Finished another reinforcement model: The Ment agent. Still not a fan of the pose, but I like her much better in that color scheme and with a different face:
Interesting conversions, Ment is really nice, only comment I would have is that a severed Gecko head would probably have its lights turned off.
I thought about that as well, but in the end I went for coolness over realism ;) Could also be a spare battery system that kicked in :P
Your Tinker & Zetbot is better the the box art! See her abs - Yours is much beter. Casn you tell more about paints used? wchat is teh colour of the blue gray bra and khaki brown trousers?
Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on the forums a lot lately. Thank you for those nice words! Sure, here are the color recipes (they are in fact quite similar to what I posted back in the day, but not exactly the same): Dark blue cloth Base: AK Interactive Dark Sea Blue Highlight: AK Interactive Dark Sea Blue + VMC Blue Grey (50/50) Highlight: VMC Blue Grey Brown leather Base: VMC Flat Earth Shade: VMC Smoke Highlight: VMC US Field Drab Edges: VMC Dark Sand
I also just realized there are still a couple more O-12 minis I haven't shown yet. For example, these Jackboots: I have to say it’s been a long time since I enjoyed painting an Infinity miniature this little. I’m sure it wasn’t just the sculpt’s fault (although they are exceptionally fiddly and surprisingly small), but also my fatigue of painting this color scheme. These were the second-to-last O-12 minis I painted before selling the army, and I really couldn’t wait to never paint the scheme again. I hope it’s not noticeable and I was able to deliver the usual quality, but no, these didn’t spark joy... Jackboot HMG Honestly, it didn't help that only one of the three Jackboots that come in the box actual has the correct loadout on the mini these days. For example, the HMG above is technically a Spitfire on the sculpt – but the profile only has an HMG now. The weapons look similar enough though that I didn't bother replacing it. There also is no Combi Rifle loadout anymore (the weapon the guy beklow had originally). So, since the HRL looked like one of the actually interesting profiles, this guy got a Heavy Rocket Launcher courtesy of Haqqislam instead. Jackboot Heavy Rocket Launcher While the guns of the last of the Jackboots, the engineer, were correct, I had to do a headswap. The original face just looked like the failed experiment of a mad dentist, so I found a 3D-printed helmet that would reasonably fit in with the others, even if it's not 1:1 the same. Jackboot Engineer
Thank you both! Last reinforcement model: My version of the Nightshade. I will never understand why Corvus Belli released the only Nightshade sculpt they would ever produce with a Boarding Shotgun instead of a Submachine Gun. They knew they were never going to make a second sculpt, they knew three out of the four loadouts (and the only ones ever taken) have SMGs, and yet: BSG. Not only is it a useless loadout, it also means this model has a huuuuge gun sticking out a full cenimeter over the base. Why? Naturally, I replaced it.
Yeah unfortunately that's all to common with them coming out with the one figure that no one uses or least used. The Hatae is the same situation. You know most will take the HRL but instead you do the HMG. Thankfully with N5 they changed it to AP HMG.
Thank you! Happens all the time, yeah. Initiated Observants came in BSG and Hacker (who also has a BSG) and not a single SMG (the most popular loadout) and so on. Another mini I slightly converted: Sonya Lacroix, but without the giant Multi Rifle. I wanted to emphasize her cop background (and I also didn't want tot paint another giant gun), so she got a different arm and a 3D-printed pistol:
Still enjoying seeing your work even though this paint scheme no longer spark joy for you. As for the loadouts, I no longer care what's on the model because not only the profiles change with each new edition, but I also have preference change too. E.g. I noticed I'm taking BSG profiles over SMG because I find SMG is just so wimpy.
Burlesford, I want to thank you not only for showing amazing models painted, but to be honest, because now YOUR pics are my painting guide.
That's high praise @Willen, thank you! Thanks, and you're right. I don't much care about WYSIWYG these days as well. So many loadouts don't have models, and most times it doesn't matter anyway. In this case I just found it especially silly because the Aleph/O-12 shotgun is so freaking huge and looks incredibly stupid on this model. Alright, I saved the biggest of them for last. Here's the Firebat, tactical satellite dish included: I honestly had more fun painting this than the Go-Pod, which doesn't mean I had a lot of fun, just that it's the easier model to paint because of the better defined edges. Still not a fan of any of these flyers so far. They don't fit the feel of Infinity imo, and I don't think I'll ever get any of them for myself.
