I am not fan of proxies, but with NA2 I realized, that it could be used very well. Plus the next reason to proxy is to represent personal lore that you can make for your army. For example I made my JSA army closer to PanO. Especially with MO. Of course I am using them in game as usual. Only visual part changed. Rems, Support units, and a little of MO (but not much. For example knight-commander instead of kempeitai but change their sword for katana.) Or like I decided to do with Dahshat. I lowered amount of haqqislam troops and made more Ariadna and YuJing units. Both themes are represented in this army. (Plus some personal story, and it is mostly for myself) Wu Ming are planned as Diggers in the future, but of course they would be painted as more rusty and used armor)) So yes, I can agree, that in the case of NA2 we can proxy different things easier.
I use proxies here and there, mostly various Aleph models I like as Devas for my NCA, some HVT ladies as CSU, and various models I like as Bounty hunters, I see no issue in players using proxies to make their list more visually thematic.
I have several minis (1 LI, 3x MI, 1 HI) as “universal proxies”. All modded and then used when new troops are released.
I'm I the only one who thinks NA2 got shafted on the comlink skill? Most (Druze, JSA, Ikari, White and Spiral) of the NA2 armies only have the Wardriver as their comlink option and the Wardriver it's one of very few comlink troops that doesn't have +1 or +2. The only other armies without at least +1 is Aleph (all) and Morats.
Well, it tracks. The Imperial Japanese Navy really don't like the Army, and is unlikely to rush to their side.
The only one that got a good one is Dahshat with +2 Com Ghulam. Otherwise, sucks. I was hoping to play Ikari again but nope. Back on the shelf.
well it makes thematic sense as the commlink troop is part of the reinforcements and not part of the mercenary force that has contracted them.
So, looking at the Infinity Army.. Starco - alguaciles foreign - securitate dashat - ghulam Others: just Wardriver Why the other NA2 armies can't get a linkable commlink troop as the rest of the sectorials in the game?
Wardriver is one of tbe best commslink units in the game! Same price as a zhanshi comm, but can do hacking missions and gets 6thsense and a Bshotgun.
So my updated thoughts, in general The reinforcement profiles are actually nice Diggers are impetuosi and linkabile Miranda and sforza each have extra orders and are linkabile Brawlers have interesting new options ABH and CSU are cheap and cool I'm still reserving judgement for anacondas and monstruckers tho. (For whennO play the druze 4 TAG list) Samsa Stark Is just good fun The commlink trooper in my opinion Is quite a downgrade to druze because it's a sectorial starved for SWC, troop slots, and efficient profiles, so I personally hate It. Mixed bag, wanna try It Very curious to list for 150+100 pts and 300+100 pts as well
I do wish there would have been a couple of option for commlink per army, for example HI commlink +0, MI commlink +1, LI commlink +2, so you could balance the usefulness of the trooper to the extra slots gained, or something similar. One other option I thought about was giving Spec Ops Commlink 0/1/2 for 4/6/8 or something exp
If you filter for Commlink skill on mobile (android) Spec Ops comes up as on option but not if you do so on the browser version for some reason. In neither case Commlink is available as selectable skill.

I like brawlers HRL and msv2 MMR, pair of diggers and Miranda MR. It can stab, it can shoot, can push buttons, is perfectly 100/2 and brings 6 orders
I'm really missing a commlink Brawler and a commlink Keisotsu here. Given the points balance of the NA2 reinforcements, I'd say they ought to be +2 to boot. Wardriver isn't terrible given the rules for Commlinks, but at the same time it is horribly out of place for my JSA and stifles list creation needlessly.
