I would like to see a small change up in price or load out for the guarda de assaulto. Many times I feel the spitfire gets too weedy on him and the multitifle doesn’t carry his BS stay very well. Multi marksman would be an excellent choice to compromise on the two weapons I think.
Lets not get excited just to get disappointed here. I doubt bolts will see any price drop much less almost 4 points in some profiles
The big problem with bolts is that shock ammo is popping up on too many weapons that can opt out of shock ammo.
I'm annoyed they don't just move to a live service type model and make these changes more frequently. I think it's kind of rude they change calculations and then don't retroactively update models pretty much immediately. I mean, they can do it at the beginning/end/inbetween ITS seasons so points cost alterations don't make peoples lists illegal part way through a season. It would do a lot to help people feel like old units aren't getting left behind when they could recieve cost alterations 'for free'.
I think the Interplanetario point is really important. I think we're seeing a lot of things in a "holding pattern" right now, including army updates and FAQs, because CB doesn't want to disrupt things too much before the event. @herod1204 It's a new rule that allows models with NCO to use the LT Order, as if they were the LT themselves. To respond directly, I think NCO on a TAG is powerful. It is, quite literally, the best model in the game to get a free Order on. If anyone should have it, I think it's PanO... We get called the TAG faction often enough, so it's a good candidate for us. But I have some doubts as to whether or not it belongs son TAG-level units, since it would undoubtedly be accompanied by a point increase. Even the rule itself is meant to convey the idea of a capable veteran soldier who gets stuff done. I don't really visualize TAGs as operating at the NCO level.
I'd take NCO instead of CoC, although it wouldn't be quite the same, it would still mean we can have a TAG that makes use of the LT Order. Would actually be a lot better for mostly the Cutter. With TO he has trouble using his Lt Profile at full efficiency, NCO completely circumvents that. With the amount of designspace even just the dossiers suggest being possible, I am pretty stoked what Varuna could bring. Even if the Sectorial ends up meh, the options for Vanilla alone have me exited.
*raises finger for rebuttal.... actually.... well Hac Tao has XO so actually would fit in the theme that they're mirroring each other. But seems a tad bit to strong for my taste, would rather see it on the Aquila (who really are all high rank NCOs in the very least) Putting NCO on one troop in the entire game is a rather bad joke in terms of being fluffy. There are metric tons of troop profiles that are at least NCOs or higher in terms of actuall military rank. Each and every Hsien, Aquila and all EI Constructs for instance.
Hac Tao has XO based on the idea that they can take control of the operation. Swiss Guard are more (from a fluff perspective at least) of a "doer" unit. The impression I've always gotten when dealing with retired NCOs is "doer, not a leader" :P Aquila really should get a Strategos profile or just flat added onto them.
NCO would be a great fix for Singh. Maybe hand his Chain of Command off to Rao, and let Singh go back to getting the job done when he makes his drop.
If anyone should get XO, it should be Hexa. There's a lot of units - across all factions - that are a good fit for NCO, but until now CB wasn't handling new skills too widely, if at all.
Do you think the use of NCO should reveal who your Lt is? How would NCO interact with Fireteams - would its use break the fireteam if the NCO-er model was part of the link? Understand that the rules for NCO haven't been released yet, but am interested in your collective thoughts.
Shouldn't reveal lieutenant, should definitely break the Fireteam though (the same way spending s lieutenant order on a linked lieutenant works.)
Agreed with @meikyoushisui That would make NCO very good on AD units or solo powerhouses like TAGs... Which is one reason why I'm not sure if they'll get it. That's incredibly optimized.
Obviously lean profiles highly oriented/focused/limited on a single job/task is not PanO's strength/focus/thing.
One thing worth mentioning... Now I really, really hope the Acon Regular FO loses that .5 SWC cost. Now that units can't apply link bonuses to the actual act of Forward Observing, that's one fewer reason for Acon Regulars to be singled out this way. I do get that WIP16 flash pulses are good, but considering how many other WIP13-WIP14 Total AVA line trooper links exist out there, I don't think there's any reason to specifically penalize PanO for this.
Whatever he gets I want him to keep his scoring ability. its pretty much about the best thing going for him
