Hello everyone and it's nice to meet you!

I'm new player from Poland (sorry for any potential language mistakes...) who had been looking at Infinity for some time. I've watched some battle reports, artworks, read about factions on the website.
Today I made a decision that I'll start collecting and playing this game! I love the sci-fi theme and military/scecops-styled narration.
But there goes a problem. Which faction should I start playing? I've already chose 3:

    1. Varuna Sectorial (beatiful models, aquatic theme, TAGs)
    2. Invincible Army (many heavy infrantry, good potential for painting them as Cerberus from Mass Effect 3)
    3. Japanese Secesionist Army (beatiful models, samurai, robots)

I like all of them but I don't want to get burnt by difficulty of my army or very complex playstyle. I like challenges but I think that the game itself will be a sort of first challenge and I want to have fun with it :)
I've heard that there are some armies that are not recomended for newbies because they require knowledge about how they play and need to be mastered to get most from them.
I want to start an army that will have tactical possibilies eg. covering fire while other units will go for objectives or do some ambushes. I know that is not very precise description but I believe that more experienced wise players as you guys will give me a helping hand :)

Looking forward to talk with you and kind thanks in advance!

Well, there are a few of us Poles around, so do not worry :)

As for army... the old advice is "pick the one you like the look of most" (and wonder oh wonder, it works!). That being said, Varuna and Invincible Army are likely to have more up-to-date sculpts than JSA, I think.

I nice to hear that are few of us here :)
    Nice to meet you!

The problem is that I love the look of all of them :/
But I'm afraid that eventually I fall into "a trap of beauty" and choose a faction that is very difficult for beginner...Or faction that is very hard to play semi-competitively (not on tournaments but also not for getting wrecked all the time) although I already heard that Infinity is quite balanced in this matter :)

Of the three JSA currently has the largest and most complete range of miniatures available, Varuna and IA were only became full fledged factions last November, with some of their profiles and models having formerly been only part of generic or "Vanilla" PanO/Yu Jing

Having said that JSA will likely have the steepest learning curve, as their playstyle involves bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Seems @colbrook and I agree that JSA is the least suggested one of the three.

Now, all the armies in Infinity tend to have a steep learning curve... I mean, the game has steep learning curve. Just a fact of life. Of those two we're left with, I'd personally go with the IA (because power armors! They give it some extra resilience. Also, personally I like their fluff a bit more).

Also, keep in mind that pokemonitis* is a common health condition among Infinity players. So, in time, you are likely to start collecting both of these armies anyway :P At this moment, really just pick the one you like most.

*as in: gotta collect 'em all!
