Is not OP, just have some troopers similars to others in different armies, and some other trooper directly better than their equivalent in other armies. Broken? No, but has not much flaws
My hot take looking at O12 is: if it becomes popular and good players flock to it, non-Sphinx TAGs will go extinct now completely and non-marker HI in general (and definetely fireteams of those) would follow; because with that amount of cheap adhesive templates, the expensive units would become even more of a liability than they are now. O12 vanilla looks powerful but ... not fun to play? The only interesting units to me are mimetic Peacemaker, Hexa+, Spektr+ and Daturazi+, a pretty fun mix.
Yeah, S4 with Wounds, LI (no REMs/Remote Presence) and 4-4 MOV. - weired... A wheelchair would be S3 with 4-2 move. So no Professor Xavier... Hm, S4 makes them hard to place in total cover.
Could it be some enhanced antipode? The name Alpha makes me think of wolves, and I didn't notice the wounds initially.
Far from unplayable. We use Minesweeper bots all the time and find ways to hide them away. This one can actually fight back and offers a lot more in terms of skills. Guard level 4 makes it much harder to kill with a Fiday. 24 to hit with 2 dice is pretty good in CC.
I mean, as an LT who provides counter intelligence and 2 regular orders and is pretty much immune to being CC'ed by Impersonators...... "Unplayable" couldn't be further from reality. "Oh you're going to use a command token to strip 2 orders? That's nice, I still have 10"
The only thing great about the Zeta is how great its PR department is. What a huge disappointment. :( I was expecting it to be in the upper tiers of a few of its stats instead of none of them. It didnt even get some sort of niche or fun special rule. Whoever designed it really dropped the ball and gave us a piece of junk that hardly stands equal among its contemporaries. I know CB will never fix it either. Which makes me even more sad
It's funny how even an "outdated" Szalamandra has a bit better stats than the uber hitech TAG. I kinda expected O-12 force to be the anti-alien squad with fancy skills, but they turned out to be just bland high BS+ARM dudes with almost 0 special rules or equipment. Also, a minelayer on a TO model in an army with no usual camo. Just why?
Uff, they seem quite strong... That smoke/MSV2 combo is going to hurt badly, specialy because the Bioimmunity is going to make him much safer than a Nisse/Intruder. Alpha is an amazing cheap Lt hard to pick off. The Varangian for its cost is amazing to guard the DZ plus add some cheap orders; the guy is a beast in CC, have smoke to set up the MSV2 and can add some ranged punch. They have a cheap order base with the 15 points hacker + 4 cheap REMs, plus the Alpha (strategos), a few Varangians and a lot of very useful profiles in the 20 points range... they doesn't seem that order starved. Team Syrius is an buffed auxilia to defend the midfield instead of the DZ, not bad at all. Specially when the bot is carrying a direct template ADH weapon. Omega HMG is scary; BS14 HMG with ODD... Crow having shock immunity and AD is almost an IP, that model alone can destroy a poorly warded flank; and his CC abilities are in par with an Oniwaban (excluding the surprise attack) Mind Zeta is a Remote presence TAG, so it can't be sepsitoriced, nor expeled, the engineers can use the command tokens to reroll while repairing, it has 2 unconscious states... Plus the climbing plus depending on the scenography can be very good in a TAG to keep it safe or get good LoF. Being a Remote presence TAG with an HMC for that price isn't bad at all.
I don't think saying the Zeta is cool because it has Remote Presence is correct when it's supposed to be the pinnacle of human achievement and a experimental TAG. PanO is full of Remote TAGs, where are the "experimental" features in the Zeta's profile?
