I know, I love the release of Tunguska but seriously. Are we at this point where Corregidor is just a sectorial that gets the sloppy outdated and bottomfeeder profiles and expects to be carried by the Intruder? This isn't an attack on the Tunguska units as much as it's a post about how it's at this point trolling to bring a Mobile Brigada, now that it competes with Kriza Borac, Taskmaster, Riot Grrls and now this. :S
Mobile Brigada feels weak but CJC has Jaguar teams, Intruders, Tomcats, Morans, Bandits, Gecko duos... all strong units. Very playable. McMurrough too is a Tunguskan nightmare, they don't like dodging or templates or CC
keep calm and try to make an army with tunguska. take the needed things and lets see if you can find any points for these babies.
An argument to be made here is that the mobile brigada is still more ideal on missions involving holding zones with army points. They're worth more points, equally combat effective, and better at dodging. So holding a zone is in the brigada's court. In a killing mission, the hollow man is better because you lose less points when it dies and it can dish out an equal amount of pain. Always remember that each unit has a purpose. It just depends on the parameters of the mission. In corregidor, the sectorial doesn't get hollow men and vice versa, so they don't overlap. In vanilla, build your list to better suit the mission itself. This is just some food for thought to mitigate some of the power creep.
on the other hand, i agree that mobile brigadas suck in corregidor. they are much better suited to starco for instance.
Let Lupe join the MB. Drops the cost and gives some extra stuff i guess? This has been inevitable coming and Orcs have the same issue.
You should consider how bad a weakness the combination of PH10 CC10 is. I feel similar comparisons with the su jian are incoming but PH10 really is bad times, template weapons (emarats, zappers, mines anyone?), change facing, glue, dodge vs smoke, these guys have some very rough matchups vs extremely cheap regularly taken units: something like a brigada is a much better generalist.
You reset against cybermines, so they'll be rolling WIP which is a bit better, plus they have that High BTS. E/Mauler is a much better choice if you can get it.
Meh. PH10 Dodge with one BTS3 roll vs 13 damage, WIP10 (Cybermines give -3 to Reset) Reset with 2 BTS6 rolls vs 15 damage - same-ish results. Cybermines have better chance to work, E/Marat has better chance to knock them out for good if it works, but needs LoF.
It's a PH7 dodge, E/mauler's still inflict the minus 3 penalty and Cybermines still need LoF to go off. 2 rolls for cybermines is nice, but IMM-1 is temporary and can be cleared via further Resets. Both will stop it them in the short term, but I'd personally prefer an e/mauler. Edit: plus e/m isolates and that will pull them out of a link.
Not really. E/Maulers are quite rare, Chain Rifles/Nanopulsers won’t do anything really. With 50% chance to dodge and +50% to pass your relevant save there’s less than 25% chance that your DTW will do anything. You’re really overselling their weakness for reasons unknown to me.
My biggest gripe with the Mobile Brigada is the lack of a Haris option. Other than that, I've come to terms with the place of Mobile Brigada in the faction. And Riot Grrls are still better than Hollow Men.
One thing that confuses me is that the announcement shows AVA2, but the army builder has AVA5, if they're really AVA2 (which would fit with the fluff that was just released), the lower cost could make sense.
