God, the more I look at that Barid, the more I hate it. Might just keep using Mukhtar Hackers as Barids, and skip this box entirely.

I'll get it just for the completionist in me. I find the sculpts a little underwhelming.

Daylami: I made it a point to grab several of the old PF sculpts, including an old OOP ghulam DEP just so I can have something a little more wysiwyg. The fact that there is no visible PF bugs me. I'd probably still use the old ones just for that.

Lasiq: I can't complain. It probably needed a resculpt just because they needed to go digital. I would have preferred an aiming\overwatch sculpt but that is minor.

Barid: This looks rushed. Take ghulam body, add a new lasiq head on it. Copy and paste Avicenna ponytail. I know with the current Meta they are basically alternative ghulams. They wanted it to blend in to the fireteam, but it looks like a rush job.

Nadhir: Given the pose and load out, I'm 100% sure a cooler version will be released in 2 months.

Bokhtar: This one looks like they put time into it, and wanted something people will look at (including unrelease profile as a tease). I just hope the profile is interesting. It would be nice to have a better Ragik. I'm actually curious if the ragiks are digital sculpts or not. Will that be the new Haqq AD equipment, and will the ragik get a new sculpt.

Rouhani: less dynamic defiance version. Can't complain.

Seriously, I think that Barid has a hood with no jacket or cloak. Like, just a hood, by itself, not part of a garment.

I agree. It's literally ghulam body. Lasiq head, and Avicenna ponytail. The only 'new' piece on it is the shoulderpads.

I think it retained the leg armor from the old Barid/Govads/Ragik, which never made sense on a LI in the first place. Ghulam torso, Lasiq head grafted on.

Probably the Lasiq took a fatal body injury in the field, and a quick-thinking Haqq Doctor(+3) transplanted the head onto a nearby Ghulam, but they had to work so fast they didn't have time to pull the hood down so they just chopped off the whole head, hood and all. It's a medical miracle.

Quite surprised how underwhelmed many of you are, I didnt expect much but I think these models are fantastic, except maybe the bokhtar. But nevertheless the best haqq minis since the kawahrij box if u ask me.

The Nadhir's Flammenspeer is modeled underslung on his SMG in a similar fashion to the Tanko.

Bokhtar shares a lot of design language with the Al Fasid, protruding chest plate and hydraulics on the legs instead of the more muscle looking servos on other HI, be interesting to see if he gets both Parachutist and Combat Jump, or only one of them like the Santiago.

Blech. That's even worse. How is it Disposable if the ammo is small enough to fit in that tiny underslung widget? He could just fill his pockets with more of them. A Flammenspear should be a big bulky rocket launcher like the Panzerfaust.

Like any of CBs weapon designs have worried about making sense. If that bothers you just don't look at PanO's magazines or the Ariadnan Marksman/Sniper rifles.

    Anyway.

As a whole not bad, I really like the Daylami sculpts on their own, but they don't feel like irregular militia types. Their gear is to uniform. Still, great for other things (Welcome to DBS, you are now a Hunzakut). CBs obsession with sword poses continues...

Barid. It's fine. Nothing inspiring, but I'm generally tired of the hacker hands poses anyway. If you can use augmented reality, and you have cybernetics, why do they have to do a dance to hack? Nothing bad here.

Lasiq. It's a Lasiq, it looks like the old Lasiq. It's fine. Hopefully the profiles get a little more useful.

Bokhtar has me excited. The model itself is alright (god I hate the stupid main gun up, using a pistol bullshit poses, just reload instead of drawing a sidearm!), but the potential has me interested. Worst case scenario, arm swaps and a repose. But overall a neat idea for Hassassins.

Nadhir looks pretty bog standard MI to me. I wish they had done the marksman rifle instead of the SMG, but nothing a little cutting, pinning, and glue can't fix.

Rouhani is there. Good for people that don't have Defiance.

Fiday: No Fiday is very weird considering they're the most iconic Haqq troopers and that the only one still in production is very dated.

Bokhtar: Weird to have another drop trooper when we also have Fidays in our faction as a staple DZ harassment trooper. The other AD barely saw any play before, could this be a foreshadowing of the removal of Impersonation?

