And long time no see, courtesy of a massive conversion and painting project. 'Now Ivan, you must realize, the war is not over just because you topple a regime. They have to go somewhere, and then you have decades of revolution and counterrevolution as the former powers that be find ways to disrupt everything you built... sometimes you need some deniable people to help smooth over the transition.' Dashat: Extrajudicial Death Squads. Done dirt cheap. Vet Kazaks: Authorized Bounty Hunters Line Kazaks in gas masks: Ghoulams. Abu Azrael looking HI: Zhencha+Hulang Hafzas on steroids: Zuyongs Spetz: Hunzakuts Gas masked irregulars: Libertos, Bashi drop troop, and the lady in red is valyria gromoz. Augusto Pinochet: Noncom HVT (mmmmm, unmasking is fun)
And does it count as a conversion if it's made entirely of green stuff? 'Unknown' Ranger, USARF (or 'Space Force Commando' for Kosmoflot)
@Sergei Simonov I like that Unknown Ranger & the fact it is all green stuff is amazing. His face does seem familiar to the Donald. The yellow/blonde hair along with that sculpted face give that impression.
New edition, new paintjob. Hoping these boys get good in N4, but i finally am satisfied with a brigada paintjob.
Thanks. Your own thread was an inspiration and very helpful for determining color placement. That was a challenge, the Brigada by default look very heroic; I wanted something that oozed malevolence for my new ruthless space pirates. And N4 did not disappoint.
Fresh from the production line: Onyx Pattern Sphinx. I didn't like the OG sphinx mini, and was not a huge fan of some aspects of the new render (and god knows when it will actually be out), so the next best things was to make my own and customize it to my Onyx battle force. Green Stuff and armature wire, with a few bits of plastic from some 1/72 scale tanks
And time to get back to my roots. With N4 suddenly making CJC VERY good, having my old first gen paint jobs would not do. I don't have the patience to do full studio blends on them, but these WIP are shaping up to be good enough and match my new space pirate Brigada.
I have lost track of how many times I have rebuilt this guy, but after some time with a hacksaw and dremel now it lives as an Avatar
Ivan, the aliens also have commissars! No one likes Umbras in play, but the minis are just too good-- so I decided that given my dislike of Morat aesthetics, my Witch Soldiers should be these creepy cultist looking fellows
@Sergei Simonov These are great proxy ideas you have thought of. Never would I think to use Umbra for Daturazi or Dr. Worm's nurse helpers for Taighas. Creative thinking on your part for coming up with these & that is besides your conversion with the Avatar.
Thanks mate, I was torn between the worms and making dreadlocked old school Pretas, I ended up choosing whatever was cheaper on the local market. I am glad they turned out usable, though I am less enamored of the tusks/mandibles than I was at the start
