She must have stole it from the Wu Ming... and decided to deploy the butt to make it even longer. Same goes to the Jinwei with their incredibly long and weird E/Mitter when anybody else would have it plugged on the main weapon (and I'm not talking about the Heavy Riotstopper taking the same design and thus looking nothing like the concept art, making me think we'll never see another HRS on a YJ mini). Don't expect anything for IA and White Banner apart from the odd things coming from other sectorials (Feiquan for WB and Sacha for IA). For IS, as the miniatures are no more in store, we could see a repack with a Kanren, Hsien HMG and Luna (unless they are waiting for her Hexadome Legend miniature to make a new one for Infinity too). It could even be a character pack with Adil, Sun Tzu and Luna, leaving another repack for both Kanren and the Hsien HMG (even if the Switcher Gruppa box shows we can have a Kanren rebox with both of them and two Madtraps). If there is a CG with SGL release, I bet it will be with two Kuang Shi. I don't expect other loadout as giving options to line troops is becoming a very rare occurrence lately (nothing for Fennecs or Senku yet), even if a box of two CG + Dragon Lord could make sens (but I don't expect another Dragon Lord either). Apart from a Bao + Pheasant (or Zhanying, or Pheasant... anything "Zhian" in fact) box they could make : - Koga, Quianfeng, Crane box (something akin to the Shindenbutai Gamma pack) - Shénji TB, Pheasant doc, 2 old Yaosao (even if I don't see another Shénji be done).
I had a fun idea they could do. If they have the ability. For Kanren; they could do one figure in metal like normal, then two others in clear plastic done with the siocast. They would be the decoys.
Look at the render picture. Its the Riotstopper with added E-Mitter. The Shenji has a E-Mitter Turret, so I think all others are too small - especialy the little knot on the Wu Ming SMG. Which would be great for CB because if you are new and want 4 Kuangs, you have to buy the box twice. Still provides you with two SGL, one for Kuang, one for CG. Not a good tendency. I would buy SWC Zhanshi just for the look. Nah. Best Decoy is a painted miniature. Markers are for Camo decoys.
I wouldn't hate a redesign of kanren if we do end up with a kanren and pair of bao at some point. The current models esthetics is a mismatch compared to its profile.
I wouldn't hate a re-desgin either but they seems to be avoiding re-designs. The have one hacker, that unfortunately has a gun that only the KHD has, the other is a CCW and pistol that can be just about anything else. They are technically still good. Sadly, they are just not great troops now. Well, they never were great, but they didn’t get better either. I might be negative today but I feel if the faction is not Nomads or Combined, we won't be seeing any new troops for a long time to come. We know now that this new CA sectoral is coming out this fall and next spring should be USARF. So don’t expect many new figures and probably a lot of re-packaging of old.
I'm sharing this just for the hell of it. Shaolin upgrade! The Sohei essentially are this. Regular, Frenzy, ARM3. But lower Wip and not very good weapon choices. They MUST have smoke. As I’ve said before I’d rather that Shaolin had Para CCW to keep in-line with being Buddhist. The main weapon of Shaolin was the staff. Yes they knew other weapons but that was more for training to fight AGAINST them rather than with them.
Sorry guys, i'm not on the ball here with the previews. As I’ve said elsewhere, I like the look of it a lot but the effectiveness of it feels the worse of the bunch. Only one disposable weapon good outside of 16” range. The rest 0-16” and the cost is a lot in comparison to others. .5 SWC? For a multi-rifle and ADHL? Even with +1 Burst it’s not worth taking up SWC. The X-Visor doesn’t help. MSV would make it worth it.
The rest il 0-24 thanks to the X-Visor that doesn't help... And a MULTI-Rifle B+1 with BS12 and Mim-6 is scary enough to be taken into account...
A MR is not that scary. For only 3pts more, the Go-Pod has an option with +1B MR, and an E/Mitter rather than a carbine. With better BS and then BS Attack -3 and Mim -3. The only troops that can get through are Govad, Bolts and a single Frontovik. But who takes that when for 33pts you have an +1B, SR-1, HRL? Oh and a Peripheral because...Nomads. Either Go-Pod needs to go up in price or the Feiquan needs to go down. But i'm talking out of my ass because I'm not buying it because it costs too much money Anyway, on to the Future! I’m guessing there will be new Bao, Celstial Guard hacker and/or SGL. I’m hoping for a different weapon Koga Ninja but mainly to be a proxy for Sulsa. The Kogo is ok. So far it’ hasn’t done much for me. After that, I sadly don’t foresee them coming out with much Yu Jing in the following years.
