Aaaah, see, I didn't know that! Thanks!

And what do you guys think about Djanbazans? Their MSV2 is tempting, but I'm not sure I want to buy yet another Haqq box..?

Unless you're aiming for Qapu Khalqi, I'd try to get 1 Djanbazan. That's all you'll ever need in regular Haqqislam.

Just use the Govad HMG, if you want a proxy that is fitting well. It has a visor and a HMG, the Breaker Pistol can easily be a normal Pistol. Just dont use Govads in the same list then, so that there cannot be any misunderstandings.

I personally love the Djanbazan. I regularly use the HMG and sniper. I have used the shock marksman rifle to great effect, and all of the models are great for QK.

Ah yes, getting the box just for the Djan HMG if you are playing vanilla Haqq isn’t really worth it. You can get the Govad HMG blister as suggested, she makes a good proxy.

I used the Ghulam HMG from the Ghulam box to proxy for the Djan. The other models in the Ghulam box are also pretty useful and can decently proxy lots of things too. Hacker for Barid/Hawwa, Sniper for Leila/Lasiq/Hunza, Missile Launcher woman for a Daylami. It was one of my most “efficient” purchases when I started out in Haqq and I was trying different units out. Highly recommended to get the Ghulam box early.

    Okay, thanks! :)

A general question, if you guys don't mind: how many Doctors should there be in a team? Looking at the Haqq units, it seems that many of them have their own Doctors. There's a Ghulam Doctor, a Muyib Doctor, a Djan Doctor... Does it make sense to take more than one, then? Also, does it make more sense to have a Ghulam Doctor or, say, a Djan Doctor?

In Haqquislam it pays off to take a medic with any fireteam you want to move, and some Ghulam doctors as backup outside of links. Otherwise, it depends on what you need, frankly, since it depends on what you wanna do. For example, if you just want to have a hidden doctor that moves servitors around while healing an ARO HI, a Ghulam is enough because you won't be exposing him to enemy fire; but if you are playing Hassassin and want an offensive Haris and an ARO fireteam, you are limited to 4 ghulam (full core only with Leyla), and the Haris will mostly be made of an Asawira Spitfire, a smoker and a medic, so you need to decide if you want to expose 4 sniper ghulams, leaving Leyla as team leader waiting for her chance, or 3 snipers, a hiddne doctor, and leyla.

    Generally it's like this:

You want a link doctor? Take unit-specific doctor profile.

Content with a backline doctor that doesn't need to do anything other than get up units that are close to your DZ? Take Ghulam doc.

Want to support multi-wound low mobility models? Janissary doc will do it. Also doubles as sturdy specialist, maybe. And Janissary link doc, ofc.

Need someone to get up that midfield rambo? Halqa doc can handle that.

If it's the latter case, but you also want it to survive things (and blow up enemy offensive links, and push buttons), then there's Tuareg.

Anything else I've missed (besides Hakims we don't know much about yet)?

Oh, and ofc most of these (everyone besides linked profiles and Hidden Deployment) can, and often should employ nasmats.

    I see.

Re: Nasmats. Can one Doctor be linked to two or more Nasmats? I can't find a rule regarding this...

Yes, but only one nasmat may activate at a time.

    Thanks! :)

I played my second game today with a different list - for one thing, I included an Azrai'l. Good choice - it was nice having a trooper who was able to survive being hit multiple times during the game, receiving only 1 wound...

I bought myself a box of Djans. I hope they'll be useful...

All of them - definitely not, unless you're planning on playing QK.

Ah I play Vanilla Haqq, and the Djan Hacker model does a lot of moonlighting as other hackers in my Army, for when I want a second Barid for example.

Djan Doc also makes a good Janissary Doctor for me. Buying the Jannissary box set just for him wasn’t really worth it..

It's hard to not include DJB HMG or sniper if you are going with Mutts. Shooting trough smoke is a nasty tactic, yet
    • Your opponents get used to that with time
    • ExImpetious smoke troopers are hard to sustain sometimes.
Nowadays, i have moved into cheap Ghulam snipers and ML or HRL aro pieces, and if i wanna hunt down camo snipers i tend to use Govad HMG or Shibab with supportware. But me and my opponents value DJBois highly; decent armor, shock immunity, msv2...

    Actually, yes.
Most of my vanila list use Azrail and Shibab as Hmg/Lmg platform. If i am not going with Azra and i need 2nd platform, i am picking Djanbazan. But then, if i am short on points i could happily degrade him to Govad - enough to deal with camoed snipers.

It is definitely an option, if I am short on points, but I wouldnt do that happily, because the Djan is so much better for 6 mere points. Shooting through smoke, which you have a lot of, and Schock Immunity which is so big in Haqq with its Doctors and the abundance of Shock in todays meta.

Shock immunity on the Djans has gotten so much mileage in my games.
