I started playing with Bakunin. I don't see the necessity of MSV2. It's nice and all, but hardly a necessity.

A riot Grrrls! Core will do that to you, thanks to the MSV1 they all have (so they compensate for a lot of camo/ODD, plus are cheap enough HI). Tunguska has the more fragile Grenzers, and Corregidor doesn't even have MSV1, they go straight to MSV2 on the Intruder.

I'll rephrase. I started playing Infinity playing non-Riot Grrl Bakunin.

I rarely play Grrls. A handful of games all told.

Reminder that the only other sniper in Corregidor is a basic Alguacil... And you need a Core of them to be effective (and you may just go for ML instead, which is what I usually do if I bring Alg Core).

Intruder Sniper depends on the table, but with Forward Deployment you could deploy her somewhere high and safe and use as active turn hunter easily. I found the sniper more efficient than the HMG due to range and less need to move around (that 4-2 can hurt, getting Move + BS attack every Order usually proves impossible). That said I have found myself facing 4 snipers at once without having one of my own sometimes, hence my reliance on Intruder in this role.

Also I tend to use something like Geckos or Wildcats or a dropped Hellcat (that HMG is often unexpected, great for dropping in turn 2 to shoot in exposed backs) for high Burst active attack. A while ago I warmed up to Spitfire Tsyklon as well (hacking buffs + X-Visor, yes please).

For ARO Jags with Panzerfausts are good enough.

I'll refocus then... Frigging Sin-Eater Spitfire took more than 10 orders last sunday without at scratch. Then the Prowlers with glue did a number. XD

Yeah, but Burst 4 Vs Burst 2. Nowadays that B4 is kind of a must unless you are shooting from one corner of the table to the other (to impose a straight -12). The X-Visor is also good, on that I agree.

There's a reason I thoroughly hated losing Triangulated Fire FO as a tactic. I once took out 2 linked Grunt snipers in 2 orders by using Pi-well to Triangulated FO both of them through Jungle Terrain and then dropped Guided rounds on their heads.

Nothing's really lost though, unless you're targetting units with Mods. Flashpulse have the longest -3 Mod in the game (as far as I'm aware), and if he's given MM:2 via the Interventor, his roll is identical. I am aware that now requires Supportware to pull off, but I don't see that as worse than having to set up Pi-Well before, with surviving that order and THEN spend an entire order using Triangulated Fire FO.

I counter deployed the Snipers with Pi-well ;)

And yes, I've done it once. So in the whole scheme of things it's not a big loss.

But in that scenario without triangulated fire Pi-well would have been on 4s (Cover, Range, Low Vis). I wouldn't have been able to pull off the FO efficiently

That B4 can be carried by several different platforms, like I said. Often faster ones, tougher or linked. Sniping is limited, and when you're facing 4 snipers, 2 or 3 of them with Sapper, having range of your own becomes important.

Note that the very first thing I usually activate is a Bandit for a quick suicide run to deal as much damage to a link or enemy sniper as possible. The Intruder is there to deliver DA/AP to stuff that endangers my own link, but has limited range (like MLs or TR Bots).

I'm not saying that HMG Intruder is bust (there's nothing stopping you from fielding 2 Intruders after all) and I had him deal a lot of damage, but I value that Sniper Rifle.

Either Lupe or massacre in a fire team for double smoke and an MSR Intruder, Mcmurder also did so much work for me in one game that i don't think ill leave home without him ever again and finally my link team MB HMG, Lupe, Daktaris, FO Algucil (was a spec ops in escalation league) and Alg LT.

I Just cant seem to work the tysklon the way I would like it, Use an order to get support ware on it is an order I might be able to get better mods from position or smoke and move with lupe and the added toughness a MB has with extra wound extra arm and a doctor in the unit too, The extra arm and extra wound actually won me a game so maybe I am a little biased there haha then a haris with massacre for anything i dont want to shoot!

Plus i think its really cool and kinda thematic that this team of bad ass's and specialists moving up under the cover of their intruder sniper

Yeah, I played a couple games against cypherkk's Ariadna and got my ass handed to me by camo.

Intruders became very important after that!

It might just be a concept of expectations. The intruder was one of the best attack pieces in the game for years... and now he's a bit diminished with all these link teams running around. Still absolutely useful but arguably no longer an auto-include for vanilla Nomads. I used to play with two fairly often but don't think I'd do that anymore.

Plus I look at that new MSV red fury Muktar and get a bit jealous!

A linked Brigada ML is a much more powerful ARO guy than an Intruder. I seriously cannot overstate just how much I think the proliferation of linked HI with Missile Launchers has changed the game.

I really don't see an Intruder as an ARO piece though. It could be in Suppressive, but I see them more as Active Turn assault troops.

Only way I can see Intruders working as an ARO piece is by going for the superb meme strat of combo-ing them with a Jaguar, and have the Jag toss smoke down at it's feet in ARO right next to the Intruder Sniper.

Then you've got the superb joke of a strategy that is an Intruder Sniper in a smoke cloud in your Reactive turn.

Managed that with a couple of Daturazis against the greeks once, behind them there was the mandatory Charontid HMG, and (strange for me) a Sniper Maakrep (on the other flank, a Red Fury xeodron and the, at the time new, H+ Kerr Nau).
The guy quikly lost the link, Hector, and the will to fight, since he wasn't even able to Dodge (requires LoF to the attacker :S)

Can you expand on this? I'd like to see an example of the composition of a fireteam you would you put it in. I'd be interested in playing with it, I really like my Brigada models but the missile launcher in particular gets almost no play time from me.

A sensor REM moving with smokes will do more stuff, especially the nomad one with climbing plus, you can really turn the terrain in your favour.
I guess the intruder sniper with xvisor will do more real work to discover and shoot effectively

Well very little beats a ML in a 5 men core on ARO. It basically forces the opponent to take a fight on not so favourable odds. You are likely to get 13+6 for range and core.
Ex: shooting back at an ODD in cover means you'll be on 10 B2.

Also likely to get armor 7 if you lose the head to head, and last you have 2 wounds.

Why wouldn't he be able to dodge? I understood no LoF due to smoke is normal dodge or -6 to shoot back if you would have LoF normally. Unless there is something I'm missing.
