Infinity as a whole draws its inspiration both from Japanese take on cyberpunk/dystopia and Western one. We've got inspiratons from a huge spectre of media and Aristeia draws from a bloodsport/superhero angle. Why not take it further? Let's dig into "The Running Man", splice it with "Tiger and Bunny" and take Aristeia! to the streets. I see the list roughly divided into three parts- Team RED, Teab BLUE and security support. First two are competitors, third one works as a backstade support to provide a good footage. I've picked only those aristos who are either now playing in mainstay Infinity or are Aleph creations- and built to last. If they are not filmed, they are training- or are creating video for an anonymous buyers. And Superpowers are thinking of this test footage as a way to evolve Aristeia! into bigger propaganda vehicle. RED are mercenaries or special forces, used to work in a group and working thus to make a reat show. All are linkable. Basic idea is aceess to smoke, limited or no MSV2, no TAG, reliance on characters' skills. Hannibal- Counterintelligence, FO, Lt- looking at Shukra for an inspiration. Senor Massacre- classic choice, also an Lt option. Haris option. Major Lunah- heavy weapon option for the link, exchanges limited camo for maybe ODD. An overseer from StateEmpire to the program. Laxmee- hacher, specialist, a good tie-in. BLUE work as a skirmishers, using their unique abilities and biosynth bodies to get to the target first. Most are tightly linked to Aleph. Parvati- AD doctor, maybe with AD servitors, Hakim-like. 2xSMG, at least. Proxy5 styled. Wild Bill- on his cyber horse, a centerpiece of release. Biker/smoke option, maybe T2 Winchester rifle. Dart- limited camo option for the list, Specialist option. PanO representative. Musashi- he is in for the kill. Maybe, with Haris or Lt. Support- basically, shooting team (both meanings) and bodyguards. CSU- add a Doctor and DHD (cheap) option. Bounty hunters- with an Engineer and Paramedic, duo, Haris (RED), Wildcard option- Hannibal's associates. PanO basic bots- Palbots, Mules, Fugasi (ava3, to keep a perimeter), Peacekeeper, Pathfinders. Warcor, obviously. So, what do you think about this?
I kind of get where you’re going with this, but I would never buy into it. Not a fan of Aristeia! Or most of the characters. I think a big draw to infinity (for me) was the cohesive fireteams with a non-cringey theme to them. (At least for the most part).
A lot of Aristeia characters are in Infinity or really near it thematically. So let them leak and make a show of it.
Yup. But you aren’t asking to insert individual characters to their thematic factions. You’re suggesting competitors team up to fight everyone else. I get it. I’m not a fan. You asked for opinions. I’m (not) sorry you don’t like mine.
I really like this idea. I'm painting up some minis and the quality has definitely improved. Would love to see them on the table top more
As per newest fluff, Mendoza and Dart are actively fighting on the front of Paradiso. It may point onto a fourther incorporation of aristos into mainline infinity.
"The less people enjoy an enjoyable thing, the happier I will be" Must be a taxing mentality to have.
Much better constructed game from the buttom and up. Solid rules and clearly written. Yes, from a competitive game POV, it's far superior than ITS of Infinity.
Hail the Ur-moderator, for he has blessed us with his presence! Koni, what could you say on this idea? Mendoza and Dart are fighting on Paradiso as we speak! Luna, Deadpool and Musashi are in the game already.
Think that Aristeia is a Sport spectacle, and the majority of the Aristos are just athletes/actors. Yeah, we have some "professional soldiers" (Lunah, Mushashi, Dart...) but I cannot see Wild Bill, Parvati, Oberon, Shona...on the battleground fighting against the Combined Army. I find funny your idea but I think is not possible. In my personal opinion, of course But, who knows what can bring the future?
I own Aristeia and the first expansion. I have played it. I like that it's a part of the Infinity universe. When I have free time to play something I would rather play Infinity over Aristeia every time. The concept is interesting, but the game itself does nothing for me. I will obsess about playing Infinity, but never once think about wanting to play Aristeia. The choice between the games is 100% personal preference.
