Breaker rifle with their puny damage and short range againts TAGs, wont work..
What about Ariadna which relies on AP weaponry for TAGS. NO hacking, very little BTS ammunition.

 

Well at least there seems a lot of E/M going around. Also only PH 13 for checks against adhesive.ammo.

 

... So in other words, it's like an HMG.

Compared to an HMG, a Thunderbolt (+2B) is -1 Damage and no Suppressive Mode. Compared to an HRMC, it's -AP/Shock ammo, -Anti-Materiel Mode, -1 Burst, -1 Damage, and no Suppressive Mode. It's much, MUCH closer to an HMG than it is to an HRMC.

 

Ariadna can use HRLs. Sure, you lose Continuous Damage, but the blast ignores cover, so it is only ARM 6 in a fight. The Ratnik and Chernobog can eat his lunch in active. Maximus is weak at range and has limited ARO options.

The lower damage and no suppressive makes the weapon different enough to exist IMO. It looks like it was created to have a long range weapon that was not either disposable or PS 5. I think it is a good addition.

 

Oh for sure; it was created to be a basic Long-Range gun that they could use to add long-range firepower without resorting to the old HRL or HMG. Makes for finer balance tuning.

I was just responding to the guy saying it was closer to an HRMC than it was to an HMG, because that's just crazy talk.

 

I don't remember the full rangebands, but isn't Thunderbolt basically Normal ammo Feuerbach?

But Jamie Arantes is S4 with guard. Where is the large base and the attacking companion (which every other Guard skill model have)?

Jamie is cool looking! Her colors are different from the rest of TB with that green. It makes her stand out a bit more. I’m wondering if they are changing the guard rule. Maybe she no longer has it?

PanO guys are good but not for me.

Dr. Harper however looks like a fantastic all-around cool scifi model. I’d use her for an RPG in a second.

 

Father-Knights are the same? Really? You rebrand them for a third time and use old models?

I am not complaining in the slightest, I have both of the old Father Knights and shall stomp them smugly.

 

I'm not sure if I'm a fan of TagCom. It makes no sense when the troopers in question are called TAG Pilots. Rename them as TAG Support or something, and it's better.

Still would make more sense to make pilots an upgrade option for each TAG separately, with people being able to choose different pilots with different upgrades for each of their TAGs.
PanO could get a similar option by way of having upgraded EVO version.

 

More troubling to me is that the old Rem racers could only do one bot at a time, but these guys walk in with field upgrades. Wonder how many multiple TAG lists we will see now, and then the salt when peeps lose missions as they drive armies into retreat or cant get buttons pushed for 'reasons'

 

So this is closer to the old Tech Bee with its board-wide buff. Fine, interesting. But I don't like that it is called pilot and that we might be loosing dismountable pilots in the process.
