On top of that Ramah also has a decent amount of unhackable semi-sturdy units, inlcuding an infiltrating/AD one.
And in a more gimmicky way, it comes with a self-sufficient fireteam that can provide smoke, MSV2, a doctor and more!

I think there's 2 things: the muktar haris and the Fat lvl2 linkable with ghulams. If you dont go with that just play vanilla is quite the same.

The problem in the movement is that you cant superjump while the rest of the link walks so its disgusting. (or climbing plus) (maybe in N4 changes)

Do you all think the inclusion of the Shakush in Ramah will make a big impact? Obviously we don't know everything about N4, but it seems to me warbands will be weaker, armored units will be stronger plus going down in cost, and smaller lists will be better than ever. I feel like the Shakush will face a lot of competition between Tarik, Al Fasids, and the Maghariba Guard. Also excited to see what link options it might get. I can see myself running a Maghariba + Shakush Duo for fun if such an option exists.

It'll make a smaller impact than with the Hassassins because of the reasons you've mentioned.
Mind you, we don't have a full picture yet of what N4 brings for RTF and Haqqislam in general.
Compared to Tarik and the Al Fasid it's more a question of role. Do you want a more mobile unit? A toolbox unit? Or just a straight up sturdy gunfighter?
Compared to Maggie it's a question of points I'd say. RTF already pays a premium price for its infantry so the point difference freed up by taking a Shakush instead of Maggie can be used to round out an elite LI fireteam.

KwarkyMats covered a lot of what I would say. Especially in comparison to the Al Fasid, where it really is just a question of if you want the thirst wound/structure or the additional weapons and skills. Barring significant changes to Tarik, I like him a lot more than the AP Spitfire loadout.

I'll add that, unless I missed something, we dont know if the Shakush will be in Ramah at this point.

Hmm as an avid haqq player, and a Rama obsessive, i actually think tge shakush fits fine. But this comes down directly to how i feel about maggy. I actually almost never run tags, i even play vanilla aleph and have a marut that has always steamrolled enemies every time i played it, but i just cant bring myself to do it cause its so big. I dont even like bikes cause i hate having to maneuver 55mm bases around a table. As for maggy, shes barely a tag size wise, shes a tank, i just really cant ever bring myself to field her. But the shakush, is S6, and i love that so much for it. I finally feel like i can field a tag in haqq and it being on a 40mm gives me so much mobility and cover opportunities. Plus this thing looks similar to achilles v2 in terms of shooting and ive done some crazy stuff with v2 cause arm6 is no slouch.

In C1/N4 troopers can squeeze through gaps as small as half their Silhouette width, which makes TAGs, bikes, and big REMs a lot more mobile.

It was implied that the Shakush looks like a good discount from the Maggie because the Shakush is in N4 points. If the Shakush was given a N3 profile it would be more points.
If that turns out to be true and the cheapest Maggie profile remains then there won't be much a difference in points between them. Which I consider concerning from a RTF point of view.

I can pretty comfortably run a Maggie and the things I want at 15+ orders right now. If a bunch of stuff is dropping points and we are hard capped at 15 orders generally then I don't see why you wouldn't reach for the Maggie most of the time.
Unless you have an issue with the model the generic TAG with better armament is the clear winner. And right now the Maggie has better armament.

So right now for RTF fans I think people want the Shakush to work because it looks cool and they don't want to think CB just gave them a chunky N3 Janissary* in a ruleset where the N4 Janissary is likely to get better.

*As in a unit that is as generic as it gets. The Shakush's profile is literally a TAG. Just a TAG before anything interesting is add on. Even the weapons are generic S6 weaponry.

I've had some success with 15-order Maggie before, but there are plenty of reasons to run other stuff. Of course, by "other stuff" I mean Mukhtar. Waiting to see what Maggie looks like/costs in N4 makes sense, but I imagine the Shakush will still cost close to the same as Tarik, so that comparison for the spitfire version should still apply.

Out of curiosity, where was it said that Ramah was getting the Shakush?

It's listed on the Dossier under the unit name. "Haqqislam / Ramah Task Force / Hassassin Bahram"

All the photos from the seminar are in this post:

Edit: Oh, it's also posted in this thread. I like it better when they put the Faction/Sectorial logos in the whitespace... Much easier to find at a glance.

Because the Shakush seems to just be a oversized gunfighter I don't think after some play testing people will be reaching for it over better fireteam options or more maneuverable units with similar armament.

Right now I see it could work as a HMG gun turret but the spitfire is going to get munched up by all the hyper powered CC units that N4 is looking to get stacked with. And I think once we see more from other factions the Shakush is going to get less and less attractive.

My only hope is that we only saw a version of the unit and the one that goes to print will have an actual reason to run one. Because right now its looking at being a distance alternative choice to the Maggie, a Janissary, the impending Fasid improvement, khawarji, Tarik, improved Zhayedan, Mukhtar, Nahab and Namurr. Basically its a last place choice.

I really think with the N4 changes TAGs in general will be way better and you will want to include them. Tactical Awareness was already really good but is now even better. Honestly you might see less Tarik with the changes to crits, and the greater emphasis on armor.

I think the changes will also make the good things that are already there better. If the Fasid drops a few points and gains 4-4 mov, I would always take it over the Shakush. If the Janissary gets any kind of buff I would always take it over the Shakush. And if anything positive happens to the Maggies...well same thing.

Haqq gets its second tag after all this time and its just generic. All these cool tag concepts that have come out since the maggie and the best they could come out with is gun + HF? They have been moving away from that for over a year now. Giving old tags new load outs to get away from so many tags having the exact same load out and they go ahead an take a step back just for Haqq.

I don't know. I'm just very disappointed that after all this time all they came up with is this. And this is supposed to the first big showing of readjusted Haqq in N4. It fills me with dread at what is coming next.

Personally I just wish it had climbing plus or something else like that, as yes it is very generic. I'm just valuing the armor and extra order the Shakush will bring.

Just noticed Ramah's 99 point Maggie now can have one H. Flamer and one AP H. Pistol. Is this new/N4? Seems like the best of both worlds (though master of neither, but... trade-offs). Sorry if this was brought up earlier.

That came out when Ramah/Dahshat dropped and is easily my favourite profile. Hoping we see it in Vanilla for N4.

After doing my yearly sectorial switch, I can say I definitely miss my RTF. One thing I really enjoyed with the army is the feeling of a lot of SWC. The ability to buy some expensive defensive SWC pieces and not suffer offensive firepower due to cheap SWC B5 weapons is quite awesome.

I'm kinda looking forward to the Shakush model, I picked up the Khawarij's to help fill out the RTF side of my Haqq collection but I never fancied cashing down on the new Maggie (great model though). Is the new Hortlak with SMG worth picking up with the Zhayedans' for RTF? (ok so the latter is because I actually do like the models and felt I could use them as proxies or eye candy on the shelf at least).

I'm still missing a number of models from RTF including Carmen/WBill, Hakim's, Jannies, Nahab's and Mukhtar models, but I really don't like the Mukhtar mini as it completely moves away from the Haqq aesthetics that I like, wasn't seeing a real need for the other models given my collection apart from the Nahab's which I felt a Ragik could proxy quite well. I've seen the Nahab's being used quite a bit, are there profiles which work really well ?