New Bao would be great. I didn't get the old ones because I think they look ass. I already have two versions of SGL so don't need another one of those.
Now with Next Wave taking up space, I’m not super confident we will be seeing more IS troops any time soon. They now have at least one out for the new troops. Just look at others that had a revival and didn’t get much past the initial re-do. Except for Bakunin that is. Look at Torchlight. I highly doubt there will be any of the other Silver Stars or Striders made. You can take two Striders but you can only get one in the main box. That’s it. Sinden is pretty much done too. New Troops with at least one figure. Just as I said. It's the character, not a regular Spec Op. And he's stupid expensive. Regular price of 30.00?! For essentially 1 figure. The Madraps might never come out on the table. Sure he has minelayer but there's times you don't want to use it. He looks cool but he has yet to ever be put into any of my lists. He just doesn't do more than any other specialist. And giving him Disco baller but the downgrading his Combi and LFT to an SMG is NOT helping. If he had kept the Combi and LFT but was few more points for DB I might have considered it. At least his backpack is not big and ugly like the old one. Not enough for me to buy him though for that price.
Koga without Bow will double as Hacker and Minelayer. I also want this - with EM Carabin visible could be used for all loadouts. AVA2 and 3 camomarkers would be nice! Crane Hacker is 2nd best loadout. A Crane with Multi Rifle will do it. I have the old one to cover this. Also the lim.ed. Mini. But actualy for new players there only the HMG. Shinji Thunderbolt could be another weird box with cover in siocast? Anyway I want this also. Will be a good additon. Pheasant Doctor should be a must have because its the only doc in the sectorial. I have the very old one with sword and I also swapped the combi from a CG with the RF from the Phesant from the army pack - fits very well. I have the fem. Ref Fury which I like much more than Bat Man Head. Vanguard Hacker is not needed because the SMG already covers this loadout. I am happy with Su Jian like it is. I would add Baos as the are announced to be in the pipeline. From the old one only the MSR has its correct weapon. Contender (+1B) would be great. I also miss CG with MMR. CG with SGL is also not available for new players. CB like to do boxes of three so: 2 Bao with Pheasant Doc? would also cover a very nice fireteam. With CG - would not make so much sense, so its likely that they opt for that. Kanren and Ninjas are also not available anymore. So Kanren could fit with two CG. For a Ninja you have to bought in JSA ... and Kuani - I think they will not come back as a regular release. Kuang Shi box is still available so if the care to give new players a new CG with SGL it could be together with a MMR. The also could do a repack with SGL and 2 Kuang later, but this would be inconsistent with the new look of CGs. We also miss Sun Tze resculpt. May I will buy him then.
Twice they have come out with a figure that I never use. The Pheasant Red Fury. Why do they keep coming out with the profile that’s the least used? For me anyway. Sure, it has TacAware, but it’s got a mediocre gun and is expensive. Then it’s on your CoC guy who you really don’t want to be your frontline shooter. It’s not even good in CC anymore. My ideal next box would be: Zhian fireteam; Pheasant Doctor, Bao Sniper, Bao Flash Pulse (that would cover all other weapons). I noticed on new box sets, they have been doing two of one troop. Example: Wu Ming, Jinwei, Tanuki, Konductors, etc. That's why I think two Bao. Next would not be ideal for me but I can see them doing well: Koga E-carbine, Kanren BSG, Sun Tze Thunderbolt. But knowing CB one of these will probably have something no one uses, like the Zhanying ML or HMG.
It is not a frontline shooter. It helps moving around and its a good T3 shooter, when the big guns already went quite. Now that we have only one doctor option and that is a Pheasant also, Red Fury has to take a step back. So I feel very unpleasant that they put the doctor role on a CoC unit. I understand, that they want ISS to pay more (but I not understand why) for doc and eng but this is too much, so for pure reviving reasons, I would go with Daikini Para. And yes, CC should be 19/20. But this is a ever struggeling unit, that maybe never will be realy good and now the put even a function more on their fragile shoulders. This indeed is what I would like to see also. Two Bao and Doctor (even if I have two minis, that would cover this). Koga with electro carabine would be great addition. I still wonder if we see CG SGL 3nd gen. and CG M-MMR. Together with Hsien MMR or Crane Hacker. Krane I don´t care so much, but for completness they have to bring at least one back to the new audience.
