. They say things that don't make sense, like an FTO Delta when I though AD skills meant you can't join fireteams, a Wildcard Gamma (which seems absurd), and the name just being "Defiance" instead of "Strike Team Daedalus" or something. Defiance is the name of the ship, and I assume the operation had a real name. When I listened to it one of the presenters sounded like they were on the verge of giggling over it. But also there's a small chance it's real, since CB makes odd choices and mistakes like that all the time. Remember when they added a Lasiq Marksman Rifle (Viral) and that isn't a valid ammo type or weapon. After a month or two they added it on the Wiki, but the app is still not fixed.
Near they end they said they were speculating about it and just making BS. But that was speculation about the new sectoral.
When they started coming up with stuff on their own. They didn't say they were speculating but they were.
My Warcor friend said that on the Warcor forums it was confirmed as fake, so hopefully that buries this speculation. Probably an April Fools episode that was accidentally released early podcast scheduling, and they are just enjoying reading the reactions. Thank God, since that would be one lame sectorial. Linked Gamma sounds really cool, but I hate named character spam.
