I don't understand the Agility of Mutair. He only has «!». How can he generate a success «*» to disengage from an opponent?

Only with tactics. He is basicslly stuck with an opponent until he kills, gets killed, the other party succesfully disengages or you us a tactic providing dice/displacement etc.

I see. Why put the «!»? I see no use for it. Should have been a dash «---». My friend and I through it was a typo and the dice icon was missing.

Because you can still use his general switch (:3::3:: nullify a :1: of your opponent's roll if the target is adjacent). Meaning, if you roll :2::3:, not only you might succeed, but you also ensure that your opponent have to roll :1::1: to block you.

You can't roll a :2: if you are not rolling a die during a Disengage attempt. Agility for Mutair is only:3: with no die next to the Agility stat.

You realize you can add dice with your tactics, right? It's what @Croepoek is talking about. If you were to add a :.: with Focused, you could get a :2::1::3: result on the die, which adds to his natural :3: for a result of :2::1::3::3:. His general switch would swap :3::3: to get rid of his opponent :1:.

Murtair is intended to be "blood-thirsty". He doesn't have any dice on :Q:Agility because he doesn't want to disengage from his prey (and that's his main weakness). If you want him to get disengaged, you'll need to play one of his Tactics, a General Tactic to add a die or have someone :K:Focusing him.

Well, the Aristeia! game is set in the Infinity universe, so many characters have rules that somehow reflect how they also function in the etablished Lore & rules of Infinity. For example, Señor Masacre in Infinity the Game is equipped with an Amour Piercing Sword, this is represented in Aristeia! with him having a switch on his attack that nulifies :1:
Similarly, Murtair is a Dog-Warrior who all come with the skill Fury: Extremely Impetuous. The general description of Fury is this:

'The different levels of Fury denote the ferocity of a trooper when it enters combat, and whether he can be expected to disregard his own safety for a chance to destroy the enemy. The four levels of Fury are Extremely Impetuous, Impetuous, Frenzy, and Non Impetuous.'

And here's the description for the Extremely Impetuous, the highest level of Fury:

'Extremely Impetuous troopers crave only the thrill of combat, preferably up close and personal.'

This is the background explanation of why Murtair isn't able to disengage, its simply against his nature. He doesn't want to disengage, even if it's the tactically sound thing to do, he's too caught up in his bloodlust to care about trivial things like, scoring, objectives or even his own personal safety!
