A member on the Discord channel was singing the praises of Laxmee. Her two Special = switch allows her to gain a movement point when she is the active Character. The member implies that he allows her to re-roll to Disengage one movement point at a time. However my interpretation of the face to face Disengage roll is that if she fails she would lose all remaining movement points and go down to zero. She would then need to spend two Action points to gain her 4 movement points or use her hacker's action in the hopes of gaining at least two Specials so that she gets at least one movement point to Disengage. Her agility allows her to gain an automatic Special when rolling her orange die. However since switches go first and so the movement point she would gain would be immediately lost if she failed to Disengage. I imagine that extra Special is there so that if she won the Disengage roll she would need only one more Special to get an extra boost on her way.
Ok. It's Laxmee's Activation. She performs Move to gain 4 Movement Points. She spends 2MP and now she has to Disengage. Face to Face Roll and she rolls a : If she won, she has now 3MP to keep moving around. If she lost, she has no more MP to spend (she lost the three of them). She has to perform again Move to gain another 4MP. What Tactic is that member using to reroll? You have to manage the symbols at Switched Step that you have at that moment. You can't save symbols from Roll to Reroll.
That was me, allow me to clarify. My implication was that she could use an Action, such as D/BUff3r, for one Action Point and generate just a single movement point. She could then attempt to use that one movement point to disengage. If she succeeds she is then free to use the Move action to generate more MP and run further. If she failed, she loses a single Movement Point (since she, at the time, only had one). She is then free to repeat this attempt over and over; spend an Action Point on a single action, generate 1 MP, try to escape. So, unlike most other Characters, she can put a single Movement Point up for risk at a time. Bonus, the D/Buff3r action she uses to try to escape can be a Stunned State on the target she's escaping from. Even better, she has a change to generate MP during her disengage, so if she does succeed she now gets to move and still has 1 more MP to use (though this 'bonus' would also be lost in a fail).
Ah, ok, ok. That's right. As D/BUff3r only costs 1AP, you could spend the bonus MP trying to Disengage, and you can repeat it 5 times. It's a good play 'cos you can get your enemy stunned and move away. Nice! Thanks for clarifying.
