Thank you for your answer. Please also the factions of NA2 deserve some updates, they seem to have been abandoned.
The CB blog posted an article about Pandora: https://infinitytheuniverse.com/blog/pandora-iatromantis Aleph is definitely a "friend" to humanity. Glad that the Hassassins are looking out.
I don't know where to put it, and certainly I don't want to start a new thread, but... There is a set of cardboard terrain in the Blackwind pack (which will, of course, be later available as a separate thing). Good enough for a 24x32" table, or 150pts game. Shiny. By extension, two such sets make a 200-250pts gaming table (32x48"). I guess there will be, as well, the Expansion Set (with bridges, sniper tower ad most important, the Objective Room. It also has a single Console). With this one and two basic sets, one should be pretty well-equipped to play a 300 (or even 400) pts game of ITS. Well, almost. You need Objectives. Since we're not considering those very pretty MDF / reisin ones from external manufacturers, or whatever the players can craft from scratch here, just as we aren't discussing the 3rd party or scratchbuildt terrain. At the same time, I don't think printed out flat tokens (available in the ITS .pdf) are exactly what we need there. So, how about a flat-packed, cardboard set of ITS Objectives? As in, made in the same technology as the terrain? Current ITS season requires: 6 Tech-Coffins, 4 Antennas 2 Beacons (on 25mm bases) 3 Panoplies 4 Consoles 3 Supply Boxes (25mm, S0 tokens) 8 Civillians (S2 models - let's don't expect every player, especially a newbie, to have even the mandatory one!) 4 Blizzard templates (standard round templates). It also requires an Objective Room, but one is provided in the Expansion Pack (along with a single console). That would be a set allowing you to play any single ITS scenrio (in the current season. It tends to evolve a bit between seasons, but apart from the Templates being of different terrain type, the previous ITS Season used the same objectives. ITS 11 was just a little different. I wasn't tracking that for earlier editions) I guess it would be a welcome purchase, both for newbie players, and for tournament organizers (and those experienced players who just can't find time / energy / spare money to buy MDF / reisin stuff & paint it / scratchbuild their own objective markers). How do you like the idea, @Koni ?
I think since they've started doing toppers and units from siocast, they can make a separate SKU - like 4-6 siocast Antennas/Consoles. Depending on the price, maybe even they should throw in few into army packs.
Oh, certainly they could. But this still requires these to be painted by the end user - and I guess a cardboard set will still be cheaper. Not to mention the logistics: I assume the siocast machines CB has are pretty busy making the miniatures, while the cardboard flats can be outsourced without straining CBs production capability. Just as the terrain ones are outsourced. Same as with buildings: carboard objectives need to be just punched out of the card and assembled. Maybe glued, if you really want that. Imagine - if you are a tournament organizer - having to fill a number of tables. With these cardboard kits you can do it quickly, inexpensively, and have them looking... well, not perfect, but acceptable. both terrain and objective-wise.
We have something in mind, but I'm afraid I cannot explaing anything at this point :) Eeeerrrr, this is Spain, dear player. Our lunchtime is in 2h more or less (but the update will happen very soon).
Army updated. Changelog here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/infinity-army-update-august-2022.41428/
seem to have an error on thrasymedes profil. In army he swap is LRL for a LFT. But patch note didn't seem to have that change.
@Koni : There is no 38points profile for the Ayyar. Is that 38points for Ayyar w/o Hidden or Forward Deployment?
Any kind of issue with the Army update, please use the proper thread: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/infinity-army-7-n4-updates-bugs.37729/page-76#post-440162
There is a sheet of cardboard objective tokens in the current ITS box, obviously not enough for a full tournament but possibly a sign of things to come? Another possibly might be a PVC set like the ones in the Defiance and TAG-Raid scenery packs, which are both pretty good IMO
I'm still supporting my original idea, which is a 3rd way. PVC steps on the toes of miniature production, and would have to be outsourced. And painted & assembled by the end user, so not that easy to deploy. Cardboard objective tokens are a step above what you could print and cut yourself, but is it a step worth taking? Especially if you need a number of these...?
Hi, I would like to express a long concern in france that we didn't whine about before the update because we where (wrongly) confident that it would be updated with the SSS rework. I hope there is still a chance for corvus to review this : Achilles feels still very N3. It is a good change that you removed the noob bait profiles with a multi rifle. But, his closed combat capacity (and his profile generaly) feels underwhelming now for his fluff and his cost points. The problem with close combat is actually a whole downgrade of the SSS (compared to the rest of the other armies). Martial art L3 was previously way stronger than L2 or L1. And there was far less profile with Natural Born Warrior in the game. It sems to be a skill that is given out easilly now and it makes our born/crafted super soldiers, recreations of mythical close combat heroes.... kinda meh in close combat against quite a lot a foes. We are fine that you wished to rebalanced close combat ranking and capacity. It is understandable that random myrmidons may be less proeficient (again by comparison) in the new ruling. But the officers ? And even more so Achilles ?? Have you checked how many profile hand his ass down in closed combat now? About close combat : Martial art lvl 4 is kinda meh. +1 dmg is... anecdotical. I have a small count (but not complete) of troopers that statistically win a closed combat vs Achilles, and by my understanding of the fluff, shouldn't and sometimes, the fight souldn't even be close: (i included some draws vs <20 points units) Armand 'le muet', 2burst cc 21 vs 1B cc 24 Gunnar, 1b cc23 vs 1bcc 21. Taowu : 2b cc21 vs 1b cc 18 All imperial agents (even or win) Bearpod can win the gind war The unkown ranger : 1b cc26 vs 1b cc21 Diggers : 2b cc21 vs 1b cc 24 Mc Mannus 1b cc26 vs 1b cc 21 Cadin 1b cc26 vs cc 21 Wolfgang 1b cc22 vs 1b cc 18 I have only done 2 armies but the list is far longer. I don't see how achilles isn't a Natural Born Warrior, he was made for war.. even ajax kick his ass. The only reason is that he is N3, not really N4. That cry for change could concern the jsa as well. Achilles being hunted down in closed combat by some one less than half his price feels so wrong. For the others parts: -the V1 can't punch trought armor, that got heavily buffed in N4 and the Frenzy of the V2 is crippling fast especially now that we cannot link him anymore. -he suffers a lot from the N4 hacking. More hackers, most with 6th sense meaning stealth is useless. I, and other aleph player are okay that hacking should remain a big weakness of the Man and tht his resilience toward hacking shouldn't improve, but when compared with other "super hero"profile like the unknown ranger... it is severly over costed and under efficient. Hemay lack a tactical awareness (that makes sense for the god of war of aleph) and other tweaks. We were quiet hopping that the rework of the SSS would reworks these points (that the update from N3 to N4 forgot completely). I would now like to adress these issues. Hopping that it's not too late for you to make some changes. Best regards to the team.
