I dont see the point of having a core with hungries if i cant use their orders because they are irregular

It's true, but the usefulness of the core goes up as the number of Hungries goes down:

I never liked the idea of Hungries as a cheap regular order battery anyway...

If you take the Oznat / Hungries team now, you’re either focused on unleashing a CC bomb in the middle of the table or you’re mixing in wildcards to give them an escort. Either one makes a lot more thematic sense for the army.

This is my current thought too. Run the Hungry link as 2 Oznats, Raktorak Red Fury (or Kornak works here), 2 Pretas in the small combat group with a Rodok/Vanguard core in the other group. Use the 3 Reg orders (5 if you take Lt2 Kornak) to push up the table and maybe snipe something with the Red Fury (Mk12) at full link bonus. Then use the two Irregular orders to break the link and push Pretas even further up. Now reform the Core in your other Combat Group and Bob's your uncle.

I'm getting flashbacks to when I was doing those for N3.
    I salute my successors.

They finally have BS12 and you don't have to take a specific one to make a haris team

The fireteam rule strips models of their impetus orders and makes their irregular ordera regular. The petra link is the same as before just without the equipment requirement. You can’t have irregular units in a fireteam

The only times the word "irregular" comes up in the fireteam rules is this sentence (p.8):

but not if they are irregular and the order isn't used, which is the whole thing they were talking about.

No, they are talking about the hungries providing regular orders in a fireteam. If you read the post i quoted. Which i can't find anywhere in the rules. And was confirmed by @ijw to not be the case.

Unfortunately this is only a quarter right. :-(

While in a Fireteam, the Impetuous and Frenzy Special Skills won’t be active. Impetuous ‘Orders’ no longer exist.

As others have posted, the only rule for Irregular and Fireteams is that using an Irregular Order breaks the Trooper out of the Fireteam. There is (and never has been) any blanket rule that makes Irregular Troopers Regular in a Fireteam, just William Wallace’s Inspiring Leadership making the whole of Caledonia Rgular if he’s Lieutenant, and the N3 Hungries Control Device making Hungries Regular in a Fireteam.

The Hungries Control Device no longer exists. The Irregular status of Hungries in the Oznat Fireteam has been flagged to be checked, but don’t expect it to be changed from the current status.

    Hi all!

I played my first two games of N4 yesterday, and decided to use MAF for the premiere. I wanted to just try to get a feel for the changes, so I made lists to try out different concepts. We played Capture & protect and Supremacy.

First list was a Suryat HMG (TacAware)/ Vanguard link in their own group. The other group was Rasyat Spitfire, two Zerats (one KHD and one minelayer) two Daturazi chain rifles, one Preta, two Ikadrons, one R-Drone and finally a Suryat Lt lvl 2 HMG.

This is a list I had great hopes for, but I was thwarted early by a well placed Tanko Missile Launcher supported by a Ninja sniper. Not that tough of an obstacle, you might say, but that dynamic duo managed to kill everything that looked at them throughout the fight, mostly because I couldn't roll either hits or saves. The Rasyat dropped in in a perfect spot to start killing cheerleaders, but failed to kill even one Keisotsu. In the end I made my classified and castled up around the the objective, thus preventing my opponent from scoring and winning 1-0. Further trials are needed.

Second list was a Raicho, Sogarat lt APHMG, Suryat HMG/vanguard link and then a sprinkling of Daturazis and Hungries.

Here I just wanted to bring all the big guns. I got a bit bogged down again with all my attack pieces getting flash pulsed in improbable circumstances. My Daturazis had to hold the line, and we finished with a draw. I definitely had too few specialists for the mission, but I had already chosen the list before we decided to play supremacy.

My take home messages are the following:

Zerats are awesome. Mimetism -6 and new Cybermask requiring no roll make them very efficient sneakazoids. The ability to start the game in suppressive is also a massive boost to non-marker state infiltrators.

Morats can easily reach bizarre amounts of orders even at 15 models. My lists above had 21 and 24 orders effectively.

Veteran across the board means we can use our lieutenants agressively. While we could already do that, the new list format has driven up the amount of actual Morat units in the army for me, meaning that more orders are conserved in loss of lieutenant.

Heavy pistols for everyone makes a difference more often than you might think.

Finally, that Rasyat, although it failed miserably in my game, opens up so many interesting plays by forcing the opponent to guard both the flanks and rear through the whole game. This is definitely a unit I will want to use more.

Not yet, several units are missing, Kurgats are one of them. I think they have inbuilt Haris, in line with other units, and Shock Mines were replaced by AP Mines. Got BS 12, went up 1-2 pts, I think. But I don't remember the profile right now, so I might be off somewhere.

    edit: found the leaked version:

    upload_2020-9-27_15-51-33.png

Better BS and BTS, (+2pts), AP Mines (+1 pts), no mines on Autocannon loadout, BSG went up 1 pts in N4. All checks out, and I think it was a good deal for the unit

In regards to the Petras in links, it makes no sense they would be irregular. I understand the rules lawyering here but i think it’s likely a mistake. Correct me if am wrong, there isn’t a single fireteam option outside of “petra” that is irregular. Also the fireteam for the Petras are listed as “special” with only Kornak and a Ratorak technically able to join them, there is no point even having it as a fireteam option if it doesn’t convert it into regular orders. I think we need to wait on CB to verify, all kinda of shit are bonkers right now like a Kizra joining a Hollowman 5 Core.
