Eep. Achilles won’t be having a good day then if it’s following the Iliad. Well to be fair, he’ll be having a bloody and vengeful day so it’s probably just his Wednesday.
Yeah, I kinda feel like SP got gutted in this updated. But I will wait until the profiles are in army before I start complaining.
They get more HMGs to get out of the deployment zone. But we have to probably wait to see if their cores are still capped at 4 men (the video did not mention a limitation).
Plz help me with this one. Either my META differs immensly to everyone elses and lacks a missirable amount of sniperturrets in enemy depZones, linked MSV2 snipers and MissleLaunchers or my Tables are way less open, or both.... Yes, most of this army starts in the depZone, but theey have a huge access to smoke, eclipse smoke and even albedo units (ok, short ranged, but still). also MSV2 long range and also HMG options, combined with AD and (some, not camo) infiltrators. I rly cannot see what more u need to be able to leave the DZ? or am i just a summer kid with enemies unable to deploy long range weapons on houses?
It is more a historical thing. In N3, a major complaint of Steel Phalanx was they had very limited long range firepower. You are correct that with all their smoke options, it was mostly not too bad. With this update they got more long range firepower, a TAG, and skirmishers. Those were most of the issues that were considered weaknesses for them. We will see with the new Army update how this will fit together.
I always felt the same. MO suffered the same opinion for a long time. Sometimes I think that the only option for leaving DZ people see is via a long range shooting match using a linked HMG. It's like there are no other tools to get into range or outflank one's opponent -_- I'm not going to judge anything before seeing full context after update next week, but I do have some questions. Is Achilles v1 getting cut as well? What are Makhai? What is Caribdis (in Fireteams Chart), was that supposed to be Scylla? Will the remaining characters see some changes as well (Eudoros could use it, tbh)?
I believe she'll only be a HVT in the Black Wind box, and officially be added to the roster later. We believe she'll be a doctor/hacker, due to her dossier having both a pitcher and a medikit. On another note. Please do let Agamemnon be a centaur mech. That'd be so damn radical. I did a doodle of it.
Video didn't show everything, there's another Steel Phallus unit with no rules yet. They will go up on Army on the 4th with the rest of the updates
Next week is when the updates to HB and Steel Phallus are being uploaded to Army as that's when the first boxes will be in customer hands. Much like with the new Kosmoflot, MO, Corregidor, and Morat profiles were added the same day Raveneye and the MAF box got into customer hands.
What is the exact date for shipping? I'm ordering from Wayland games and it says end of August, but Corvus belli store says August 1...thinking of switching from and buy from Corvus directly....
CB are starting shipping on the 1st, though generally the earliest shipments go to distributors who in turn supply game stores. The 4th of August date is chosen because that's the start of Gen Con where attendees can buy it from their booth. I wouldn't bother changing your preorder, at most it'd probably be a week or two earlier and you might have to deal with import duties or administration costs ordering direct from CB.
Been waiting a long while for this! I'm warming to most of it right now after getting over a couple of the poses. The Aleph stuff looks great and it makes me happy I just happen to have a couple of the models from the sectorial anyway (feels less bad if I pre-order the lot). I like the female Daylami's, the power pose male looks overkill for the line troop though. The Nadhir's helmet layers look a bit weird, but should be easily sorted if I wanted to take one off the top. The HVT's look great, the Nomad one has a bit too much complexity in her mask and the paintjob hasn't shown this up so well from the limited things I saw. New Haqq support bot sounds interesting - crate'Haqq'o'matic.
that would be cool but looking at the released stats for agam it seems to be a light/scout class tag. that art is worthy of mbt also rip Patroclus, Diomedes and Thamyris.and everyone who bought or uses those characters... still hoplite is a disappointment to me, just noticed the have Immunity total so not as much! (still) unless theres been a major nerf to myrms (minor not i see that lost ava Total) its not going to see much use
What I like about Hoplites is that they represent a proper anvil unit, something that SP was missing. Sure, Homeridae are tough, but they're also expensive, and mostly rely on Mim(-6) and NWI. Even with Shock Immunity this isn't so tough a combination, a single good heavy weapon hit can deal with it (and we're seeing a lot of Feuerbachs, Autocannons, Multi weapons and Continuous Damage being passed around). With Hoplites, not so much, and they're affordable enough for that toughness. I'm really interested what Makhai will be, and what SP Fireteam will be able to do. For now we're seeing some decent ranged options in there.
The Μάχαι Mákhai, "battles"; (singular: Μάχη Mákhē) were the daemons of battle and combat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machai So that's not super helpful, except that Scylla, Drakios and Charybdis are named Makhai in the Fireteam list. My larger concern is that myrmidons are 0-1 in a myrmidon fireteam... @Koni is that number a mixup with myrmidon officer?
