this week ive been painting Samurais (still got the left one to finish), one box down another left to build + neko im using a GW coax white spray paint as a base, i dont really like it since it comes out rougher than their black can. as you can tell from my other white models ive yet to buy a GW white brush paint that isn't a dry brick (even when just bought and fresh from the factory) that i need to add water and stir every time i used it... also i dont think i published my latest bike
I know what you mean by the GW white sprays! I had one before they changed the name. I think it was skull white. I was really irritated when the paint spray came out like sand paper. I've discovered that for it to come out smooth, I had to shake the can vigorously for at least 3-5 minutes. Anything less would come out rough. So try that. For brush paint I switched to Vallejo Game Color Dead White and am happy with it.
I tried more recently (a few years ago with both GW Corax and Amry painter white) when I wanted to paint some Stormcast white: a disaster that forced me to paint them silver.... Even when starting from a thin surface of black primer and then building white I found the paints to be quite dense. Although, a week ago I bought an airbrush bundle(60euros) and found that with it the white sticks quite nicely without too much trouble and, most importantly, without leaving the surface dotted with residues
I want to try this guy's method for painting white. Unfortunately my paint scheme at the moment doesn't contain significant amount of white so that will have to wait.
The white and red looks sharp. Very Japanese! If you don't mind me asking, what happened to the front rim of the hat?
only one model this time, been split with other stuff including my bday comming this week. the JSA Lu Duan remote 99% finished, just doing final touches
@dhellfox Well happy birthday foxman. I hope your birthday is a good one and your models continue to flow at good quality.
You are improving. Just keep focusing on clean smooth paint jobs , and allow yourself to experiment and push the level of detail , including shading and highlighting, at your own pace. So far so good . I enjoy seeing your updates so please keep at it.
well i finally got off my lazy ass and painted the rest of my aridana bikes did i mention how much i hate painting bike models?
@dhellfox It's all coming along well judging by the pictures. Hope your painting backlog shrinks so you can add more models to your forces.
hah my backlog is biblical ; the entire aleph catalog (that haven't been painted yet) op wildfire collection + 2 more O-12 army packs (and remaining o-12 catalogue) jsa catalog druze shock troops x2 + rare hacker model outrage box + dier foes noctine brawlers + both exclusive models op icestorm collection, 300pt military orders, stingray 3s, varanuna starter box, jotum, squalo andseraph (all yet to be built, saving for a rainy day) and an antipode assault pack (and an unpanted CHA dogwarrior) :P
@dhellfox Do you have a force or two where these units will go into? Perhaps you have proxy or converting ideas for the models?
