    Hi all,

Just picked up a USAriadna Starter and a SAS blister (starting Vanilla). Noticed that all the USAriadna models have a good head and a half on my poor SAS boys. Does anyone have any ideas about how to "scale up" the SAS models so the height difference isn't as jarring.

    Thanks in advance.

I think the resaon might be the USAriadna models are standing tall (like observing the battlefield or something) and the SAS models are stooped down (like sculcing behind cover). I do not have the models on me, but I think the height difference is not huge.

Yeah, the SAS are a little smaller than most of the new sculpts, but i see them as shorter warriors, not everyone has the same height.

I see it more as a 'SAS are recruited based on a "how competent are you to do job X" basis, not a "Must be this tall to go on this ride" thing'.

    Height isn't everything.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

It's like you wouldn't pick a fight with a Gurkha ... (well, not one you wanted to win, unless you had stacked the odds in your favour and outnumbered them by a lot). To paraphrase a great philosopher "Judge THEM by their size, do you?"

They aren't renowned for being giant of stature, after all.

The SAS is just too small, the one with the regular pistol seems a child soldier, has the same size of a S1 remote.

Try placing an extra piece of basing between the plastic base and the model. Commercial base toppers are excellent for this.

They were small scale even back in the days of analog sculpting and haven't got any taller. Lots of the 3rd party special base toppers and resin bases will give him the extra height, otherwise the new proxy rules are plenty generous if you must have a better sculpt

I'm using an Ariadna Scout with sniper rifle for my SAS right now, and soon I'll paint up an Intruder MSR for when I run two. Get him in CHA colors and you won't even notice he's a Nomad.

its not nearly as glaring a difference that the height difference between the new Highlander greys and the old sculpt 2 light shotguns Grey. When they are running around a table, with you standing around it, it'll hardly be noticable.

Not sure about the height, I guess, I never took the time to notice, but I can say one thing about the SAS, they get some work done on the table, and I'm happy with the figures that are out now but I would like to see some new ones.

I had a similar question about the Uxia McNeill mini. I really like her sculpt, but the N2 - N3 size difference has me concerned. How bad is the difference with mixing her in with the newer models?

Has anyone found a good N3 proxy for her...seems like US Ariadna might have something but cannot remember any model having her mix of good pose and the distinctive watch cap. I guess the bonus figure standing maverick comes closest, but I do not like her as much since she lacks a weapon (just binos).

    Thanks!

Uxia is meant to be a tiny (but fierce) woman so the scale change doesn't affect her as much IMO.

The covert action variant with twin pistols is also crouched which further hides a scale difference.
