With paramedics healing anybody on his ph. Why do we bring docs at all? With no cubes around, why there is a need for a doc Sometimes even it is better. Ratnik and antipodes ph 15. So you, have a doc you have a worse chance healing them.
True, but doctors also have medikit, so can use the medikit option too when it's preferable. They also tend to have better WIP than paramedics so are slightly better specialists for button pressing. If you aren't planning to doctor any line-infantry or other low PH units, and don't need the extra WIP boost, then you might be able to save a few points by taking a paramedic along instead.
The 112 is 12 points bringing a DTW, is a Wildcard in USARF, counts as a Metro in FRRM, is a cheap member of a Veteran Fireteam in TAK if you're not fussed about pure bonuses, is better at healing PH<13 troopers if the Fireteam is broken, and still has his own Medikit. The Motorised 112 is the joint cheapest biker specialist, and the only one available to CHA, FRRM, and 'Flot. The Strannik is a Wildcard that brings a light riotstopper and can slot into a Kosmosoldat Haris, he can also be in the same Fireteam as Wallace or Patchers who do have Cubes. The one in the toughest spot is the Kazak Doc, who is paying 2 points to be better at healing PH<13 troopers when not in a Fireteam. Though he can team up with Rokots who have lower BS and shorter range weapons.
Medikit is 2 rolls a BS roll followed by a Phys and some of our paramedics aren't the best shooters. Paramedic in a Link gets better but a lone paramedic isn't better than a doc.
You can use a Medikit in silhouette contact without making a BS Roll. If the target is as good or better PH compared to the Doctor's WIP then a Paramedic is as good as a Doc.
