Finished up the Taigha Creatures from Defiance. I decided I wanted to go for a bit of a lobster look for their skin, and to try a prismatic crystalline look for their claws and denticles.
I painted this one up a few months ago for a quarterly challenge and am now able to share. I really like how it came out.
Thanks, I did this as a bit of a test case for the color scheme I was thinking of for the Megalodron.
I finished up a few models over the weekend. First is Aida Swanson from Defiance and ITS. I had a difficult time getting a decent photo of the faces on these, as the face and hair tend to blow out. The other delay I had was deciding on how to paint up the pants and shirt, but I finally decided on using the color scheme of another famous smuggler from fiction. The problem with painting her up is now I need to make some Tohaa lists with her, (though she does seem better in N4 with Booty instead of Scavenger). I also painted up the 2 Jayth from Defiance. It seemed a bit strange to me that their arms are bare in the official paint job for them, with the woven banding. Would that mean that the banding is part of the other Shasvastii too, and they just have extremely form fitting uniforms? If so what about painting Shasvastii with all the banding skin color? I decided I would save the answer to that question for later paint jobs, and painted up the Jayth with sleeves. Lastly I painted up Boarding Action Sheskiin. I decided to paint her hair blond, concluding that when she she morphoscanned Achilles, she stole his golden hair as well. I painted her armor in a revers of my color scheme for the other Shasvastii, and did not realize until I had finished with the red that I had basically painted her up like a vampire lord from warhammer.
Sweet job and I've also been considering doing Shas banded parts "fleshy". I think I'll go through with it.
I painted this up at the same time as the Charontid for Mayacast's quarterly painting competition, so I used the same color scheme.
Finished up the Chaksa Longarms, so now I need to fit them into a list. And finished up the SMG Jager and decided to photo it along with the boarding Shotgun. Looking forward to putting it to use in the next global campaign. Down to 7 models, a mix of Kamael, the Combi Makaul, and 2 Gorgos pilots.
I finished up the final four minis usable in tohaa, though I will have to wait until the end of the month to show photos of one of them.
This is the last of my Tohaa, a Gorgos Pilot conversion before the official model was released, and back before there was no difference between the TAG's spitfire and the pilot's.
Down to 6 of the Shas models for Defiance, so I think I am going to take a quick break to paint up some of the heroes. I had to paint the braided texture on the tubes on one of the Cadmus' rebreathers which was a fun challenge.
Finished up Jass & Billie for Defiance. I also have Cadin almost finished and have started work on the last of the non-Speculo Shas. I think out of everything I am happiest with how Jazz's sparkly belt turned out.
