The new sculpt looks awesome. I'd disagree about all of them must look equal: If they're the catalog of beauty enhancing/plastic surgery corporations, there must be variety.

This is a list with the products sorted by faction (counting HVTs, dire foes and Operations boxes):

    Panoceania: 53
    Yu Jing: 36
    Ariadna: 54
Haqqislam: 51 -> 17 of them are QK exclusive -> 7 of them are N3 sculpts
    Nomads: 59
    Combined Army: 59
    Tohaa: 30

Well, maybe CB just want to update the QK starter and some blisters, then leave Qapu as finished for some time until RT gets announced. At that point it's wise from a business perspective to discontinue the older QK models to have a 50~ SKU catalog per faction as they're trying to achieve.

But even then RT is very close to be playable with the existing units, it just need 4-5 new profiles. So maybe only a couple of really old sculpts will be axed when the time comes.

A culture has an average perceived view of beauty. These are the tall, curved models on Vogue. This is the perceived view of beauty of a culture. That does not mean that it is the only view of beauty, but companies will cater to that view because its an average. They can measure their mannequins and clothes to that view and it will fit the majority of eyes they want on the product. This would be true for the Odalisques as well. There is no profit in the niche. They want their product to appeal to the wide market, and their imaginations. This would create a very similar body type among the Odalisques because they would all have the same market data.

As for QK, really guys, it is not going anywhere. Half of its roster is made up of Mercs and have SKU's belonging to NA2. I have no idea where this rumor that QK was going to be discontinued like FRRM, but it is just a rumor spawned by I don't know what. This is simply the continuation of the Haqqislam year of re-sculpts.

I actually wonder hoe are we with Hassassin Bahram in that. They got some resculpts, they have some stuff definitely waiting for a resculpt, but as I look at it...
    • Asawira Rifle / Shotgun / Doctor. I was actually surprised to see the spitfire Asawira as a separate blister: I considered them to be a perfect opportunity to sell us a box of 4 (Spitfire, AP Rifle, Shotgun or CCW-only universal proxy, Doctor with no gun, so he could work as either BSG or AP Rifle doc).
    • Lasiqs, who are a bad case of HS-era sculpt (I mean, they are not a bad pair of sculpts thmeselves, just undersized).
    • al-Djabel, but he holds well.
    • BSG Fiday, but apparently she is selling well too, as she had not been discontinued after a new Fiday turned up in the Beyond Red Veil set.
    • BSG Farzan. Again, a 2ed sculpt, but not a bad one.
The rest is up to date, I think. And of the list above, I think only Asawira and Lasiqs are badly needing new sculpts (of which, I assume, Asawira are going to get some, for Lasiqs it is not likely I guess).
Also, there are no Hassassin units being a part of another setioral (so far).

So, I guess, it would be easier to consider the HB to be complete, and send them out on a sabbatical in a year or so...

Wait, FOUR pages and no one has commented on the new Odalisque's hip bag and its implications? I'm shocked, shocked! I for one think we're getting the oh so needed Specialist Odalisque, but that's just me.

And concerning QK going the MRRF way, while I don't find it likely at all, it's also not a source of concern. MRRF was not discontinued from the game, its units are still playable; and, with the new ITS Proxy rules, there is no reason not to play the Sectorial, should anyone want to. If at some point they say the same about QK, or any other Sectorial, it's not the end of the world.

Agreed. I mean, there are already new sectorial who aren't receiving any new updates, and they likely won't (SAA, HB, QK, CHA, CJC). If the old models are getting removed from the catalog because poor sales, it's fine. If someone like the models, they'll end up buying them either way. The perspctive of "losing something important" (as players) it's more worrysome profilewise than modelwise.

The important stuff is that CB realizes and understands it's limitations as a company and it's adapting its business accordingly in order to produce new content in the future. And, as they say, it's not permanent.

I think it's just a reflection of contemporary women's fashion. They get bags because their clothing doesn't have pockets.
Men's clothing has pockets everywhere and men tend to put crap into most of them. Women do this with handbags.

Continuing on the "sabbatical" matter - seems that Accontaciemento is next in line, scheduled mid-October, exactly with the French treatment: a small update / tune-up, and then being sent on holiday.

They are, according to my local PanO player, the best balanced / rounded & fun to play PanO sectorial, with little drawbacks to correct (save for the ill-fitted role for their characters, which is likely to get fixed in the update).

It does, however, seem to support the idea of having 3 sectorials per faction as the maximum feasible before one of them gets a sabbatical to make space for the 4th.
Of course, having ~50 Haqq entries in the catalogue right now may be putting us in a slightly different position, but this remains to be seen.

Or maybe neither as Ramah brings the number of in production Haqq sectorials into parity with PanO, Ariadna, and Nomads.

If were talking theoretical in the future, I wouldnt mind seeing HB go on vacation and we get an update. Let Govads and Lasiqs mix in with a Ghulam link. That would be awesome.

    In due time.
Keep in mind the "discontinuation" is not a permanent thing, according to CB.
MRRF got restructured game-wise, and taken heavy loses fluff-wise: they're recuperating right now, and one day will be re-released. Their models are no longer being produced at the moment, true, but they will come back - with new sculpts - in due time.

Same with Accontaciemento. They're more or less finished in terms of models and rules. They get an update, and then the'll be laid off. Because what else can be done with them?
I mean, you could graft new rules and new equipment, but there needs to be a limit somewhere. A moment to stop and think.
If a sectorial is complete, it has no real place nor reason to grow.

The only thing CB can really do at that point is to resculpt existing models for it, and keep casting them. Which is really not sustainable, if we take into account that CB needs the processing power (of sculpting, casting and wrtitng new rules) to release other sectorials. So far, it seems they are able to keep 3 sectorials per army active. Ariadna has recently exchanged MRRF for TAK. PanOceania is about to exchange Accontaciemento for Varuna.

Shall we Haqq one day exchange Hassassin Bahram or Qapu Khalqi for the Khanate, that'll be according to the general order of things...

I wonder how long that will take, I mean from a pure Fluff standpoint.
The casualties where so severe that the army more or less stopped working and they have to fill big gaps in the amount of troops they have.
but how will they do that?
Wait minimum 16 to 18 ingame years for a new generation of soldiers to be born, raised and trained?
Forcefully draft all those men and women in their territory who are able to fight but didn´t need to/ weren´t willing to while the olf FRRM existed?
Get troop support from other territories on dawn, including troops of Scot, USA und Kazak origin (bringing some equipment and tactics with them)?

And don´t forget that from the start of Infinity up untill Uprising not much time has pased ( how much is it, 2 ingame years +/-?) so we might have to wait another 10 years in real time or CB has to speed up ingame time massivly or the "heavy losses" weren´t so heavy after all.

I'm not being funny, but it was fairly obvious. How are they going to discontinue something that isn't even out yet?