Daylami: Sword?! This one makes me raise an eyebrow. Not only do they not have their iconic panzerfaust modeled, but one of them has a sword? We've seen troopers that suck in CC with swords, but this time we have a trooper that would literally, under any circunstances, NEVER use their CC weapon. Because they have a pistol and pistol are strictly better (because of their PH10).

Ghulam: I'm very happy they didn't waste 3 slots on useless Ghulam, as I don't think I'd ever field more than a singular one (NCO profile) in HB. And with the new Daylami sculpts, I'm expecting that the Daylami might replace the Ghulams as line infantry and have unique entries with infiltration (similar to how Metros / Rokot / Grunts).

Rahman: Not a profile I'm excited to have in HB, but maybe if there is trooper reword he could find a way in the fireteam as the flex slot (assuming he's linkable).

Lasiq: Looks good, but unless they get a profile update, it's never seeing the table still.

Nadhir, Barid: Looks good, but very genereric.

Pandora: Funnily this is the "Haqq" profile I'm the most excited about. If we follow the trend of other boxes, she should be playable in both faction. There is so much cool design space that could be explored for Pandora, I hope they do something fun with her.

There's no impersonation in Code One. So no Fiday. Also, there's still a perfectly new-ish Fiday in the Haqqislam Action Pack.

For Code One: Yes. For N4: No. Also, why not both?

No panzerfausts in Code One. Also, all line troops in these two-player boxes have been standard loadouts since they have been introduced. Why is everyone surprised? Swords are side arms. You might not want to use it, but you might have to. If CB is allowed to model pistols, could we allow them to model swords as well?

I'm also happy they didn't release another 3 Ghulams. The ones from Red Veil still hold up perfectly.

    I honestly agree.

That's very well worded. Especially when you compare them to the Steel Phalanx half, which have a ton of character and very unique look to anything else they've made before.

I'm more excited about the potential update to Army than I am about the minis.

There is no "you might have to".

The Daylami literally does more damage by using their pistol in CC mode. There is literally no circumstances you would EVER use a sword on a Daylami, even if your ONLY ARO possible was CC Attack.

This is different than any other trooper they've made before that were modeled with a CC weapon. Where they might suck in CC, but if they're forced to CC, they're going to use their sword. (because higher PH than 11 or an ammo type on the sword)

The surprise is that they put Daylami in a Code 1 release in the first place, since their two defining features are being Irregular and having Panzerfausts, neither of which exist in Code 1.

Best guess is a total rework into a Regular line trooper replacing Ghulams in HB, which has nothing in common with the former Daylamis except the name. In which case the sculpts could make sense.

Except that damn sword, unless they also increase their CC. I disagree completely that "swords are sidearms." Pistols are sidearms. Swords are only cool when they're unusual, i.e. a weapon for CC experts. If everyone has them they become as boring as pistols, and also the idea that in the future all soldiers carry swords is just dumb.

I like the new Daylami as you can rarely have too many daylami. I would be neat for HB to have regular versions of them that can be linked.

Ugh, didn't think about Code 1.
It would seem Code 1 is the reason everything that makes HB unique has been left out of the box, it's extremely disappointing.

that might be why they were not released earlier, they rely on too many rules that are not Code1.

I like the look of the Daylami. The point raised about them replacing Ghulams has to be correct. Ghulams will remain with RTF and the the mechanized Ghulami will be for the new sectorial release down the line. But, no panzerfaust? Face palm.

Barid, I can dig it, but the Nadhir is trash. What a huge miss. And, that new heavy jump trooper looks better suited for RTF not HB. RTF does have a thing for redfury rifles.

Overall, Aleph got all the love. We got a shift in design. It feels like disrespect, but I’m going to far. Oh well, my two cents.

Funny, that's exactly the same thing that I use my Daylami for.

    +1 this.

In a Scifi universe swords just don't make sense. In Dune I can get that they have CC weapons since they have those shields (Been ages since I read the book and forget the details). But most scifi universe can't explain a reason to justify it. I don't mind knives so much just because they have multiple uses in the field, and can be used as a CCW. I wouldn't mind if a faction had Holter-able hand-axes as an alternative to give the sculptures an alternative. But Giant swords and hammers as primary weapon for frontline troops just bug me in a scifi world. I sort of accept it for stealthy units.
