That's what I'm getting at ;) But seriously, I don't expect Sepulchre to lose Holo. Maybe some small stat and skills tweaks, definitely new weapon options, hopefully stuff like Strategos and CoC.
I will be very very disappointed if they lose Holo. Holo is a fun skill and right now Sepulchre is our only source for it in game.
Personally. I'd love him to go up to BTS 6. I used my sepulchre as a line breaker. Using my Holo echoes to move through the mid field popping mines and fixing those lovely move, move..... Moves. Surprise shot a weak point in the line. Then move on in and start wreaking havoc on the backline. That and better weapons. Nanopulsers, boarding shotguns or marksman rifles. Hell, I'd even take a light shotgun underneath a multi rifle. Really I'd love some more survivability in that role. Although I know i'm in the minority in how the sepulchre gets used in that function. But I won't complain if they turn him into a command and control piece. I just liked using him as an atypical attack piece. Also disclaimer. I only play vanilla Pan'O.
I'd just like CB to give me an excuse to field my Sepulchre Knight miniature more often. Anything that makes it more useful. Anything, please.
Boring! We're ARE the TO faction, we don't need more TO, ODD, or Mimetism. It would make for an interesting addition to MO, but outside of that, he'd be competing with Swiss Guard, and it would make one of the two profiles effectively obsolete.
not if he had ODD instead of TO, and different weapons loadout . an MO ODD spitfire would be great, and it would be a completely different role than a TO ML or hmg
It would be really interesting if they gave him TO and beefed his CC skills up a bit, that way there isn't a ton of overlap with the Swiss guard.
Sarcasm? To be honest I usually leave the Swiss at home. In Vanilla it's very much an apples to oranges comparison. Obviously the Swiss is the superior of the two units, but it's also 12 points more expensive. Personally I find Holo2 much more useful, but it's also a higher skill skill. TO Camo you just apply to face until your opponent drops dead. :) Outside of TO:Camo/Holo2, it really DOES become harder to make a comparison. KotHS is better in CC than the Swiss, but the Swiss has +1 BS, +1 ARM, and +3 BTS. Assuming points remained the same, with ODD/TO it would become effectively the cheaper Swiss. I'd take the KotHS over the Swiss every single time. The slight stats boost isn't worth another order/Fusilier.
Hidden deployment alone is huge and plays significantly to the swiss strength. And if the sepulcher went odd the swiss would also have marker state on it as well + surprise shot. And an often take missile launcher profile. So swiss would remain a premier long range fire piece vs the sepulcher who would become an excellent midfield gun fighter.
I hope the Sepulchre keeps Holo, with perhaps a bit of a discount reflecting the fact that it's not as strong as the other marker states in the majority of tabletop engagements. But more than anything else I want to see some kind of special role for them. Better that they pick up Chain of Command and act as specialist/gunfighter generalists with a sidebar in C&C than doubling down on direct combat modifiers and becoming "Swiss Light".
Ok. Now, where is the platform for the demand of El Cid recreation? We need signatures, a thread and constant harassment to CB personnel. The sooner we start, the sooner we'll get it.
If Confrere rule was still in place Sepulchre Lt. could have a rule that it ignores it. Sepulchres are supposedly the "Deathwatch" of Military Orders, pulling from other Orders. But since this rule has been removed, Sepulchre should probably remain a solo knight, support to a Link of other knights. I like Holo since nothing else in PanO has it and people don't expect it. I found it easy for people to overlook there's 50pts missing when there's already some other heavy hitter and Sepulchre is posing as a cheap Specialist. Sepulchre needs a Specialist profile (dream would be CoC) and/or a long range weapon like ML or even MSR. Sure, not that great when you can't link him in active, but in ARO your opponent basically would have to guess which one to shoot – and it's easier to beat split burst than full one. They could also make several different versions of Sepulchre, each with a different rare equipment: one gets Holo, another Ambush Camo, yet another MSV2, another one is a Hacker...
