I think Shang Ji link teams are not a thing for N3. I (hope and) wait for a rework of the profiles. At the moment I use Zhanshi teams without heavy weapons, including Tian Guo (proxy) and either Lei Gong or Adil. For the firepower I take Daofei, Hundun, Tiger or Rui Shi.
Again I'm gonna say what are you expecting really? This is kinda the reality of trying to run expensive core HI links. If I'm running Shang Ji/Jujaks it's probably going to look something like this, pending Shang Ji changes of course. The HMG could push up the field, or it could sit at the back and join the Zhanshi core and just be used to brute force an opening to move the Duo's through, let them be the front line, and then sweep up whatever attacks them.
Why shang Ji HMG instead of Qiang Gao? He costs a point less, .5 SWC less, and has Fatality and Veteran.
It's a place holder, we don't know exactly how the Shang Ji profiles (or Qiang) are changing. The HMG Shang Ji will probably pick up a chain colt and regeneration and AP for his HMG if the code 1 profile is anything to go off.
