@borings Kriigel can also mark targets with Phero-Booster :) At B3 too

There we go thats clearer. The main game plan is push up Pheroboosters and mark a target then bombard with support SMHRL. The Clipsos shore that up as needed.

Why don't you squeeze in the third Helot? They're so incredibly efficient ARO pieces. Easily worth exchanging a regular order.

They'd be one of the strongest arguments for VIRD if I had to choose a new faction.

Nice list, but I'd say you rely too much in the Kriigel + SHRL plan. If the Kriigel die because an enemy manages to get past your (several) layers of defense, you are left without anything that can attack on its own.

I think partly the initial build of the list was playing with 4 SHRL.

How do you get close enough to mark things with kriigel tho? You have 1 gun in your list that shoots well past 24". I feel like msv snipers and tr bots would really give this list a hard time.

@Abrilete Definitely a potential issue. Between the layers of defense. I'm hopeful that the disposable template mooks, the two TO units and the emergency Taagma Triad will bring enough to mop up remnants.

    I mean I have 3 Heavy Rocket Launchers so thats 3. :P

But range is a potential issue. With MSV links I do have the Kriigel's Mirrorball and Eraser. For TR bots my main counter play is the Clipsos if I can't find a way through cover to get where I need to be. Pheroboosters do have a decent enough range that I'm optimistic they will deal with most general issues. If I do find myself running into ranging issues I think the easiest answer would be to consider investing in a greif operator to ambush main LOF blockers.

At 16 a hit is do 2 for the damage...
Well depending on TAG/HI or just multi wound..
    Damn Son! I'm digging it

Not sure I'd bring 4 your right... Still cinematic...
I think it's like having a 410 judge for home protection... Just know you have that much fire power makes you feel safe...

    [Added]
I love Drop Bears... Monstruckers might make the list... So much damn board control in this force

It does seem like you can include a guided shot along with other regular bs attacks during a coordinated order tho. Which might be the best way to go. I mean, the guy shooting phero booster should still be in range, and you do get a +3 on attacks against that guy for the turn. I think usually just the +3 to attacks will be enough tho, if you just switch to a heavier weapon to finish the job (spitfire, hmg, etc)

Here is something I will try when the new models come. It is my take on a 'traditional' Tohaa list, with some new things thrown in. I build lists for terrain, so I would pair this with a more close in style list.

i feel like with 2 CoC kaeltar, you could prolly afford to play a more aggressive Lt. Do you have an "open terrain" list vs a "closed terrain" list? also why no draal? they seem like one of the more exciting new guys

I was planning on using the lt as the xenotech. Pre update the lt was a viral Rasail. I will try to squeeze a Draal in there. I haven't worked up the closed terrain list yet. Thanks for the feedback!

Here is my rough draft dense terrain list. I don't really like only having 2 makauls, but I do like having 2 rasail. /shrug

Seeing a lot more love for the jammer guy ITT than I personally have, wondering how you guys have found him? I'm inclined to think its the automatic "jammer=good" logic thats been going around on account of Ghazis

The smoke LGL is really valuable in spiral, so it's worth learning how to make good use of the Eraser anyway. And since it can be used effectively in active and sort of moves up the table for free by being in an active triad, you get a lot of value there.

Besides the Draal, there's nothing than can push buttons, really, that might be caused by my preparation for my next Tournament, where pushing buttons won't be too useful.

I'm four games deep in spiral so far and definitely having success with an early push and then retreat back into layer after layer of ablative AROs designed to make my opponents sad and bewildered.

3-1 so far, with the loss being an early game without full access to the triad rules etc.

From looking at the lists people are making, it seems like spiral is going to be all about positioning. By That i mean making sure yer guys are getting aros in their good range bands, and to make sure yer opponent has to fight constantly just to get across the table. Which is could be a big change from people playing more aggressive tohaa lists

Yeah, it's very different. You have an early explosion of power off the Draal (and an early layer of defence from mines and camo on the helots) and then you really need to claw your way into the final turns off the back of that.

I think other ways of playing will be viable as well, you can get more enduring power with things like Neema and the multiple core-equivalent links, but this style definitely appeals to me.
