I think Id legitimately take it up with a TO if they told me to play on that table. Thats criminally badly set up, its not like you couldnt even make that terrain work but placing it in creative places, but thats just bullshit. That being said, Ive often found that discussing the tbale and talking through adjustments of it with my opponent before the LT roll is usually a solution, afteralll no one wants to lose the roll and get stuck wiht the crap side
I mean, sure but also: is a real thing which we have to consider. So the "table is terrible" situation can cut both ways. I certainly agree on the strength of Hidden Deployment and the Swiss rampage on poor terrain 'though. This can help a lot, 'though there are some styles of terrain setup that discussion and even minor adjustment can't save. I'd say that's unlikely, but there did seem to be a disproportionately large number of tables that I'd put into that category at Interplanetario. One thing to keep in mind 'though is that it WAS a Limited Insertion competition, which swings SOME of those tables back again because you don't need nearly so much deployment zone terrain with only 10 models.
You are absolutely right. Like @barakiel has seen in the US, we in Aus have a number of experienced players peruse the tables and tweak them as needed at our events. In fact just this weekend I was an an event where one of the tables was adjusted after being set up as it really was too open. It still ended up as a very open table, but on the whole was much better with the addition of 3 peices of larger scatter. I think its just something the community has to be aware of and honestly I think a poor table set up results in most tactical discussion being thrown out the window as the game devolves into a straight "who can roll better" rather than a game of strategic depth.
Indeed there is. She is a deep cover agent who has been involved in much of the recent chaos in the Human Sphere. But as far as NeoTerra is concerned she's an interesting aggressive midfield/offensive piece which might be somewhat useful.
I tested her on the weekend - in a shasvastii list admittedly - and found her good value. Viral Mines in particular have a lot of potential.
Yeah, terrain differences really change how some models play. That actually goes all the way down to models. Shikami, for example, really shine on very dense, very tall tables. But they're going to suck horribly on more open tables. Which means that win or lose the game, if you make that Shas Truly Dead, you win a moral victory regardless.
I'm excited for the miniature, but I think this is also a chance to highlight a good kitbash/conversion for a custom Hexahedron/Indigo operative. Using a proxy mini like that would help her feel a bit more at home in NCA. It makes me wonder what the PanO SMG will look like. I wish I had a design for it, to help inspire some conversions.
Would love to have something like Kriss or MP7 in spehssss, but I'm afraid it will look like a mix of a combi rifle and an assault pistol, with our usual ridiculous mag.
Climbing plus can be used to gain total cover. Suddenly you're only as high as your base. Of course you're giving up on partial though
So is she only going to be available to ITS winners? Or is another model to be available down the line?
As with all ITS exclusives, there will be a general release model with a different pose released near the end of the season. (see Cube Jager as an example)
Aida can deploy now with FD2 per ITS10 rules. Now I am more willing to take her. EDIT: she is not MI, nevermind :(
