don't forget the suit of Hoplite power armour the dumbass wears, so not only is there the cost of the LHost but the advanced PA he's wearing too.
I might be imagining things, but unless that tiny image is another fake, the Combat Jump unit has Liu Xing legs and steel I-beam while the S5 unit has Yan Huo legs. As in, literally those parts and not just a re-pose. While I think it'd have been a nice touch to show the multi-cultural origin by re-using the digital files to make the units, I'd at least want them to be re-posed before production so the individual parts aren't the same. You know... the drop trooper could've lost the I-beam at least... Daiyokai were meant to be a new highly advanced S2 unit, probably a replacement for the Hac Tao armour suit or the Shang-Ji suit, but Uprising cut it short so they stuffed the unfinished tech as best they could into a large chassi (for a real life comparison, during WW2, the Horten HO 229 was fitted with bomber landing gear for the practical reasons that they didn't have the time or means to develop proper landing gear for that aircraft in time to get them produced for practical flight tests/demonstrations, and if memory serves the aircrafts themselves were also slightly over-dimensioned for similar reasons (that and they were running out of quality steel)). Mowang is the Daiyokai prototype, either an early prototype turned mass-produced or a salvaged prototype (I'm not clear on which considering the Mowang seems to have been on active deployment and with a defined combat role when Uprising happened)
Gotta love when people come up with their own suppositions and end up believing it's true. Nice history but there's nowhere in the fluff that says anything of that. All these stories of Daiyokai supposed to be a super high tech S2 and Mowang coming from the Daiyokai project are simply FALSE. So people, please stop saying Mowang has been created from Daiyokai salvaged orginal prototype, because it's not true. Nothing in the fluff says so, it's just a community invention and you're just misleadiing other players.
Looking at the fluffs, it even describes the original Daiyokai prototype as a suit of "ultra-heavy powered armour". Unless I'm missing something it seems pretty clear it was always intended to be big
It's only being perpetuated because people are not supplying sufficiently accurate information. This is the first time I hear something that detracts from that the Daiyokai and Mowang not sharing ancestry and that the Daiyokai ending up not being a hodgepodge, but until someone actually takes the time to clear that up, that's what I have to go on (because I'll be damned if I take the time to sludge through that horrible writing style that is CB's storytelling just to arrive at some sort of technical outline - particularly THAT book.)
Indeed. Usually "recycled" on this forum means "kinda similar pose" but this time it almost looks like literal kitbash. We'll see when proper high res images and 360's starts arriving...
Spoiler: just some offtopic rant about bad discussion manners Well, you claim that what someone says is FALSE (yeah, in capital letters), but then you fail to proof your own opinion. If the fluff does not support what was said, you may call out that you would like to see the source of that claim, but until then it is not false, just without proof (so it's 'uncertain'), but then you still lack to supply some real counter-proof... Sorry, this was off-topic, but I just dislike seeing someone yelling (capital letters) 'FALSE' without giving a proof supporting one's own claim. Even if you would have looked it up in every book you won, you can merely claim that you cannot find any of this in your books, but maybe there was an official blog or whatever... So yeah, you may ask the original poster to back his/her claims with some proof, as well because you do not believe this, as well as this proof is siimply missing in the statement.

I'm totally fine with models having either the gun up in the air, down towards the ground, or up and being aimed. When the models aren't one of those is when we get "dynamic" poses like the old wulver and minute man sculpts. Hard pass on stuff like that.
It might be a trick of the light, but it looks like the walls and such have a noticeable top edge. I wonder if the terrain is like plast craft, causing a little bit of the price increase.
Most likely the cardboard terrain. It's heavier and larger than any of the previous paper terrain packs.
