What's everyone's preference - Emily or Avicenna?

Combining a great doctor with heavy infantry is always a good move but Emily's grenade launcher adds a huge amount of utility. Every time I don't take it, I run into a suppressive fire Kriza and then wish I did...

I find when you add in the 4 GRRLs, points can be too tight for both characters so I'm more likely to skip Avicenna and take a Daktari plus Jaguar instead.

 

Avicenna. Less points for a better overall performance. Furthermore you have to compare a basically self healing NWI vs. normal Dogged. Emily is way better used together with Alguaciles.

 

I prefer emily over avicenna in the link, frees avicenna up to have zondbots and allow her to be more flexible. It also means I have a model in the link that has the ability to do more when it comes to missions and classifieds when it pushes out late turn 2/turn 3.

I've found it's very much a preference thing/battlefield role.

 

I've had a couple of lists where I have taken both. I start with Avicenna in the core and duo Emily with Uhahu, and she joins the link (or what's left of it) if Avicenna doesn't make it. I appreciate the additional resiliency that brings, and by spending the orders to keep Emily up with the link, I am moving my HD+ up for free, available to white noise to take care of that pesky MSV ARO.

If I had to choose one, I think Avicenna has more synergy with the Grrls. She can pick them back up again if they go down and her B2 WIP 15 flash pulse is a no-joke ARO. Emily is awesome but she doesn't do anything the Grrls don't already do outside of the grenade launcher.
