The only possible reason I can fathom is if CB had to ship the goods by sea and that caused the delay.
USA. I don't know that CB "delayed" anything, it could be a distributor or a shipment lost or delayed or a meteorite hitting a bus or anything. I just know my book didn't arrive yet. :)
Could also be a customs cockup, a lot of countries are seeing random delays at customs due to a rise in the volume of online shopping and shipping because of the pandemic.
The store closest to me listed the n4 book as a pre-order and then switched it to sold out. Looking online, the usual suspects all showed pre-order or out of stock too. Eventually I found a seller in Canada, Torchlight Games, who had it and ordered it from them.
I ordered direct from CB and received mine a couple of days ago. A friend ordered his through the LGS and got notification of it being ready for pickup the other day as well. Sounds like MM's distributor didn't have enough to fill their order and put them on hold. Possibly MM didn't get enough to cover all their orders in one go?
Market is my local store, and I truly love them. Great staff, great store. However, I won't preorder from them for anything that has an "Limited Edition" aspect to it. They are either incapable of preordering correctly or their distributor routinely screws them over. I give pretty good odds on the latter; I imagine they're not super popular with the majority of any given distributor's other customers.
My LGS has had issues with their distributor not sending CB's pre-order minis at the same time as the books. They usually show up a couple of days later, so it's not a huge deal, just annoying.
The local store (Durham, NC) I use is Atomic Empire. My order came in last Friday (Oct 2nd) and they actually had the preorder miniature show up with the books for a change. Hopefully I can drive out and pick up my order this weekend.
That's where I was hoping to snag a copy. I thought that they would have a copy or two after filling pre-orders, but I was wrong.
Keep an eye on the store. Almost every book that has come out since I started playing has had a couple spare copies on the shelf with preorder miniature for a month or so after the people who preordered got their's. Are you trying to have it shipped, or are you going into the store to shop?
My initial plan was to drive up when they showed it in stock. It never did. This is my first time seeing an infinity release and I wasn't sure how it might go. I had thought the store would get it on release day and then by that Saturday the site would show if they had any left. As it happened it stayed in pre-order for days after and then went to out of stock.
I think the last couple books didn't show up with miniature on the shelf for a few days or maybe even a week or so. It's one of those things where you just need to pop in every so often. Pre-pandemic I worked a mile from the store, so my lunch hour was a good time to swing by. Now I'm 30 miles away remotely working from home. Not as easy for me to zip over. If I was close enough for lunch trips I could have kept an eye out for you.
Dang, I don't even play Aristeia but i'll definitely still buy the Parvati pack for the figurine alone.
Ooh, do we know when that'll be out? Won't that be a while since the XI one with the Jotum comes out this month?
How's everybody in NC? It seems the old NC crowd doesn't post here anymore (FKB, Todd, Dlfleetw) Ah, the good old days. I've had good luck ordering from GameNerdz. I just end up waiting an extra week or so to get my shinies. They tend to have extras too. You can still get Daedalus' Fall with the LE brawler. And at a nice sale price.
@Red Harvest I wish we (UK) had a sale like that on Daedalus' Fall, that LE Brawler is sweet but I could never justify the full cost of the book!
