MI slow down a link anyways, adding LI doesn't really help them. Unless Sekban want a FO or 1 SWC Spitfire there's no reason to put Hafza in. Druze can save points on the Brawlers but if they made a cheap profile on the Druze instead it would be stronger.

You could mix Grenzers or you could give it a SMG profile if they wanted to balance their cost down.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tunguska had the best selection of LT options and maybe CoC. They are supposed to be the leaders of the Nomad Nation after all.

I am quite excited of the repercussions of this for Vanilla too, if Securitate are relatively cheap and 0 SWC for an LT they will definitely see some use from me.

CoC is something I consider every army should have one of. Would be excited to see CoC in Tunguska - but somehow doubt CB thinks the same way I do.

I'd rather see Nomads get Holoprojector than CoC, but no one in my meta hard focuses Lt assassination.

I haven't read the fluff books, but is Tunguska viewed as the leader of the Nomads? I know they're the bank and organized crime, but Corregidor seems to have its own organized hierarchy and Bakunin, well, we don't talk about Bakunin.

I don't know if they're necessarily the leader, depending on how we define it, but they've got a ton of influence. With Corregidor being "The Hand" Bakunin being "The Soul" and Tunguska being "The Money" and controlling the data vaults that they do, that makes them a pretty big part of what happens in the three Nomad motherships, and the sphere as a whole.

I prefer Nomads without Chain of Command. We're not a proper militairy force and it should be represented in the rules. That's why only Hexahedron' trained Emily has it in StarCo. I also dislike when Nomad players use Spec Ops to fill that weakness, instead of living with it.

Tunguska is going to shake things up a bit, but it is also interesting as there aren't too many profiles and yet the list must be complex enough to enable the creation of a multitude of lists and strategies.

CoC also seems to contradict the anarchic way of Nomads. So does the Lt. rule, but that's something we have to deal with as the basics of the game, I guess.

Regardless of wide held opinion Nomads are not a bunch of random dudes and dudesses runing around and drugging themeselves into freenzy. Corregidor has a regular forces so good that they go Mercenaries, while Tunguska has private army to keep it's bussiness running. Even Bakunin which people consider to be on the 'crazy' side of things - has some military units, not to mention black-ops ones. Seriously there's a wide space to fit Chain of Command into. What drives different Nomads is what differentiates us from other factions - If anything Nomad forces are more flexible due to being able to co-op with other Nomad ships, and we would probably all agree that each ship has it's individual style when it comes to waging war.

I think it's less 'Nomads are not organized' and more 'Nomads are not military'. Sure, Mercenary companies and black ops have some organization, but they tend to not be so rigid about hierarchy like an actual military would be. So I do agree that Nomads shouldn't get a CoC option. Even if I can understand all the benefits of it.

The only thing this release has me really interested in is how it's going to affect the Vanilla lists. I'm really hoping the Hollow Men are going to be some kind of lower end HI (arm/bts 3) with some cool specialist options, and I wonder where the heckler will fit between the Bandit, Spektr and Zero. Strangely, I tend to use one of each in my vanilla lists, so I'm curious about how the Heckler will fit in.

I remember that Bostria said to someone Hollow Men had MOV 6-2 and also he was asked at GenCon if they had jumper, and he said no they have holo-echoes.

So I reckon ARM 3 because that sounds like light, fast HI to me. But BTS probably 6 because Tunguska and Nomads in general have good BTS.

Holo 2 light HI have a good test case already.

Nomads are organized but just not to a degree that losing their commander is seamless and causes no confusion. It's like saying we have marksmen so we should have 15 BS: we're already on an elite scale, 13 BS are marksmen. Or that we have foot soldiers so we should get Sapper, good bio tech so Doctor+, gritty soliders so more Dogged, Good terms with Ariadna so T2 weapons, good engineers should be able to reverse engineer plasma, etc. etc.
Some things should be reserved for other factions to maintain a scale otherwise everyone has access to the highs and low at once.

Do we have confirmation that Heckler is an infiltrator yet?

Hollow Men have me excited, my meta leans REM heavy but only a few of us lean into it with supportware. The option to give them B2 ARO or MML2 should shake things up and really bolster the whole "Nomads as hacker army" trope.

Still dying to see the Nautical Zond profile, I really hope that didn't get cut.

Yeah I agree. Nomads do have an efficient system for when the LT falls over, as does everyone else, it's called nominating a new LT at the end of the turn.

Chain of Command is a level above that, and a definite rarity. Tunguska might get it. They might not, though.

It's not about organized or not. It's about a different way of organizing. Anarchist don't have any leaders so losing one doesn't effect them as much as it does a hierarchical organisation. Having to assigne one already stretches the whole idea of an ananrchist army. Of course they need to have another drawback to balance it one way or another.

There is none. Only assurance that it will be something different than what we have now - so no Zero/Moran/Spekt/Prowler type for sure.

I don't think that's an accurate understanding of their fluff. The political theories on anarchy that Nomads are based on aren't the same as the pure definition of anarchy.

And no military unit can run on anarchy - units without military discipline get slaughtered whole cloth, so if you join a military unit, you're getting stuck in a chain of command.

    Period.

Infinity is about SpecOps though and not war. You certainly can operate on that level as a team without hierarchy. And if some red space apes and A.I. can do it why not humans?

No, I don't think you can.

Morats act the way they do because of being superhumanly organized and the EI uses literal mind control they have the most rigid commands in the game.

Irregular troopers fit McNamara's statement. They've been given a briefing before deployment and they're going for the same objective in a semi coordinated fashion.

    From the Bandit's fluff:
"The Mexican General himself made a secret offer to the shamans of the many tribal groups of Lazareto: Black Hand would provide those chosen by the spirit with intensive training and, in return, they would become independent covert operatives, fundamentally deniable assets to the Nomad Military Force."

Naturally this only works for small forces that know their jobs for that specific mission, but that's Infinity's pitch.
