I've made my points about the Pheasant Duo in the recent thread on the forum - I guess it's a situational argument, but that has relevance in certain ITS scenarios...

Yeah, I tried to stay away from ITS related stuff really as these change all the time, and I don't know how frequent I'll be updating this Tactica in the following years. If there are some other awesome niches that they can be good in it'd be interesting though

Mmm i will like the help but i don't feel confident enought to write text for a public.

Respect unit description i will try to make my little aportation. Maybe it should be worth to say that kanren sniffer + EVO + SON BAE makes a very good combo on ISS. We are the only sectorial that, with a right deployment and a good sat locl roll can shot guided missiles from 2 order.

[IMG] Missile combo──────────────────────────────────────────────────[IMG]4 [IMG] Yaókòng SON-BAE Lanzamisiles Inteligente / Pulso Eléctrico. (1.5 | 18)[IMG] Yaókòng WÈIBĪNG Fusil Combi, Sniffer / Pulso Eléctrico. (0 | 16)[IMG] PANGGULING Hacker (Disp. de Hacker EVO) Pulso Eléctrico. A trick worth saying is the combo with Mayor Lunah + Nimbus. It's a bit situacional but against cheap defensive links with heavy weapons (from runtss to Unidrons) you can just shot 1 shot at 15 ( +6 marksman X +3 weapon range - 6 Nimbus cover) against if they don't have vision one dice at -3 ( -3 cover, - 3 nimbus, - 3 mimtism).

But i have to say good job and vary noce guide

Thank you for the kind words @krossaks !

I thought about those options you mentioned, but frankly I think they are too situational to really warrant a special mention. Sure if those situations ever occur they are helpful, but we are talking about 1 in every 20 games or so possibilities I think..or do you regularly find yourself in these situations?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

I now added a "What to buy next after the Starter Box?" Part, as well as a table of content and a Debriefing at the end. With this the majority of my planned work for now is ready! I plan to add a "Useful Links" section soon, but I can't do so now cause my internet on this computer doesn't open most of them -.-

As mentioned before, if you have additional tips/tricks or ideas, let me know, I'll try to collect a few of them and then eventually add them to the Tactica, so don't get discouraged should your idea not get entered immediately, I'll hopefully get around to it sooner than later :-)

Honestly I wouldn't undersell the duo pheasants. They're a very order efficient way of getting a good gun and a specialist or some mad trap board control around, especially given our lack of infiltrating minelayers and such. I find iss work really well with the multiple duos available, especially if going more elite for a ten order group (limited insertion especially)

The problem with the pheasant duo is that you don't want two chain of command (too expensive), we have more interesting options to spread mad traps everywhere (kanren + litterally every single one of our core/haris links) and the sniper might be one of the least interesting profile in the game, so it really only leaves Red fury and Hacker profile if you want your duo to be the best at "not just sitting around".

Let them chill in your 2nd group, with the hacker buffing your HIs/Remotes while the CoC plays the "not dying before the lieutenant" mini-game. Then, when turn 3 comes (or earlier if you need the orders), move them both in your first group and send them out there to win the game: the red fury should be able to stomp anything left at this point (or at the very least deal with it with decent odds), while the hacker can be moved around to push buttons, do a handfull of classified, or deal with heavier target (gotcha + link bonus makes pheasants really good at CC).

Such duo would probably be quite effective as late-game sweeper on missions like Comm Center, the Grid or Tic-Tac-Toe.

    ---------------------------------------

Anyway, the tactica's nice, I'd probably try to summarize the strenght/weaknesses a tad more. I'd also put an emphasis on the fact that even though kuang-shi aren't necessary, very little to no deployement outside of the DZ combined with order-hungry options (nimbus, sensor, non-impetuous smoke...) and almost no redudancy means that most units in the sectorial will need the kuang-shi's order to operate at their full potential.

I might have more things to add but i'd rather re-read some things before writing a text wall.

Also i would have named the Tactica Law and Orders, 'cause you know, kuang-shis!

You should note that the Chaiyi Yaokong has mimetism as well as the WIP 13 flash pulse - this makes a pretty solid little ARO piece. For me, this makes it an auto include for an 8 point order with some utility if I have one or two spaces spare in an order group. Pangulling also fall into the cheap order pool remote, but unless you need baggage to dominate a table sector or reload something the chaiyi is the first choice. 24pts buys you ISS's cheapest three regular orders if you buy the three 8 point remotes.

For 23 points you can have a Kuang Shi controller and 2 kuang shi, which starts to be more point efficient order pool but also costs you 0.5 SWC. There are lots of other factors (redundancy of smoke launchers, repeater coverage, impetuous vs straight regular orders, dogged chain rifles, link juggling etc) but in many lists taking the three cheap order remotes is a good way to fill out your order pool.

Is it just me, but I can't find the 5 member only bao option in the army? It says up to 4 bao + 1 pheasant. You wrote that it could include 5 bao in one team. Also I thought that the pheasant is obligatory but that's may be just my fluff oriented imagination.
It is a great roundup otherwise so pardon my inconvenient questions. :D

You can't have 5 Bao because they are AVA4, but generally a core of all the same unit won't be written out like special mixed core teams are. For example, Domaru currently have FT:Core and AVA5, but a listing for a special link team of up to two Domaru and up to three Haramaki -- you can still take a core of 5 Domaru because they are the same unit and have the FT:Core skill.

It does say "Fireteam: Core, 4 Bao + Pheasant, and then a Special Fireteam afterwards.

I frankly interpreted this as them having the ability to form both a normal Core Fireteam, as well as a 4 Bao + Pheasant Core, but maybe I am wrong here!

Like I said, some of the options mentioned I didn't have any personal experience with, and the Fireteam Core pure Bao is definitely one of them, so I might be wrong on it.

What do you guys say, is it possible or am I wrong? If I'm wrong I'll simply remove the entry.

It's mostly curiosity on my behalf. The army screen says Special Fireteam: Core. Yesterday I found on another thread on this forum (if interested I can google it again), that these fireteams should be used as special constraints. The fluff said baos were too "harsh" or "direct" in most scenarios, so the ISS decided that a pheasant should always overlook them.

But I recently had another similar question about fireteams in our facebook group, and it divided the readers to say the least.

Not just that other fireteams were on the discussion there, but I wrote it just now in other thread to keeps things here clean. I totally say the same as you, but I would like to hear a more official opinion about this.

There is no divide, just my inability to properly read apparently :-P I'll remove the pure Bao Core Team entry from the list.

Sorry, my intention was to clear things up, and not to offend anybody. My wording was misleading, and was the descripition of facebook discussion I head, not of this thread.

Oha, apparently I came across as offended, don't worry, I wasn't in the slightest, it's just like I said, apparently I failed to properly read the entry not only once but twice when I checked it again (I could have sworn it was a normal Fireteam: Core, not a Special Fireteam: Core) :-P thus my inability to read properly.

Thank you very much for clearing this up! I'd hate to confuse people with a big mistake like that in the Tactica.

Sounds like this is already sorted out, but I thought I'd point out that army states the Special Fireteam the same way as it does for Kuang Shi. You definitely can't fireteam core 5 kuang shi without the controller.

It says "Core" because that's the type of special fireteam (Core, Triad, Enomotarchos, Haris, Duo). Nevertheless the special composition rules must be met.

The tactica is great by the way, I enjoyed reading it!
