How does that override “can never be in the Prone state”? That’s still holding on to a vertical surface.
At the very least, there is a conflict with that... Unconscious troopers must go Prone, and the Prone state prevents you from declaring climb... nothing prevents you, once climbing, to be forced Prone (you would not be able to move, however). Fuuuuuun: RAW a trooper with no Courage/Religious Troop in Climbing state failing Guts must go prone XDDD
I think the entry for climb that prevents anything from going prone effectively adds itself to the list you presented for unconscious. I think this was also asked before in the old forums and the two solutions people came up to rectify the language was that the trooper would either fall off of the wall or just stand there. While falling would certainly make more sense (to me) I think the "can only fall by using the jump skill" overrode it and so unconscious troopers are stuck with their feet planted on the wall.
Unconscious doesn’t say ‘must’, and I already quoted the rule saying that you can never be in Prone state while climbing, or holding onto a vertical surface.
"Unconscious troopers automatically fall Prone unless they are a Trooper Type unable to do so." from http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Unconscious I fail to see were the choice, option or decision is in that phrase. Funnily enough, in the spanish version it says "are considered prone", which is less strongly worded. But Prone is S0, "considered" or "automatically falling into" such state.
I think this may be a second language issue. ‘Never’ beats ‘automatically’ in English. And even if it didn’t, this bit: Is just flat-out wrong.
Colin’s pointing out that your logic for overriding ‘never’ would also override the inability of TAGs etc. to go Prone.
"Unconscious troopers automatically fall Prone unless they are a Trooper Type unable to do so." The expection is right there on the same rule... if it where as you say, it should include "or on a state preventing the Prone state" like climbing...
Again, this appears to be a second language issue. ‘Automatically’ just means that you don’t spend an Order etc, and that you have no choice as long as it’s possible to go Prone. It doesn’t override ‘never’.
That’s the actual question. The climbing+ trooper does not need to be in the ground, just travels through the wall (which can accommodate the base). So what would it prevent him going “wall walking”? There is nothing saying the whole S must fit, only the base, and it fits the wall so...
It may have to do with your word-choice. What you are trying to say is, walking on the wall, not "in" it.
Applying, so to speak, "vaulting" to use a wall as part of the movement has the same problem of the prone state in this situation, since aside from S3 and barely S4, I think all troops cable of Climbing Plus are taller than their base's size... And the S3 and S4 can't go prone anyway because are either remotes or bikes :(
See earlier in the thread. The Special Skills that involve changing Silhouette all specify that there must be room for the whole Silhouette.
Yes, sorry, English is not my first language :) So you are extrapolating, because nothing in the actual rules forbid this. Even when in this case you are nowhere close “changing silhouettes”. Makes “sense”, in a twisted way I believe. But still not in the actual rules.
