They've not announced any plans for another expansion yet, but N4 doesn't have Fireteam rules included because they're the most likely to be changed after the first year or so of ITS has had a chance to kick the tyres of the new N4 changes. CB seem to be moving towards having the rules as a living document with the books more as collector's/fluff pieces.

Putting the fireteam rules in a separate PDF sort of qualifies how complete the N4 rules are.

If Aleph and Tohaa aren’t in the main rulebook, that and Fireteams would probably be enough for an HSN4, although I wonder if they’ll name it something else.

Haven't we got it confirmed that we're getting the fireteams (first iteration) tomorrow and that HSN4 won't happen (like at all - expansions in N4 will not be "Human Sphere" re-releases)?

If HSN4 is not happening why does Aleph not have its fluff in the N4 book?

Okay, I admit that I kind of don't understand the plan here.

After looking through the book, I can say that not only ALEPH and Tohaa aren't there at all, but the fluff for the factions included isn't complete, either. I checked the Haqqislam and CA chapters and both of them are missing at least a few units in the troops fluff parts. Haqq's chapter doesn't have the Kameel drones, some of the Hassassins, the Daylami - and the CA chapter is missing a lot of Morat units, for once. Also, the rules seems to be missing, too - for example, I cannot find the rules for TO Camo or Sepsitor Plus. Finally, there are no troop profiles (meaning, stats) or army lists. At all.

So... all of this feels like half of a book, really. It wouldn't be a problem, if it was knows that N4 Vol 4. is coming in a month - but from what you guys say, there's no info on HSN4, upcoming supplements etc. So... what gives? Half of the N4 stuff gets published as a book and the rest is going to be available online? What's the point of publishing a printed book at all?

Also - and I know I may be repeating myself - that small font in the book is *too small*. I realize it may not be an issue to an average person, but it *is* an issue to vision-impaired people. Why is it so hard to stop and think that, if you print a book in such a small font, some people may literally have trouble reading it? It's not a complaint only against CB - I'm noticing it as a returning problem lately in various situations (for example, not too long ago, I had to actually manually mod a PC game I purchased, because it used an awfully small font with no option to make it any bigger, so I couldn't play a game I paid for...). Still, it's frustrating to encounter this problem here...

Well, TO camo is gone because it has been dissassembledinto Hidden Deploy, mimetism-6 and camo.
Same with Sepsitor+, its probably gone because fuck having two slightly different Sepsitors

Good point about TO Camo, I guess. I'm curious how the units with TO Came will function in N4. I liked TO Camo... :)

But when it comes to Sepsitor Plus - the N4 write-up of Sepsitor literally states that there are different versions of this technology with different power levels. That would suggest there's a place for Sepsitor Plus... If so, then - where is it?

BTW. I see there's only Doctor, no Doctor Plus or Akbar Doctor... something missing or another skill that got heavily rewritten?

Doctor(+3) and Doctor(2Wounds) habe appeared in the preview profiles

    So yes, rewrite

I'm assuming that sepsitor text is the usual CB bullshit of "just in case we want to add something new here" that they do every edition and never use.

They'll function the same way. N3 TO Camo has just been split into it's constituent parts (Camouflage, Mimetism -6, Hidden Deployment, Stealth, Surprise Attack -3)

Ah, okay then. I guess I'm jumping at conclusions, though. Let's wait until tomorrow...

Still... where's the remaining 50% of the fluff???

There are so many units in this game, I'm not sure there would be enough space to include information on all of them in a single book. As far as I know, their previous books have been similar with several key and interesting units singled out, and the rest either mentioned briefly, or with fluff blurbs contained online. Especially when it comes to something as basic as Kameel remotes, do they even need fluff past the default EVO stuff?

Troop profiles will all be in Army 7 and lots of information will be available online for free. This is how CB usually does this type of stuff, I'm sorry if you were expecting something different. It's often been pointed out that the book itself is a vanity project for those of us who just like to collect books. I'm actually expecting the rules printed in the book to end up out of date after not very long even, that's the nature of the proposed living rule set.

Sucks really, since that's the main reason I buy the book. Otherwise, rules are free, but I want the fluff. Now my ALEPH isn't listed? Disappointing. Are there any NA2 in it?

I'm near sighted, so I need glasses for everything except reading. I could get bi-focals so I wouldn't have to remove my glasses when I read, but meh. Have you tried reading glasses? They're cheap enough and plenty of folks wear them.

Ah, I see what they did there. Makes sense, actually. Alright, no complaints, then.

I guess demanding fluff for a baggage bots may be excessive, but it's not that strange for others units. At least if you're like me and you really like to get into the fluff side of things. I really like to know the troops I play with it... and their fluff actually may influence whether I want to use them at all. So, Army profiles aren't enough...

Plus, you know - I don't actually need all of these troop profiles, because I have the N3 books and can refer to them. But try looking at this from the perspective of someone who just gets into Infinity - they're going to check the Army and realize they don't know who half of the troops there are supposed to be...

It's true that the rules can get outdated quickly - but if we go with this approach, then CB should just drop the books altogether. But, if they are going to make printed books, they should be as complete as possible.

Maybe the solution would be to split the books into two volumes sold separately? A really thick volume containing all the current fluff and another volume with rules. And you could buy any of them, depending on your needs...

There's a some general info on Mercs and details on White Company. Nothing more, sadly... Again, strange, because it leaves out new players without any info on some interesting factions, including the JSA (who aren't even mercenaries!).

I need to wear glasses all the time, even for reading. Normally, they are enough. I don't know, maybe I'm getting old enough to consider a pair glasses strictly for reading - but I really can read most books without trouble. So, it's not just the glasses' fault - that font really is tiny, IMHO.

I actually made a comparison - here's a photo of a text from an average-fonted book with the text from the N4 books: IMG_20200925_010952.jpg

Seriously, this *is* small. I've being reading N4 four hours ago for not more than an hour and I still feel my eyes hurt.

Don't know what you're talking about, that other book has way smaller font. Looking forward to the Sir Giles statline reveal tonight, myself.

    So "lazy" and "party" can be used when talking about Spain: eating at 14:00 h (Sun's 12 h or 13 h), going to bars at 22:00 h (Sun's 20 h or 21 h).

They will just disappear in 6 months if they get the bad influences of forum attachments.

Because it will be a different name this time. Or maybe the same, but there are more books coming, no doubt. Some CB cards are easy to see.

Even with glasses, font size and shape, as well as colors or even the white space, can be a problem that too many designers ignore. A sad trend of last decades, throwing away centuries of experience. But be happy, it is not Comic Sans.

And just saw the photo, it is smaller than the other book, so unless that novel uses big fonts... yeah, a bit tiny.
