This sounds a lot like a MTG player saying "It dies to removal". As such, I would answer in kind - "Everything dies to removal crits". That said, paying 40 pts for simple CC specialist (that dies to Shock) would be too much. But! Kornak is not a one-trick CC pony. He is also a decent gunfighter with BS 14 and a Mk12, makes for a decent (if obvious) Lt, and is linkable in Morats. All that - on top of CC ability of a Krakot. That *is* worth all of his points. P.S. By the way, CC attacking, for example, a Bao Troop who srikes back with a knife, Kornak has less chance of going down than a linked Kusanagi shooting a MMS2 Sierra bot. And I wouldn't say that it would be a bad call for the player who attacked with Kusanagi.
Shock is fine, what needs to be reworked is some of the weapons that have shock "just because" and remove shock immunity from a bunch of things Shock should be uncommon, and shock immunity should be rare outside of HI
Well, you have all those STR troopers which have Shock Immunity too. And I'm not talking about Total Immunity.
But Bolts just got good! I actually do think that Sniper Rifles, Red Furies, Heavy Pistols etc. should just have Normal damage unless specified otherwise for simplicity reasons, and DEFINITELY think NWI and Immunities should be saved for the likes of HI, Recreations and Dog Warriors. Stuff like Dart and the new wave of Ramah LI With Benefits really steps on the toes of HI, especially since it confers immunity to all of the measures designed to stop such resilient troops from being overpowered, oversimplified number blocks. However, Shock/Bio Immunity isn't that serious of a problem without Valour level 2+ in the mix, it just means you can count on a Doctor being able to work on them. I have never, ever heard a serious complaint about Bakunin Moderators being a problem for balance.
Yeah, but in Magic your creatures are more disposable - they take up 1/60 slots in your deck. If it's analogous to "it dies to removal" then we're in a removal-dominant format, which tends to favor cheap, disposable creatures - not 6 mana critters that are vulnerable to Terror or whatever.
