Okay… I’ve been loving the Durgama takeover, there have been done excellent battle reports and everyone seems to really be enjoying themselves. Which is the point really of this whole hobby. But that trailer… damn. Took some stills in case people haven’t seen the preview, hope they show up here:
Apologies for the quality, I hoped they’d be higher res… oh well. I’m loving ALL the haqqi stuff but was upset with no Ajax for Aleph… oh well, the minis are stunning anyways especially the hoplite and that agema marksman. Oh… a few others that I forgot: Dammit. My wallet will hate this release!

They DO look better don’t they? I love how worried Pandora appears and how confident and “I’m so above this situation” Helen looks.
Not that impressed with the HB stuff. Lack of design consistency (eg, Y shape knee pads versus the oval here) is putting me off.
Hmmm.... solid, I guess. At least for the Haqq side. Nadhir and Barid have the issue where they are a bit weirdly perched on tactical gubbins. Bohktar doesn't immediately look Haqq for me. Could be a CA or Tohaa in a vacuum. Need to see him in person to judge. Glad everything still fits with my old HB models. Phalanx is equally solid. The Thorakitai with shield is cool, as is the Hoplite. Glad to see the latter on a 25mm base despite his chunk, feels more Aleph that way. Helen, Trisha and Rouhani are pretty nice. The face of the HVT seems a bit odd, hard to say with the mask. 6.5/10 wouldn't buy if I wasn't playing those factions, but I do, so time to preorder.
Owning all of Steel Phalanx already I’m quite happy with these keeping the aesthetic in place, plus giving us new characters (though I thought Thyreos was another Hippolyta on first glance). The Thorakitai with shield is a great model.
Overall I really like the design of them! I was surprised by 3 Daylami. I wonder if they become regular in HB? What are the guns the one on the right has? SMG? The left looks like a Rifle, middle a light shotgun. He looks cool BTW. It looks like they are intruding on Yu Jing territory with a HI Combat Jump trooper . I can't tell the type of gun. Mk12 and heavy pistol? But there's no way he's a MI. I really like Rouhani. All of the SP look cool too. I really like the Ekodromoi. According to Wikipedia: A thyreos (Ancient Greek: θυρεός) was a large oval shield which was commonly used in Hellenistic armies from the 3rd century BC onwards. It was adopted from the Galatians, probably first by the Illyrians, then by the Thracians before becoming common in ancient Greece. Troops who carried it were known as thyreophoroi. It was made of wood covered with leather and had a spined boss. It was carried using a central handgrip. Some variants of the shield were nearly rectangular: the name thyreos derives from the word thyra (θύρα), "door", reflecting its oblong shape.[1] So I'm guessing a body guard for Helen of Troy? The Hoplite looks awesome. I'm guessing they will be 5 or 6 ARM HI if Achilles is anything to go by but he might be a better version of them. Again I can't tell the gun.
Pretty big fan of all of this. I think the one model I’m not too keen on is the Haqq drop troop, just because the tac-debris looks a bit awkward and I’m not 100% on the armour design.
GaddDAMN these minis are amazing! -The faces are really next-level. Great expression. It makes me want to work on my faces-painting skills to do them justice, which is exactly what minis pushing the boundaries of possible detail should do for player/collectors. -The poses are excellent, finally regaining the fluidity and variety of pose that the old hand sculpts had (which was my main criticism of most of their 3D sculpts up until now). - The new unit types don’t seem redundant with existing ones, and I’m guessing the Daylami will get some really interesting rules refreshes based on gear, on par with Croziers at least. Way to knock it out of the park again, CB! I don’t play either faction, but will buy the bundle to give to friends for Christmas (maaaaaybe painted).
True I forgot about him. But mainly because it's only one profile and don't know anyone that takes him near me. He's pretty expensive but I would take him if could.
