I'd look at your scenography and try to make something in the same scheme, or barring that, painting the stairs in the same colors as the rest of the bases on your army. Or, as a last ditch effort, avoid using the ruined stairs altogether.

I think I’ve worked out a solution. Hopefully will have the Noctifer finished by next weekend ..... so I can post the completed pics by then.

Messed up the cloak and the hood but can't be bothered to try an fix it. Did not enjoy painting this at all.

I hope you change that glossy black... it reminds me a cockroach >.< (and the green looks like too rough, too opaque... Unfinished, compared with the other colors)

It's the lighting I guess. Perhaps this is a better picture. I truly did not enjoy painting this model. Such an old sculpt. Shallow details and poor casting.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. I'd love to have a model this well painted in my collection. :grimacing:

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Unfortunately I still am not convinced about the quality and the colour of the paintjob though and will relook at it under proper daylight conditions and also complete the base to see what can be done to improve it. The bloody cloak is giving me nightmares......

Maybe run some green/black wash over the green on the cloak to give it some depth? I think that might be the issue you're having with it.

Done I guess. Still not entirely pleased but it's time to move on. Green is a hard colour to photograph.... IMG_20171214_204217.jpg IMG_20171214_204310.jpg

The problem, I think, it's that it is too vibrant, and when we look at a reference there is the armor (matte) and the skin (darker, shaded, etc...), so it looks like the coat is half finished. Maybe it would have been better to paint it as if it where getting out of TO, I don't know (mine is more smudged than painted, so... XD)

Great idea to pin the Ikadron arms, but I would suggest to pin the legs aswell! For some reason, those four points love to go partying alone XD
